We were upgraded to a sea view automatically as they had spare rooms on the front. We asked for this at a previous hotel & was declined ! So big win here. The bedroom was very comfortable with a large balcony overlooking the gardens with a great view of the sea. Complimentary Nespresso in the room gets a thumbs up from me. The dining room decked out like a cruise ship looked 5 star. Breakfast was excellent both days - Caroline was great. Although I booked knowing there was a spa, I didn’t expect that! :-) Location to golf, beaches & beachouse was fantastic . The Village Inn was a bonus venue & very comfortable. An alternative for food or a drink. Loved the decor & roaring log fires through hotel. Plenty free parking. I can only imagine, in the summer the outdoor facilities are a big hit with families. Don’t worry we’re coming back!

Very disappointed with the evening meal in the dining room. It was a special occasion (although we hadn’t made a fuss about this). When we came to order our main courses (there were 4 of us) two of the dishes were not available and there was one portion of lamb left. I ended up having a dish I didn’t want and my wife had the lamb which was disgracefully tiny, hardly a slice. This was most disappointing particularly at the prices charged. In contrast the meal we had the night before in the pub was plentiful, delicious and half the price.

Clean, smart, beautiful decor!

At breakfast we couldn’t choose where to sit and were ushered to the furthest table from the buffet, right in the corner with no view despite there being plenty of free tables with views. This seemed was such a pity as we had been looking forward to breakfast with a view and couldn’t see out! My Mum is in her 80s and found the walk to and fro to get her breakfast a bit tedious! We politely asked if we could be seated elsewhere and were told no!

A lovely hotel in a beautiful setting with a view of the sea. It has a friendly feel with nearly all the staff saying hello and smiling. Everyone was keen to answer any queries we had. The bedroom was spacious and clean with a large balcony and chairs to sit and take in the view. The spa facilities are very good, we both had a massage which was expertly done. The food in both the restaurant and the pub was excellent, we will definitely visit again.

The service, location and ambience of the hotel were all amazing - staff were so welcoming and friendly and it felt as though nothing was too much trouble. The location is fantastic for a walk to Bantham and across to Bigbury by ferry where you can have a lovely walk around Burgh Island and an essential trip to the Pilchard Inn.

All the staff are very welcoming and the facilities are excellent. We had delicious food all weekend and had a very relaxing time using the spa. The views from the restaurant are quite breathtaking and even at this time of year the gardens were very tidy and looking beautiful .

Breakfast was great - lovely buffet and cooked options very nice too, Caroline was lovely with the children. Room was fantastic ( sea view suite) for family - lots of room and everything we could need. Really comfortable which was a relief as it rained a lot and we were inside more than we might have expected. The 'family kitchen' next door with facility top re -heat food /drinks and even do washing if needed - is an amazing help and the playrooms were an unexpected and fantastic addition to the accommodation.My boys ( 6 and 10) adored the 'big rollers' room and it made a wet stay really straightforward. The indoor pool with hydrotherapy pool and thermal suite was the most fantastic facility my family have experienced at a hotel and we really enjoyed it. I had a spa treatment whilst at the hotel - with Ali - which was excellent, Overall an amazing stay, Thankyou

Evening meal and food at breakfast was very good indeed; dinner slightly spoiled by being forgotten and having to chase up the lone waitress still serving when others appeared to have left her to cope (which she managed with exceptional good grace all things considered)

Just a small thing, the towels in the spa were very small. The lighting in the bedroom, difficult to see to put makeup on.

Great venue - great facilities & the staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and breakfast was amazing.

Double bed booked for room was actually 2 singles pushed together which for the money for room wasn't great.
