I have been staying at the Rose and Crown for a number of years when on business in the Plymouth area and would highly recommend to stay either for work or on holiday. The staff are always very welcoming and helpful, in particular Sarah Jane, who has been there for a number of years is always very customer focused as well as having a good knowledge of the local area, she is always available to help you with and advise on places to visit especially for those on holiday. Rooms are always to a high standard and kept very clean.

We stayed the night before travelling to Tintagel castle in the morning. The staff was very welcoming. They also managed to find us a table to enjoy dinner that night despite being full. Room was nice and cozy, bed was confortable and we had a great night of sleep. The bathroom, on the other hand, felt too small and cheap in comparison. Breakfast in the morning was simple, but good enough to start the day. Overall was a good stay, but I'd have expected a little bit more for the price.

We had a few issues with the wifi. It was a bit inconsistent during the evening. However, we had issues with internet in every place we stayed during our 4 day trip across Devon, so we assume the internet is not very reliable in the area.

The location was perfect, great food on Friday night in the pub, lovely room and fabulous breakfast

In our room we could hear a constant alarm beeping , it went on all night through to the next day. It wasn't in our room but from somewhere nearby in one of the other unused rooms and quite loud. We feel this may need checking out as considering the location everywhere else was beautifully quiet, the constant alarm was incredibly annoying.

The room was warm and clean, the facilities in the room were fine and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and well proportioned. The dinner and breakfast were excellent very enjoyable and the staff on both shifts were very helpful and efficient.

The heating in my bathroom was not sufficient, I had to use a separate portable heater to boost the temperature to be comfortable for showering etc. There was also some damp near my bed behind a bedside cabinet I had to move to plug in a charger which did make the room smell a little damp. Not bad enough to be asked for a move though.

The pub/hotel is located on the left hand side of the A379 going away from Plymouth just before the petrol station. Check in from 15.00hrs, which was quick and easy and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Free parking on site. The room was located in the ex police station building a little farther on. It was comfortable, with free wifi. The food both in the evening and breakfast was excellent. Breakfast is from 07.30am.

Nothing really except as a business traveller, I would prefer breakfast to be from 07.00am. However, I would recommend The Rose and Crown and would stay here again.

All the staff were great, the food in the Rose and crown was delicious at both breakfast and dinner. We had room 8 on the top floor with vaulted ceiling, it really was a lovely room, spacious great views and so comfortable loved it. In the bathroom there was a roll top bath and a walk in shower. There is also reserved parking for hotel guests in the carpark.

There was an issue with the hot water in the bathroom, it wasn't that it ran cold it just stopped running altogether, at a guess I would think this is possibly when other guests on the lower floors turned their hot taps on, I did report this on checkout so hopefully it will be sorted for future guests, after saying that I would still want to be in the same room as it was fab

The room was comfortable. Dinner was average pub food but well priced. Breakfast was spot and the room was well appointed. Parking was important as we arrived a little late and there was still loads of room in the large car park.

I disliked nothing all was good and within the budget. Only one small problem was with the windows in our bedroom, they suffered from an excessive amount of condensation.

A last minute booking to see family. The room was exceptional, totally private in a separate building from the pub. You would not know anyone else was staying there - it was so quiet. The pub food (more adventurous than your typical pub fare) was excellent and the service was also. Everything had been thought of. A true gem. Would love to return.

very clean rooms and super friendly staff allowed us to check in a little early after travelling 5hrs to get there. beds were supper comfortable very clean and tidy and homfee.nice breakfast the next morning. will definitely stay again though when next in the area.

was a shame their pub wasn't open on our stay but closed due to refurbishment and we didn't no till after booking. can't be helped.

Staff were lovely, breakfast and food were excellent, comfy bed, everything was clean. The pub was gorgeously decorated for Christmas and had a lovely atmosphere.

There were only 2 plug sockets in the whole room which were on the opposite side of the room to the bed, we had to unplug the kettle and coffee machine to charge our phones but in the grand scheme of things this was a minor gripe.
