Ease of use, excellent value, good location for visiting multiple places, good parking, excellent golf and landscaping, very quiet at night, good breakfast, rooms recently redecorated and fit for purpose.

Leather chairs in bar area were all very worn and too shabby chic. First impressions and the reception area inside and out were the worst part of the hotel. They were low rent and uniquely old fashioned in appearance. However, once you learnt your way around you never entered through reception and used a door near the golf shop, which was fine and that was connected to the better part of the hotel and spa area.

So we didn't purposely plan to stay at this hotel, we're not golfers and only needed a place to stay over night so we could collect our baby tortoise. Figured finding a place with a gym and a pool made sense and booked here. The initial reaction to the place was ok, then I changed my mind to loving it on the basis of how great the staff are, how clean it is, how good the food is and the beds are so comfortable. I'd definitely stay again if I ever need to buy another tortoise 😂 as for golf I'm very jealous of the 70+ year old ppl doing it, it's something I need to look into 😊

Room, adequate size, clean and well prepared, bed comfortable, tea making okay but had to scrounge fresh milk. Evening meal good, nicely prepared and presented without being fussy Breakfast very good with wide choice more than adequate amount, all freshly prepared Reception straight forward with polite interesting chat and clear information

Pillow choice could have been better, Television was a bit wee by todays standards, not that we did much watching.

Clean pleasan room with good bathroom. The dinner and service we had with the funeral party on Wednesday night was extremely good.

The hotel and our room were very lacklustre in decor. Opting out of room service means we didn't have any milk or tea for next morning; we should have thought of that. We wasted ages trying to book in online as requested. After 10 attempts we gave up and receptionist said it had been troublesome for a long time. So why don't you take it offline until its fixed?

Breakfast was good and in a very pleasant room

On our last day we asked for a gluten free tuna sandwich to take away. Our elderly father is coeliac and has Parkinson's disease and couldn't eat it straight away as he had to wait after taking tablets. When he did unwrap it later it was a cheese sandwich which we do not think was on gluten free bread as he was ill after eating it. These things happen but thought you ought to know as it could have been more serious.

Large bedroom and bathroom; firm but comfortable mattress; nice view from bar/terrace; although pretty standard bar food, it was tasty enough; generally a nice atmosphere and staff were friendly

Room was hot and could only open one window slightly but eventually cooled down. Could do with more of a deep clean of communal areas - lots of cobwebs on light fittings, carpets in some parts have seen better days, tables on terrace not cleaned so attracted wasps

Location was good, breakfast was good. All staff were excellent and always very helpful, from reception to bar and waiting staff. The walk in shower was superb and having a lift down to the rooms was an asset.

There could have been better noise/ acoustic installation. Generally the hotel looked very tired and could do with updating. Beds were uncomfortable and the pillows could be a better quality. Didn’t like having to walk through the middle of the dining area with luggage after booking in to get to rooms.

Room very pleasant, comfortable and clean. Nice modern large shower room with attractive tiles. Two easy chairs. Breakfast, a quite well organised buffet. Nice larger sitting area with view. Pool and spa good.

Slight tile mould. Paint on wardrobe could do with a touch-up. Didn't alter our overall enjoyment Men's changing rooms floor could do with better drainage to sort out tiling standing water

Great welcome from staff, great room with plenty of hanging space/storage. Amazingly comfortable bed. Ideal location for visiting the area and plenty of parking. The meals were delicious. The pool looked really inviting and my regret is that I didn't have time to take advantage of it.

Unfortunately we had to wait an hour and a half one evening for our meal as the waiter had forgotten to put it through and once they realised they still took a while which spoilt our evening as I can't eat late.

The staff were very friendly and attentive. Everyone said hello or good morning to you. The spa area was often busy- but clean and relaxing. The surrounding greenery was lovely. We had a great mini break.

Honestly not much! The beds are very hard, I have a disability and it wasn’t a restful night because of the hard bed unfortunately. If I was being picky the breakfast was a little overpriced for what is offered. The veggie sausages weren’t nice and a bit more choice at breakfast would have been better. The staff were lovely though.
