A lovely overnight stay. Everything was so clean and spotless. All staff were so friendly, the only disappointment was having to pay for a hot breakfast if we wanted it, cold buffet breakfast was included in the bed and breakfast price.

Excellent hotel. . Room had a fabulous view. Staff lovely and very helpful. Cocktails great.

The roads leading to the hotel were awful. it was a shame about the restaurant. We had an evening meal and 3 breakfasts. 80,% were cold, not a lot of choice. We used the hotel next door for food and was excellent. Such a shame. Our perfect hotel was often 20% full in the restaurant.

Superb location. Bedrooms-large balconies with great views, very comfortable huge bed. Living and dining areas are great. Lots of outdoor space when the weather is optimal.

Slight confusion with breakfast. Booking.com states breakfast included-it only includes continental breakfast. I understand the hotel is going to ask Booking.com to amend this detail.

This was a 60th Birthday treat for me from my Husband. Our room on arrival was very clean. The bedding was spotless and the pillows very comfy. The temperature was just right. Aircon working well when required. The bathroom was exceptionally clean with lovely fluffy towels. Loved the colours and decor. The balcony was lovely looking straight out to the sea, perfect. Our evening meal was very good, food was to a high standard and well presented. Our Steaks were so tender, cooked just to our liking and delicious. Lovely hot plates helping to keep the food hot. Breakfast was very good and also to a high standard. Quality produce. The Granola was delicious. The waiting staff were very professional and always smiling. The cleaning team do a fantastic job and a credit to the Hotel. The reception team were also very professional and welcoming. Providing us with all info needed. Well done all of you. You helped to make it a very special stay. Thank you.

room was lovely. Beds great and lovely location. Front of house staff were really friendly and efficient and shuttle to Salcombe invaluable. Maybe 2 would be even better as some people couldn’t get a spot. There is a ferry to Salcombe which is also brilliant but you have to be able to get back so you need the shuttle as taxi seem as rare as hens teeth

Waiting staff were not brilliant. Slow and didn’t show any urgency - just kind of drifted around. One of them called my husband “mate” which is jarring. Another said dyou want to follow me to the bar when we ordered a drink outside. I asked for 2 tea bags in the pot to make it stronger but he came back with double the size of teapot so nothing gained!! Breakfasts were poor - no real choice just ham and processed cheese. Bit of fruit and standard pastries with a few cereals . Bread for toast doesn’t toast very well as soggy. We ate off the menu twice and not impressed either as nothing really seasoned. We had a sticky toffee pudding one night and it was claggy in the middle. Chef doesn’t seem brilliant to be honest which is such a shame as the rest of it is so good and dreamy

Hotel was fabulously chic, loved the decor and nice touches like books in room, local Atalantic Blankets and free beach yoga. Spa is nice, clean and lots of seating. Spa staff were very obliging, and managed to fit us in for a 30 min massage. Good range of cocktails and loved the continental breakfast. Quick service in the restaurant.

Paying £10 for cooked breakfast seemed mean given the cost of the stay. Although not rude, many of the welcoming, bar and waiting staff were abrupt or not very clear in communications; either talking to us whilst walking with back to us, or mumbling with no eye contact, almost like they couldn't be bothered to be there. This wasnt all staff, but was noticeable. A little lack of attention to detail such as no spoons on tables. Not overly problematic but for the price you'd expect better. On arrival we pressed the call button a couple of times, waiting to be let in to the carpark. The guy came and let us in, but not without ascertaining twice that we had indeed got a booking at the hotel. Maybe because our van wasn't a range rover like most of the other cars in the car park!

Breakfast was excellent

We were a bit disappointed with the food. We wanted something light for lunch to share, so we asked if we could have something simple like a cheese and tomato sandwich, rather than a club one as these are quite filling. The waitress was very obliging and said yes. The sandwich was brought to us on two dinner plates, half a sandwich on each, no butter on the bread and the bread was dry, no crisps or salad as you would expect. We did not complain at the time as we do not like to make a fuss, but I think to charge £12, we did have fries a swell, for two slices of dry bread, one slice of processed cheese and a few sliced tomatoes is excessive. We would pay that willingly if a round of sandwiches were pleasantly presented. This would not deter us from staying there again.

We absolutely loved the location of the hotel, mostly the reason why we picked it. Right on the beach and parking which is a bonus. Our room was fab, the bed was the most comfortable we have ever had I think. Hotel was clean and staff were polite and friendly.

We weren't overly impressed with the breakfast, you could have a continental breakfast which was included in the price but if you wanted anything extra (i.e. eggs on toast) you had to pay extra. We paid extra but the scrambled eggs on toast were nothing special. We also ate in the hotel the night before and again, it was OK but nothing special.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful – from the stunning views and stretch of beach to the luxurious spa facilities and incredibly comfy beds. But what truly made this trip exceptional was the staff. From the warm welcome at reception and the helpful, friendly porter to the attentive wait staff who treated me to a mini wine tasting when I couldn’t decide from the impressive wine list – every single team member went above and beyond with genuine friendliness. They even offered to store our paddle boards for us. It’s all the thoughtful little touches that set this place apart: a warm welcome email ahead of our stay, being allowed to use the spa facilities before check-in, a great selection of books in the room, Salcombe Gin waiting for us, and room service delivering ice for our G&Ts unprompted. Even with mixed weather, we had the best time. Our dinner was outstanding – we especially loved the tuna steak and monkfish. We’ll most definitely be back. Highly recommended.
