Firstly the staff are so welcoming and friendly, they all made our break comfortable and relaxing . The overall settings, room, public areas and spa areas where well thought out and well presented, very comfortable sofas! The food and beverages were both well priced and enjoyable, definitely value for money. We look forward to returning.

We personally would like more tea and milk in room and bigger cups. Not a complaint we just like lots of tea in the morning.

Beautiful peaceful surroundings. The bedrooms were extremely comfortable and quiet although the decor was perhaps a little dated. The leisure facilities were excellent. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful.

The WiFi wouldn't work in our room. They did offer to move us but it wasn't a big problem to us so didn't bother. The vegetarian options were very limited and the veggie burger was a little dry. More options would have been appreciated as it was for that reason we only had an evening meal once. The breakfast was plentiful but again a little old fashioned, tinned fruit and tinned tomatoes, and only fried egg, but that is personal taste. Having said that, there was a good choice of cereals, yoghurt, 2 types of fruit juice and plentiful hot breakfast, toast and delicious pasties. On balance it was fine.

We had a large ‘honeymoon’ room which was great, with a lovely view. The bathroom was also large, and the shower was really good. Breakfast was a good experience, and their food was always really good. We ate in the bar area, which had the same menu as the restaurant. The bar staff and the servers were always helpful and polite, and the food was good. A special mention for the Duck Spring Rolls, that were really good, recommended !

Not much. We did run out of shower gel, and it was not restocked. When I asked for some, I was given everything else. Not a big deal.

The grounds the peacefulness. Reception were terribly kind friendly and informative. The room was shared but also divided by a wall for privacy. Over all it was a great stay. We stayed longer the next morning using the pool and facilities, while my eldest read in one of the reception rooms. We stayed for snacks and a coffee before starting on the long journey home, having spent a few days with family in France.

Breakfast, the lady clearly knew all of the golfers which gave a friendly atmosphere.. she worked alone and it was a busy morning. The Breakfast was very standard which didn't seem to match the expectations set on arrival and the experience we had up to this point. The toast took for ever and a regular golfing table shouted over that I'd have to put it through 3 or 4 times if I wanted to see any colour on it. A little frustrating when we're a family of 4 and all want toast. Constantly up and down eating colder and colder tomatoes and egg wasn't how I expected to spend my morning.

the room was absolutely huge, we found that an amazing surprise. the staff were all so kind and friendly, we both had a massage and the women who did it for the pair of us were so lovely. the dinner was lush, breakfast was slightly expensive for what is was. but the experience was incredible. we spent most of our time in the pool which again was brilliant. and the tv in the room worked well.

breakfast cost more than i think it should have, and for the massage could have been longer again for the price paid. our bath had a problem with the water draining while the plug was in.

The room was massive and very clean and the view of the golf course was beautiful. The pool and changing facilities were excellent. The breakfast staff were very friendly and so kind and the food choice was great. My children and I had a nice stay for one night.

Your hotel is so beautiful, but the front door really lets it down, it looks like a conservatory door, I think it cheapened the whole look of a gorgeous building. There was a tube coming out of the toilet near the flush with a clear dome over the top which was dirty on the inside, I think it was a plumbing quirk but it didn’t look the best. The mattresses may be needing replacing soon, they were better than a hotel I stayed in recently, but they still weren’t the best. I think the reception staff need two on at a time on weekends, they were very busy and I could feel their stress at being pulled from one task to another.

We stayed for the second time at this property. We like the it's tranquil country side location and the proximity to lots of tourist attractions in Devon and Cornwall. The room was spacious and clean and had a partial golf course view. The restaurant had some good main meal options and we dined there one evening. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate with a great choice of food. The staff was attentive and helpful with all of our enquiries.

Everything. Friendlynhelpful staff, in an amazing location. Walked around the grounds in the evening. We booked one night but extended for two. The food is really good too! Didnt get a chance to use the swimming pool, but will do next time we stay. Amazing views across the parkland from our room. Early evening when the golfers thinned out, we looked out of our room window to see about twenty youn deer about a hundred foot away. Magical :) thank you every one

Great people working in Reception, very welcoming. Our request for a preferred room was met. Our evening meal was very enjoyable in the restaurant. Good bar area and service was efficient.

Unfortunately the changing rooms for the pool area had no showers working in the male area and the ladies smelt badly, we reported this. The next day they shut the pool area to carry out essential work, perhaps related to this. So we missed our final morning swim, which was a little disappointing for us.

Love the location and the golf course. Pub food and breakfast is always good! Also like the features of the period property. Staff very nice.

PLEASE can you get the wifi sorted! We find it to be the only frustrating thing about the hotel - the weak/lack of connection! We have been giving the same feedback for the last couple of years but nothing has changed. We visit the hotel regularly but sadly this may impact our decision to stay next time.
