Quite nice rooms with really comfortable beds made our stay here excellent. Not only the included breakfast was delicious, but also the options for lunch, dinner and the drinks selection were great. There is something for every taste. The location within Totnes is also good, with the train station not far away and within walkable distance.
At the hotel everything was great. In summer you can expect though drunk people passing by (and shouting) in the night or bar guests staying outside after closing hours. Therefore, it might not be a good choice for light / normal sleepers.

Perfect location in the centre of Totnes and only a 1/2 minute walk from a long stay car park. The bar restaurant located below is very nice and was the perfect place to end our nights with a couple of drinks. Both breakfasts we had there were nice and it's a shame we didn't have an opportunity to try the food in the daytime / evening. The bed was super lovely, big, fluffy and comfy. The decor is tasteful - minimalistic with a blend between old and new, and in keeping with the age and style of the building. Very clean throughout the room and bathroom. The room was equipped with everything we needed.
The most minor critique that had no impact on our stay whatsoever - the sugar dispensers were difficult to use and the lid kept falling off. The windows are single glazed due to the property being a listed building so noise from cars on the street does penetrate through. The soundproofing between rooms also isn't amazing, and we could hear our neighbours in the morning when they were getting up. Again this didn't really impact our stay, albeit it did wake myself up earlier than I'd have liked, and we're aware that this is a limitation of the building.

The hotel is so nice. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated but naturally with a country feel. Having links with local businesses and stocking their products is a great idea. The food in the restaurant was delicious and I spotted they had recently won an award - and rightly so. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. I'd definitely like to go back again in the near future. The breakfast options were also really tasty.
There was an ordering error when I had dinner which delayed me slightly and meant I had to rush my food in order to get to an event on time. I was given a free drink which was a nice gesture though. The rooms are not very sound proofed so you need ear plugs to sleep. I was woken up a lot by the gulls!

The Bull is is a pub/restaurant/hotel in an excellent quiet location at the top of the town High St on a quiet open square. The clientele are a mix mix of locals and visitors and the whole place is lively. It is located in a renovated historic public house and has an 'organic shabby chic' ethos inline with the general Totnes 'alternative' vibe. The food at lunch or dinner is ' award-winning 'organic/sustainable' (though which includes meat)- and is creative and tasty. Breakfast offered set menus, all of which were organic, tasty and good quality. The Staff are young, friendly and helpful. Our room was small, clean, comfortable with good tea making facilities. The bathroom well equipped, clean.
Our room had a kitchen extractor fan on the outside balcony which gave some noise and smell (for which a small discount was offered).

We absolutely loved the Albatross Apartment at the Bull Inn. It was twice the size we expected, and very comfortable for 3 couples and two kids. Well stocked kitchen, fabulous outdoor space, and incredibly comfortable beds. We ate at the Bull Inn twice and the food was excellent - definitely not to be missed. Location was great, right in town but easy to access by car. We would certainly stay here again.
The 3 front bedrooms face the pub so some evenings were a bit noisy. Fridge doesn’t have a freezer section so be aware when stocking up on groceries.

The staff were really welcoming and helpful. The shower was a walk in shower which I requested and need. The food served was amazing. Certainly not the regular fare offered in pub style accommodation but fresh delicious and really interesting and different. Breakfast was of really good quality with a range of continental and with a brilliant range of quality continental and really interesting cooked options. The sourdough toast was tasty and beautifully crisp and the marmalade some of the best I have tasted in a long time I would like to send my thanks to all the Staff particularly to those working in the kitchen. An amazing stay. I look forward to coming back!

Excellent location, lovely homely room and decor with thoughtful touches, excellent restaurant downstairs with a well considered and sourced menu. Good ethical and sustainability practices were clearly at the forefront of their concept and I felt that very positive and inspiring.
It was necessary to use earplugs due to people in the square outside until very late so next time I shall request a room facing a different way.

Great ambiance in the pub/hotel & very friendly, helpful staff. Loved the decor of the rooms - reclaimed furniture, antiques & locally sourced tiles, flooring etc. Loved the simple, yet elegant style e.g. the lime plastered walls. The bed was super comfy! Liked the tea making facilities - choice of loose leaf teas to use with compostable tea bags. A lot of thought has gone into everything about this hotel.

Great location, spacious apartment over two floors with beautiful simple stylish interiors. Lovely west facing terrace .
We have a bunch of teenagers so TV’s would have been good, the projector and screen were great - once we’d bought the cable to connect to a laptop. Parking is a bit annoying- remembering to call up at 8am - a parking permit or prepayment option to cover the duration of stay would be good.

Fabulous apartment at the top of High St. Photos don’t do it justice. Plenty of room for our whole family, big kitchen and beautiful outdoor patio with a long table for summer evenings. We also really appreciated their commitment to eco-conscious products and operations - bravo! Our dinner at the Inn was fantastic as well. We look forward to our next visit!
