Super friendly staff at the bar and at check in the evening we arrived. The room is compact, but had all the facilities for our one night stay, and the en suite shower room was excellent. The bed was comfy and despite the restaurant being fully booked with 92 guests and a stag party, we had a completely undisturbed nights sleep. Although we didn’t eat in the evening, the menu looked very good, especially the seafood options. Price for a bank holiday Friday, including a brilliant cooked breakfast, was very competitive. A short stroll down the road to the beautiful beach and views over the river Avon.

Not complaints as none of it affected us, but things to be aware of. This is a 14th century building so there are narrow stairs to the rooms. The rooms are compact, and the ceiling in our shower would probably not suit anyone over 6ft in height. Parking is very limited during busy times. Access to the village is via a narrow , single track, road. We thought it was characterful, but if you’re picky, you might see it differently.

The Sloop Inn is in a wonderful location, just a short walk from Batham beach and quay. We were welcomed into the Inn on arrival and found our room well located with a good view down to the estuary. Rooms are well proportioned with modern, nautical decor. The bed was well-sized and comfortable and the bathroom well-appointed. Dinner was excellent and like the rest of the stay, very good value, with the chef / landlord making a particular effort to ensure guests were happy in the evening.

Just for information, parking is very limited (although it was possible to find an overnight space) and guests should expect to park in the main beach car park if arriving during the day. This is an old building and walls / floors are thin - noise travels from the bar and restaurant below and also between rooms! The cooked breakfast (included) was good but other choices were limited (no fruit, yoghurt for example, limited cereals). Those awful butter portions! The lady serving breakfast was clearly not mentally present, she failed to greet us on arrival and service was perfunctory at best, a big contrast to what we had received in the bar and restaurant the previous evening. Attention is required also to cleaning of the bathrooms.

Location was fabulous..The beach is amazing The staff were really friendly especially tom who couldn't do enough for the group. Breakfast was fabulous freshly cooked and local produce. The pub is a proper old fashioned and was decorated fabulously with Xmas decos.

The pub could of had a area where seating was more relaxed like a couple of sofas to chill and relax. The food was great but maybe a few more vegetables on menu. This time of year December pub is on winter hours so it's a bit of a problem if go in a group as no communal area to go to sit as don't always want to go to the rooms until you go out..

Lovely room with a fantastic en-suite. Bed was so comfortable & all spotlessly clean. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate & biscuits available in room. Also shower gel, body lotion etc. The pub is wonderful & the manager is so lovely & friendly. The food was divine! We had the fish pie which was totally delicious & really good portion size too. The apple crumble & bread & butter pudding was great too! Breakfast had a good selection & the full English was so good, we did not eat all day. Would 100% recommend staying here.

A female member of staff, on out last morning, was quite sharp. We went to sit at the breakfast table where we had dined on the previous morning. There was a place setting missing so my friends moved a setting from another table. She was quite officious and told us that we should have sat elsewhere. I understand that the pub has just appointed a new assistant manager. I think that it would be a good idea to mark the tables with guests' names in future. I would add that other guests remarked on her manner. Nasty drains smell on the last evening.

Excellent local fresh produce. Staff welcoming and efficient. Good to have on-site free parking - nothing else nearby. Good variety of products on hospitality tray. Good base for walks and beach.

Minor issues (budget room). Sockets not well placed - had to boil kettle on floor as lead not long enough to reach from hospitality tray. It appeared that mugs and glasses washed in bathroom rather than taken away and changed. Clean towels occasionally had residual stains even though laundered. Mattress past its best.

One of, if not THE best inns I stayed at during my trip through the sout west of England. A very cosy room with a comfortable bed, all necessary appliances, a nice clean bathroom and very forthcoming hosts. Since I had to leave earlier than the normal breakfast time, they made me a breakfast tray that the brought to me the night before (with toaster and a winecooler for the milk etc.). Such a nice gesture. Would definitely stay there again!

Great hosts and a great quiet spot to get away. Good food and good beer. Friendly atmosphere and dog friendly. Would love to return for a holiday trip rather than work.

This is by no means a complaint. The entire village has no mobile network coverage and whilst the Sloop Inn does have free wifi it did cut out a couple of times for a few seconds. Ordinarily this wouldn't be an issue but if like me you're travelling for work it could make 'working from home' difficult.

Location was excellent, as part of an old pub. Room, although tiny, was adequate for a couple of night's stay. Evening meals, were excellent. Wide choice, local fare, promptly served with decent sized portions. The fish on Friday, at £10 was a bargain. Breakfasts were also good, with a wide choice od cooked breakfast, all deliciously put together.

Considering the cost ( £220 for two nights B & B ), it was a good deal.

Friendly staff, excellent food, car parking, Dog Friendly, and 2 minutes to the beach. Perfect stay with your dog. The room was clean and warm. I have stayed several times recently and will continue to return as it suits my needs perfectly.

Nothing to dislike as long as you remember you are staying in a hotel that was built 100's of years ago and full of character.
