Good sized room, sofa. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was very good.
Attic room, very stuffy. A door on to a very shabby balcony which would have been good to be able to open. The bed wasn't great, a foam topper which wasn't on straight so felt bumpy. We had to strip and remake the bed. Rather strange cupboard with room to hang clothes at one end but it was more like a broom cupboard and housed a vacuum cleaner! Room was a bit shabby. I was expecting something a bit more up market so was disappointed.

The room was a good size reasonable decor and the bed comfortable. There was a small kettle with a selection of beverages and some biscuits. Very welcome after a long journey. The property is situated between the Hoe and the town centre and there's a Tesco Express not too far away.
The shower had a small leak which lead to some mold developing around the corners. The duvet was too heavy for a warm summer's night. A common fault with hotels I find. I had to ask twice for a simple top sheet, which was delivered and I slept much better on the second and third night.

Lovely apartment with beautiful features. Loved the up lighting in the ceiling beams. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were lovely, they couldn't do enough. They even made us fresh beans as it was nearly closing time for breakfast and there were no beans.
Only thing that could do with being sorted is the wall lamps in the living room, the bulbs need replacing. On booking.com it says there are toiletries and there aren't, so we couldn't shower but it was only an overnight stay, so not too much of a problem. My brother is 6ft 2 and the single bed was a bit short for him.

My 'room' was a little studio flat with my own front door key, but close to main hotel. It was wonderful. Huge bedroom / lounge with King Size bed, sofa, desk & chair, so much room! Further down the hall was a beautiful bathroom. I'm disabled & had particularly bad mobility problems whilst I was at the hotel. Upon arrival, Faye was EXCEPTIONALLY helpful towards me. What a really lovely young lady ;) She's one of the people who really want to help others. The following morning, I met Rachel, the manager. She was also SO kind & helpful. Walked my dog for me as my legs were so bad. Faye also took care of me in the morning & both ladies, so kindly, took things to my car for me & picked up / discarded of some rubbish. I was overwhelmed by a few things ongoing in my life, including my lack of mobility, & was allowed to stay in hotel car park for around one hour, until I felt 'safe' to drive. I was in a hire car, really dislike reversing & was anxious, due to car being hired. Faye helped me to reverse out. The breakfast was outstanding!! Cooked so well. The 'room' (small flat!) I stayed in was so immaculate, modern & spacious. The staff were very welcoming to my little dog who doesn't like strangers. Overall, a brilliant stay. Can't fault a thing. KIND people as management & staff make ALL THE DIFFERENCE!!! :) It doesn't take a lot to be kind & helpful to your guests. However, I've never experienced anything anywhere near as kind & helpful as I experienced in this hotel. Recommend this hotel so much!!!
Nothing could have been better on this occasion at this hotel!

The staff were friendly and flexible, helping me with my late check in over the phone. I stayed in the single room which was surprisingly spacious, bright, warm and had a good en suite bathroom with a great shower. The bed was REALLY comfy; bliss. The buffet breakfast was delicious. Well located just a short walk from the city centre.
Some of the pictures in the room in were a quite sunfaded and could do with replacing to make the room more colourful. Lots of information on various little signs and cards around the room which made it cluttered - perhaps it would be good to put all this information all in a welcome folder?

Very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast. Only downside is that they now charge extra for parking which was always free before

Rachel and Faye in reception bring the Imperial to life. Their warm smiles and friendliness make this a homely and lovely B and B. Rachel is an excellent front office manager and ensures the establishment is run really well. The property is in an excellent location for shopping, walks on the Hoe and the many attractions of the Barbican. Beds were so comfy and towels were plush and cosy. Buffet breakfast was very good quality. Rooms were clean and really comfortable. It has a home from home feel.
Shame a couple of the reception staff lacked the friendly and professional interpersonal skills of Rachel and Faye.

I travelled to Plymouth with my sister to visit family. The Imperial is in a perfect location, near the Hoe and city centre. All the staff are efficient and friendly, Rachel who runs the B&B is professional, friendly and does her best to accommodate any stay requests. The room we stayed in was large and clean, the bathroom enormous, clean the and shower easily adjustable from mild to raging torrent (certainly enough to wake you up). Breakfast was a buffet with offerings of toast, fruits, yoghurts, cereals and full English. We did miss out on the croissants and pains au chocolat some mornings. Tea and fresh percolated coffee was available which I had quite a lot of. We are planning our next stay there for 2025. We have never returned to a hotel or B & B for a second time but this is the one for us. Thanks to the staff who dealt with checking in for being so patient when our coach arrival time got later and later (9 hours travel time!) Way beyond reception closing time.
Our room had dried out water stains on one wall and a bit of the ceiling, possibly from a leak upstairs. It could do with painting over. There are lots of parking spaces to the front and rear of the building but they are in a grid pattern. As we are driving to Plymouth next time, we expect to play a bit of parking Jenga. Apart from this we had the best stay ever.

Super clean, lovely big room, shower was high pressure (possibly the best hotel shower I’ve had?) staff were super helpful and friendly and breakfast was pretty good. Value for money with the location was great too.
The door to the balcony bit was locked, and the room was a little tired but for the money not complaining at all! Everything was spotless so it really didn’t matter. There was a bit of a pickle about paying cash as didn’t have any change at reception but luckily we had pretty much the exact amount, not really a problem but maybe should be a little clearer that they’re really card only as we would have made sure to have had the funds on card rather than cash if we’d known, staff were really helpful about it and accommodating though, absolutely no fault of their own!

Towels were soft, bed was comfy, breakfast was mostly good (especially the coffee and larger sized glasses for juice), location convenient for station, staff friendly and accommodating (offered to make fresh scrambled eggs for us), out of hours check-in was seamless.
Need black out blinds, tiny tv, need conditioner as well as shampoo to be provided, not as close to university as stated (more a booking.com thing though and partially due to works in centre/roads being closed), eggs at breakfast were rubbery and unappealing
