Great location for SW coast path and ferry. Room and bathroom excellent. Good breakfast

Had a bit of confusion over food available on Wednesday afternoon when I arrived. They had a carvery out and said that was only option and was available until 6.30/7. It actually was removed 4.30 and I just managed to get them to do a plate from kitchen as I had pre-paid. A normal menu was actually available after that which was not made clear at all. No kettle for tea try but one was sourced quickly.

Everything was good until we came to eat downstairs in the bar, the items on menu were not available, and there wasn’t a breakfast menu plus we had to book and pay for it before hand at £20 per person, we didn’t know what you would receive. It all felt I bit misplaced and odd. The staff were young and it felt like they were left to work out what to do with guests and food. The actual accommodation was lovely but there wasn’t definitely a misunderstanding or problem with the hospitality side of things.

There wasn’t a breakfast menu and the restaurant menu wasn’t clear.

Last minute booking after getting lost in wind, rain and darkness trying to find our self-catering property! Glad (and very relieved) to have found the Edgcumbe Arms online as we sheltered in the car. Lovely building and location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room cosy, stylish and well thought out. Bed very comfy for excellent sleep in quiet location. Shower amazing with two different heads to chose from. Kettle in room with several drinks options including bottled water and some biccies. TV, hairdryer, iron with ironing board, shower/hair stuff. Even vanity kit. Towels big enough to go round a curvy body! Good and varied options for brekkie. Car park at rear. Bus service nearby and foot ferry from beach. No disturbance from those though. Easy access to Plymouth via those if not wanting to drive. (We only used the ferry though.)

It's not really a didn't like thing but it would have been nice to have had a selection of dinner choices rather than just fish and chips on Friday and for the bar to be open later. However, we understand why as, due to the time of year, it was very quiet in the evenings. It's probably a lot different at other times of year, especially due to it's waterside setting. Didn't spoil the experience though. Would return if in the area.

Loved the decor and finishes, a very high standard and staff were friendly and engaging.

Location was nice and quiet but a bit remote for us. Breakfast was good and plentiful but bacon was very dry and sausage chewy.

Everywhere was exceptionally clean. The food was excellent and a good price as the quantity was large. The staff were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

fantastic location, only a ferry ride from Plymouth. Hotel staff were brilliant. Meals were great, try the ribs!! Arranged a breakfast basket for us to take in the car as we were leaving before the breakfast service in the morning. Dual aspect room was fantastic.

Only two choices of meals, never had what I wanted off the menu, only two options which didn’t help my weight loss journey, glad of the walking.

Staff incredibly welcoming. Room was spacious and spotless. Great tea/coffee tray and lovely toiletries in bathroom. Dinner was delicious. All excellent value.

Perfect place - quiet and wonderful location - easy ferry ride to Plymouth just across the street - nice atmosphere in the pub - great ales and Plymouth gin :)

The weather...

Very friendly staff. Ideal location for wedding at Edgecombe House. Excellent breakfast (too much lol).
