We booked a really nice, spacious room. Internet was good enough for video calls, bed was comfortable but a bit creaky, location was great! Make sure you go for a walk by the riverside, it’s gorgeous!

Can’t complain really.. the breakfast didn’t offer many options if you were dairy-free (no alternative milk or yogurts) or gluten free (one cereal option but it had nearly run out) but that’s fine. There’s a nice cafe just downstairs anyway. People should probably be prepared for finding food in South Brent - the hotel restaurant was closed and the other pub that does food didn’t have their chef so our options were two takeaway places or driving to another town - the fish and chips place actually does a vegetarian Vietnamese curry too!

Wonderful relaxing break with everything you need in village, pub, takeaway, the local corner shop was so friendly and well stocked, Welcoming hotel staff very helpful with anything you ask even directions on days out! Added bonus within accommodation of lovely tea room serving meals and delicious cakes. Immaculately clean and comfy room so welcoming with tea tray and fresh milk and water in fridge. Really enjoyed lounge facilities and complimentary continental breakfast was very much appreciated. Richard really has thought of everything to make this a very special stay.

We were quite lucky to get the room at the very top with beautiful view through the back door. The hotel is at the centre of the village, free off road parking area close by. The hotel provides light breakfast at the communal breakfast area, with some fruits, sweet bread and cereals. There are a few walking routes around the area which is quite nice. There's a bar downstairs which serves food and drink, however when we were there, the bar was very busy so we got fish and chips from the village instead, which only a short walk away. We enjoyed our stay at the Station House, South Brent. We would come again 😊

The complimentary breakfast was very good but not enough cutlery. The room was comfortable, and the gift for our dog was unexpected and wonderful. The bathroom was excellent and very clean, bed comfy, room was warm too. It was certainly value for money with allowing our dog too for a very reasonable rate. The cafe was nice.

I found the fire escape stairs difficult that we had to go up to our room. They weren't mentioned in the description, I have hip replacements so had to be careful. It would be easier.in dry weather.

Lovely shared lounge and cafe downstairs. Breakfast in the cafe was really great, with lots of options for dietary needs. Great location for Dartmoor.

Metal stairs to get up to the room. Fine for us, but it might not be for others. Everything else was great, especially considering the price of the room.

Spacious and clean. Plenty of tea and coffee and complimentary locally made fudge. Restoring the old pub was obviously a labour of love. With a close affinity to the railway, great attention has been made to give the property a station feel. There was a complimentary continental breakfast, but we chose to eat at the downstairs café. We are both vegetarian and we can highly recommend the breakfast. The café has a nice feel about it as locals popped in and out. Great value for money and we would recommend staying.

Great location for overnight stop. Very comfortable bed and facilities all good. Nice lounge area for residents and complimentary drinks/snacks for breakfast available. Cafe was open in the morning for coffee/breakfast, but not in the evening the night I stayed. Fuss free check-in via messaging. Parking is round the corner in the station carpark but only a couple of minutes walk away.

Nothing really. Renovations are clearly ongoing so not everything is perfect, but a comfortable and welcoming place to stay.

Pleasant standard room with greeny at window, private, not polished but comfortable, decent bathroom, easy to find hotel and good instructions to find room after 5pm arrival. Great breatfast room upstairs with views, activities, self-service continental, plus lovely cafe downstairs. Easy come-and-go from side passage, street parking up to 9am outside door. The local chippy is apparently a special find, although we went to the short drive Turtley Corn Mill for dinner.

The room was great - very quiet, very clean, and check-in after hours is super easy. We love this place and it's the second time we've been. Breakfast was good, though less plentiful than on a previous occasion when there were more guests and therefore a greater choice of fresh things. That's understandable, but it did feel a bit less generous.

The tap in the bathroom was super stiff and we had trouble turning the water off. Should be easily fixable! And a jug of water in the 'Quiet Carriage', to make it easier to fill the kettle, would make a big difference.

Convenient location, and a lovely place with squeaky-clean rooms, and a lovely common room for continental brekky and perhaps some pool. Love having access codes rather than keys for me to lose. Cafe downstairs is lovely should you require sommat more substantial, and all the staff are lovely. Even the ones that aren't my sister :) Thanks so much!

Only downside was our mattress, and - only if the place is fully booked - there's not enough hot water to go around for morning showers.
