We love this hotel! The best in Plymouth for value for money. We could stay in a B&B but bringing our dog, and having such a great bar along with great music in a fun environment is amazing.

It is too hot in the rooms - please can there be better air conditioning or at least fans

We loved everything about the Moxy. We had booked late in the day due to an unsatisfactory experience at the hotel we had originally booked (see another of my reviews). Arriving at the Moxy was like a breath of fresh air. Our first point of contact was Bertie. He made us feel so welcome and valued. He is definitely a big asset to the company. I should also mention the rest of the crew; each and every one of them were superbly caring and friendly and made sure our stay was perfect. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The bed was so comfortable and the facilities were superb. The hotel is ideally placed for the ferryport so we will definitely be staying here again.

We visited for our First Year Wedding Anniversary, we were welcomed by balloons and a beautiful hand written note to us on our mirror in the room, which was a really wonderful touch and started our stay off beautifully with an opportunity to have a go on the photobooth in the lobby as a token gift from The Moxy themselves to remember such a special occasion. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, very modern and well presented. It gave a beautiful cosy feeling, and felt like a space for relaxation and down time. Although we had Aircon in the room we were also given a complimentary fan too. Daily, housekeeping tended to our room, working around our belongings, but ensuring everything was clean and tidy, providing fresh towels and again a welcoming fresh space when we returned from exploring Plymouth each day. The staff were wonderful, kind and friendly, we were always met with a smile, and a welcome whenever we returned. Everyone was always on hand to help if needed, and no matter the question or request, it was met with ease and grace. We had breakfast each morning, which was a spread! There was everything from your traditional 'Full English Breakfast', to cereals, meats and cheeses, fresh fruits, warm pastries, juices, hot drinks, ice cold water and much more. Our stay at The Moxy was incredible, we would recommend staying to anyone, it was definitely worth the few hours travel, and is something we will always remember and have fond memories of!

Plymouth town isn't large, but the Moxy is perfectly located within walking distance of all of it. We made use of the pool and football tables, and I never say no to a welcome drink. The staff were all friendly. The gym is small but well decked out, makes for a very cool photo op as well!

Probably can't be helped, but one side of the building looks over a building site, and that happened to be the side our window faced. There was also a very strong sulphur/rotten egg smell in the room. If we had been staying longer, I would have mentioned it. Parking information sent before arrival was not accurate with regards to charges.

We had a lovely time staying here. It became our favourite hotel in the town very quickly. From its quirky style, welcoming atmosphere. Lovely friendly staff that make killer cocktails. The beds are so soft. Breakfast had so many options. We also played a few games in the bar area and looked through a few of the books. We will definitely be returning.

Shower only - no bathtub in our room No fridge in room. These are not essential for a comfortable stay, and they offer so much in the community space but it is handy to know as somone that likes a soak sometimes after walking all day.

Location was a nice distance from the city centre to allow it to be quiet but close enough to walk to. The staff were lovely, room was small but comfortable and had everything needed. The breakfast had a bit of pretty much anything you would like and the produce was of excellent quality. The hotel has an excellent safety protocol.

Only a couple of small things that could have been better. The air conditioning wasn’t coping with the overall heat and couldn’t get the room below 20 degrees, and the other thing I’m a bit confused over is the additional £30 on arrival deposit that wasn’t even commented on during our checking out process. I still have no idea when this might be returned as our room was left in perfect condition!

We loved staying here for the night! We checked in and was given 2 complimentary cocktails too which were absolutely delicious! It was really close to town and the Barbican only a 10/15 minute walk which was great. The hotel had a really quirky but modern feel to it with games in the communal bit and a lovely place to relax. The bar was 24/7 which was great and the staff were so lovely and friendly! Nothing was too much trouble for them and really appreciated everything!Thank-you to Bertie especially! We will definitely be returning for such a bargain getaway it was lovely!

Very nice room , airy, clean, comfy, was very hot in plymouth but room had a fan. Staff are friendly. Cleaning staff are super kind and helpful. bed was big and comfy, lots of mirrors for getting ready. Bathroom was nice.

Bring an extension lead for plugs if planning to work as the plug locations are weird and there is not a lot. The space in our room wasn't big enough for laptop but is manageable for short stay. Also the light under the bed is motion sensor and I woke my partner up going to the bathroom, maybe it can be turned off and we didn't know? otherwise great place.

I really like this hotel, it's my second year of staying with my 2 dogs and it's been a good stay again. Location is great and the rooms are a good size and clean. The staff are friendly and approachable and nothing is too much bother for them.

Parking is an issue, the car park is small and the cost is high for 24 hours, even with the hotel discount. The alternative car park isn't far away but is secluded and dark, so it's just to be prepared for that. Last year the one at the hotel had some free spaces but they were being used by people not at the hotel, so can completely understand the charge now. Otherwise no complaints!

It was very clean, very aesthetically pleasing, very calm vibe, and a breakfast was excellent.

The breakfast was monotonous. I was there for three nights and it was exactly the same thing I had to eat every day. It was very good breakfast but it gets a bit tiring eating the same thing over and over back to back. Also, the parking situation is less than Ideal because all the car parks next to the hotel are reserved only for disabled parking, which means I had to go far away to park and then drag my boxes all the way to the hotel.
