The staff were excellent, all friendly and helpful. The location along the riverside is obviously lovely. The room was beautifully decorated and thought out, great touch leaving a fan in there. Very clean too. Carpark was a must for us. Food was fine, nothing amazing, but good enough. Let me expand on that, the breakfast was good, but the mushroom pizza only had two whole mushrooms cut up onto it, and the pepperoni pizza had 6 pieces of pepperoni.. both seemed a little scarce. The chilli on chips the next night was lovely, but I think your plates are too big which make the servings look small, especially the burger dish.

The bed squeaked badly every time we moved which kept waking me up (Kingfisher room) The mattress was not great either. The shower door doesn't open and close easily, it has 'dropped' so needed to be hefted and pulled hard into place to close. Your 'front door' entrance looks tatty with a dead plant in pot left outside the door too, it would benefit from being smartened up and maybe a hanging basket or something to make it look less run down.

The Hotel was very picturesque as on the banks of the River. Our room looked out down the river. The room was very clean with pillow protectors and plenty of milk sachets for tea making. Shower was great and handy side entrance to enter accommodation so didn’t have to walk through pub if preferred. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Cooked breakfast 10/10 and service excellent.

Unfortunately we were over the kitchen and it had a large extractor fan on its roof. Initially a little noisy and smelly so couldn’t open the window. A fan was provided so put this on .However we didn’t stay in our room for long & it was turned off at 22.30 hours & then on again at breakfast time 08.00 which we didn’t notice as busy getting washed etc. The bed was rather soft for me but suited my husband .

Overall it was a lovely place to stay. Dinner was tasty and reasonably priced and although my steak wasn’t quite medium it was extremely tasty and tender. Breakfast both mornings was very well cooked and again very tasty-nice to see a good quality sausage used! Staff were pleasant and efficient and the room was clean etc. I would definitely stay again.

The window latches were broken meaning they creaked and the catches scratched as the window moved and the extraction unit for the kitchen was right below my window. Not really a problem but it could be a bit noisy and smelly at times.

The room was very clean and newly decorated with a beautiful view. Tea/coffee/water in room on arrival and was refreshed the next day while we were out. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful , the bacon was amazing !! I would highly recommend and would definitely go back.

The bed was a little soft for me, but I still slept okay. The shower cubicle was on the small side. The bar and tables felt "sticky", not from food, but maybe the Polish that has been used on them, so you stuck to it when leaning on them.

Bottles of water in room that were replenished when used was excellent. Breakfast was very good. Lovely quiet spot. The mattresses were soft and comfortable. Food was excellent value for money. View of the river from room was beautiful. Lovely spot and near "attractions" easy to walk to.

Just a little constructive criticism, the room would have benefited from a chair but I understand that Gooseander room had only just been refurbished and maybe the chair hadn't been placed in there yet.

It was a perfect little place a very old looking building which i loved a bout it placed right by a river which was also lovely only gave 8 stars because our room was small but very cosy next time will ask for a bit bigger room but staff did warn us we may wan to swap With our family who had the larger room liked where it was the location was perfect an the look was was lovely staff where so nice breakfast included in the price which was also lovely an we all really enjoyed it No Complaints loved our stay an will go again

Evening host and morning breakfast staff were exceptional. Welcoming, polite and attentive. Room was clean and well prepared with facilities as advertised. Breakfast menu was excellent (including vegetarian option) with quality products.

Room decor was a little dated and 'worn' in places. The ensuite bathroom would benefit from an update and redecoration eg ceiling extractor fan not working, uncovered and dirty; leaking sink fittings with a plastic bowl beneath to catch leaks. We did notice that some refurbishment is taking place as evidenced outside the main building carpark.

The room was very clean very tidy, perfect. the staff were really lovely and so helpful. Absolutely beautiful location and we loved that the bar made use of the riverside and had tables outside. The staff helped us with local knowledge, recommended places to eat (they were in between chefs so no evening food) so they were helpful with that and directions etc.

The breakfast was lovely, but I had slightly less, as it seemed they weren't prepared for a vegan diner, it would have been nice to have some vegan sausages or bread for toast that was suitable for vegans. It could be because they didn't have a chef at the moment but before booking I did message and check if they did a vegan breakfast and someone replied to say that they did. So I booked there with that in mind. Nevertheless the items I had for breakfast were really nicely cooked and the staff were really helpful trying to find items I could have. So this is really just feedback for them incase they get any other vegan travellers, to get a few more bits in for them if they state they cater for vegans :)

Friendly staff in the evening and next morning. We had a lovely refurbished room with a comfortable bed and a good sized kettle and cups. It was enjoyable to sit in the beer garden overlooking the river Dart. We had a cracking breakfast. We enjoyed our stay which was priced very reasonably.

Ideally it would have been preferable to check in at 3pm instead of 4.30. We waited 50 minutes for our evening meal. The two items above did not spoil our overall stay.

Young lady who was in bar , long blonde hair tied back in a plat, was an asset to the Inn, polite and friendly and attentive. We absolutely loved it. Good job !

The breakfast lady having to cope on her own ! I felt like offering to help her ! Now ... not so good news. A young lady, with long blonde strait hair, on our last day was helping out , with breakfast, she was polite enough, but made it clear to your guests that she was busy and they had to wait, a man asked for another coffee whilst waiting for his breakfast, she told him she would, but he must wait as she only had one kettle, and other guests needed, tea/coffee before him...... Now we are in a B&B with several rooms, all with kettles ! Come on ...
