Sally and Dave the owners did a good breakfast for me every morning, 2 poached eggs with tasty bacon on toast. Beans or sausage are also available and different egg options. orange juice and a pot of tea. A selection of jams and marmalade , Original Heinz and tomato sauce also provided. extra toast and top of tea also provided if needed. Cereal and fresh fruit was also available. The room was clean with a good quality wooden furniture wardrobe with decent wooden hangers, bed, and bedside drawers. A small desk with a comfy chair also provided. Good quality bedding fresh and clean and towels provided. Plenty of lights in the room. A light switch handle became faulty and was fixed the same day. I would have preferred a harder mattress but that was my personal choice. Free Wifi was decent in the room and a good reception in all other areas of the hotel. Good quality toilet, sink and electric shower provided. Tea & Coffee facilities with biscuits provided in the room, the hosts are always happy to top up biscuits and milk cartons etc in the room. I stayed in room 4 on the 2nd floor. My stay was for a work course and I have stayed at the Mountbatten Hotel many times before.

A spacious and very light room; it was nice to have seating and a coffee table available within the room. Proximity to where we needed to get to. The city centre was approximately 35 minute walk away but by train was only 3 minutes and the train station was 2 minutes away. The Torpoint ferry was a 10 minute walk away and free for foot passengers.
The bathroom was very small in comparison to the rest of the room and the shower was quite tight. The shower wasn't self-explanatory but once we worked out which way to set it, it was fine.

The location is great, with the park opposite. On street parking easily available. Secure building. Felt very safe. Extremely lovely staff who were accommodating to my early check in. Quiet nights sleep. Comfortable bed. Tea/coffee provided was plentiful. Good value for money. Thank you.
Toilet was a little loose. Needed a little extra cleaning and dusting in places but wouldn't put me off staying again.

The owners were absolutely lovely, very friendly and welcoming. I requested a room on the first floor and was kindly given that option. Location is great, only a 10 min drive into Plymouth centre, and up to Tamar. Free parking, on a quiet road. Room was a decent size, airy and well lit, and surprisingly quiet for the number of stairs and doors on the hall.
Not a fan of feather pillows, I found these quite uncomfortable. You can't please everyone, though, and it wasn't a big deal as I only stayed one night. :)

The hosts Sally and Dave were both very welcoming and super helpful. The location was really good, I had a lovely room that overlooked a park and I wasn't that far away from the City centre. The room was spacious and very clean, the bed was comfortable and the coffee facilities in the room were kept well stocked.
The only bad thing was the guy in the room next to mine, snored like a freight train and he was so loud that it came through the wall. This isn't anything negative for the property as he was really that loud that I don't think anything would've blocked him out. I still managed to get a good night sleep though!

I am suprised this little hotel only has a 2 star rating. My room was lovely (no.2) with a huge bay window overlooking the park. The bathroom was small but had everything I needed. The owners were friendly and helpful. On street parking immediately outside the hotel was easy. (i was there at the weekend) The room was spotless and the decor was bright and modern.
Very little I didn't like. Perhaps mattress on bed could be thicker and softer? Perhaps bathroom could be modernised a bit. Perhaps hallway carpets could be modernised??? But then this hotel would be more expensive and materially not a great deal different!

We used the Mountbatten to stay while attending our sons passing out at HMS Raleigh and it was perfect. The owners were very helpful and informative and the rooms (we had 3)were large clean and comfy. It overlooks a gorgeous park with very little traffic and is close to a welcoming pub if you wish to indulge! Getting to Raleigh is very straightforward and I recommend it for those using it for that reason as well as a great little hotel 😊

The room was exquisite and of great value for money. It had a lovely view of the park and a peaceful area. The room was clean and exceeded my expectations!
The only thing I would request is a mini fridge. I brought a cooler with me to be on the safe side, and I'm glad that I did; otherwise, my drinks and food would be warm.

It is easily accessible, simple and easy through Devonport Train Station. Plymouth main station is about 30 min walk and buses are easy to figure out. The place was across lovely Devonport Park. Neighborhood was quiet. Bottom line: good price for the night. If it’s a quick trip and there is no need for frills, this is perfect. pubs near by and the ferry to cornwall’s Torpoint is 10 - 15 minutes. There is a bus station at the ferry terminal. Taxis as well.
Nothing. Some with need for accessible rooms may find stairs to upper levels difficult, but call. My room had a shower and a sink. A dedicated restroom was available. Fine by me, but call and ask for private commodes.

Very comfortable room with great views over Devonport Park. Two armchairs in room with everything provided that was needed. Comfortable bed and pillows. Easy free carparking . Welcoming hosts. Very easy walk and close proximity to the Devonport Playhouse which was our reason for visit. Quiet street
Bathroom on the small side but putting a perfectly good ensuite into the rooms of a period house is not easy and was achieved as well as possible. Good shower and fittings
