The host, Jonathan was very welcoming and happy to chat about the possibilities of where to eat and visit around Dartmouth. He checked each day whether I had everything I needed in my room, and kindly gave me a lift to the town centre on my check out day (I travelled by traIn). My single room was clean, comfortable and overlooking a back lane in a quiet neighbourhood. The facilities in the room and bathroom (tea, coffee, soap etc) were excellent and there was a decent amount of space for my belongings (I was on a hiking trip). The breakfasts were also great - an array of filling and healthy continental options were available. I really enjoyed the fruit covered granola and porridge, plus hot croissants.

I’ve got no complaints other than the property was a short walk from the centre of Dartmouth (which I knew when I booked).

The property is located over several floors and has been very tastefully decorated. Lovely touches with great pictures & books on display. Jonathan ensure you have a comfortable stay & is engaging with you a guest. He wanted to make sure we had everything we needed for a good stay. The choice for breakfast is on the continental side but plenty of choices on offer.

Nothing for us but others maybe should be aware that there are steep steps at the rear of the property to get in however from the front street is is a steady slope.

The host Jonathan was exceptionally kind and helpful, offering to pick us up from Dartmouth pier when it looked like there was ongoing roadworks which meant that we couldn't take a direct route from Totnes to Dartmouth, and would have had to take a round trip to Kingswear and cross over to Dartmouth by ferry. I really enjoyed the hearty continental breakfast the host prepared each morning. The homemade granola and plenty of fresh fruits was particularly appreciated. The ambience at breakfast was also nice and relaxing with jazz playing in the background. The room, which was a good size and comfortable, was nicely appointed with vintage furniture.

The hot water tap for the basin was scolding hot.

The room is nice and has everything one can ask for. The host is very helpful and friendly. He makes a good breakfast. (Me being a coffee snob I would recommend him to get an espresso machine) it is a place where you feel welcome.

I can only say the coffee and some little issues like the fabric of the towel or the size of the shower cabin. It is not a new house. You hear your neighbors inside and outside. But I would definitely recommend to stay there.

Everything. The property is your typical quaint coastal home. Cosy. Comfortable and so clean and quiet. Jonathan was so helpful from the time of booking through to checking out. We were well looked after and well informed of the area. A great recommendation of Jonathan’s was The Seven Stars Pub. Wonderful, friendly bar staff and food!

Jonathan went above and beyond our expectations.Couldnt have been more helpful. Room was lovely, spotlessly clean and very well equipped although up several flights of stairs which was fine for us but wouldn't be suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

Bit of a steep hill to the property.

Jonathan, our host, is the loveliest person you can imagine ! He always made sure we didn’t miss anything, made breakfast to take away, helped us in so many ways. We felt as welcome as we were family. So generous. The room was spotless, the decoration very cute and the location was perfect. Thanks a lot again !

Great location, spotlessly clean, nicely decorated with attention to detail throughout. Modern but in keeping with Devons quaint charm. The host, Johnathan couldn’t do more for us, nothing was a bother. have already recommended to family members and would absolutely return. You can tell this b&b is ran with love and care, you couldn’t give your money to a nicer person.

That work commitments couldnt allow me to stay longer!

This property is a little gem. Jonathan could not do enough for us and went above & beyond to make us comfortable. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and there are many items in the property that bring back childhood memories… that was a treat. There is plenty of breakfast available with a good choice (continental). Can highly recommend Jonathan’s homemade granola with fruit. We really enjoyed our stay at Hill House view and hope to make a return journey when we are next in Dartmouth. Thank you Jonathan for a lovely stay.

there really isn’t much to dislike.

The host is great and very helpfull, polite and kind. He even took me to my car and back and for a small tour. He also helped me with good advice for further sights. I was embarrest having been presented a book about old houses and castles in England. I follow the books advice now and I habe seen marvellous castles. Thank yo so much and I come back!
