I booked this stay last minute due to a work commitment, and I was so impressed with how smooth and responsive the communication was, even on such short notice. Upon arrival, I received a lovely warm welcome and was shown to my room, which was absolutely spotless. There were thoughtful touches everywhere — a great selection of complimentary hot drinks, a fridge with cold milk, and even a fan provided, which was perfect as it was a particularly hot evening. Everything I could have needed was taken care of without me having to ask. I had an amazing night’s sleep in a comfortable bed, followed by a hot, refreshing shower in the morning. To top it all off, I received a kind and friendly farewell from the owner. Highly recommend this stay — efficient, comfortable, and genuinely welcoming. A real gem!

Barbican Reach is excellently located for the historic Barbican, Citadel, Seafront, City Centre and it's easy transport links - all really important to me as a pedestrian. The Guest House is very well presented, clean and with everything in your room you could need, without the clutter of all the things you might not. The owners are truly nice people who want to do all they can to help make your stay comfortable and your visit to Plymouth the best it can be, with helpful guidance on sights and scenes, best places to enjoy a beer or a meal, and how to get where you want to be. They have an innate ability to be the hosts best suited to each guest. And Breakfast has to have it's own comment. Having stayed in guest houses and hotels across Britain I can honestly say the Barbican Reach breakfast is simply the best. Home cooked to perfection, each individual order is so well presented and in quantities ideal to set you up for your day. And the real special 'Raft' dishes have that extra ingredient of love and care to bring out the wonderful balance of flavours and textures from the ingredients that make up each.

The worst part was that I had to go home. I'm missing the Guest House already. Worse, I had to cook my own breakfast this morning!

It was my second time staying at barbican reach guest house and will not be my last, I had a fantastic time. The hosts Sue and Rob are always so warm and welcoming and ensure that you have everything you need during your stay with extra little touches. The rooms have everything you need for your stay and the location is perfect, local shops, pubs, restaurants, bars, the sea (which is my favourite). So glad I found this accommodation and would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful stay.

Rob and Sue are fantastic people, and their hospitality is worth the stay - the only regret for me and my son was that we did not take the time to talk to them more. So our stay and perhaps the Barbican Reach is more defined by their special kindness than the usual details of a guest house. But...indeed the location of the Barbican Reach is perfect, within the historic part of Plymouth, with cobbled streets and a sense of a fascinating past that the rest of Plymouth lack. We walked to a very good restaurant in the harbor. We had a room with a separate toilet (which was not very convenient but we booked late): all was functional and clean. We also had a good view from our room on the old, steep roofs of the Barbican (and the somewhat bleak rest of Plymouth). Breakfast was excellent, with Rob's version of the Royal Navy's Cheesy Hammy Eggy - my 13-year old son was impressed and used all his English to thank Rob.

Sue and Rob were lovely and very welcoming, they helped us with the parking and moved there car so we could park in thee spot. The room was nice and clean and had everything we could of needed. Coffee, tea and biscuits.

There was nothing I could say that was bad about it. The room was nice and private with the blackout blind and curtains. It is also in the perfect location with everything you could need within walking distance.

Sue & Rob were very welcoming and very helpful with all sorts of tips about where to eat and what to do. They were also very helpful with the parking. The B&B is located perfectly right by all the action in the old town without the inconvenience of the noise. It was perfect also for catching the water taxi the next day at the marina.

A delightful B&B conveniently located in relation to Plymouth attractions. Both proprietors extremely obliging and helpful ensuring that the guests maximize their holiday experience. The breakfast is outstanding.

Car Parking in vicinity of the Hoe is challenging. However the workaround provided made the situation acceptable.

It’s a perfect location to the Barbican, the welcome you receive is second to none. A really happy and welcoming place that feels like home. The breakfast is delicious, the black pudding has to be tried, all from a local butcher and cooked to bring out the flavours and texture.

There is nothing not to like. I stayed here several years ago and the continuity of the service and welcome the second time around did not disappoint. If and when I visit Plymouth again, I will be returning.

Location was amazing, room was great too. Rob & Sue were very accommodating and helpful in getting my girlfriend and I settled in. They went to great lengths making us comfortable and informing us of the neighborhood, city and all they had to offer - and all at a fair price. I highly recommend staying with them.

Only two things I didn't like were the size of the shower and lack of fan in the room. Other than that, it was fantastic. I may just be used to the way I do things at home because these were only small things.

Communication was excellent. Greeted on arrival and parking was sorted by the host prior to my arrival. The accommodation location was excellent with it being a two minute walk to the Barbican or The Hoe. I will definitely use this accommodation again.
