Everything was fabulous! Our accommodation was located at Royal William Yard, away from the centre of Plymouth. We stayed in one of the ground floor rooms in a stunningly, beautiful, historic building. Walking around the yard, which has been modernised in an amazing way, was such a treat. As I understand, it used to belong to the Admiralty, where staff and Naval Officers worked with all necessary storage for ships and crew. It really is a must to visit if you are ever staying in the Plymouth area! The fridge was a bonus and the ensuite was beautiful. The bedding was gorgeous and the back garden was huge! Breakfast is served in a restaurant across the grounds from the accommodation in a beautifully decorated restaurant.

My only concern is that the shower tray filled with water very quickly. I am not sure if the staff are aware?

Our room was lovely, very spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable and as our room was on the top floor of the building we had great views to the sea! The breakfast at the Bistrot across the green was delicious and the location in Royal William yard was great, there are lots of places to eat and drink (we enjoyed a beer at the Steel Brew Co and delicious fish at Hook and Line). There’s even a local sauna company (Halogi) that run sessions next door on Wednesdays and Fridays.

The top floor room was a little bit warm as we stayed in the summer, and although a fan was provided in the room it wasn’t that effective. Otherwise everything was amazing!

The location in the Royal William Yard was fantastic and just 10 mins by taxi from the train station. The restaurant and rooms are in separate buildings and full of maritime character. They face each other across a large grassy green space. The shower and bathroom toiletries were lovely. A coffee machine with 3 pods, kettle and choice of teas and hot chocolate was in the room. The breakfast menu was excellent with the choice of cooked or two lighter options available.

The room overall was great but it was a shame the bathroom bin hadn't been emptied. It was a nice touch to have water dispenser with fresh lemons and limes in the foyer of the hotel rooms. It would have been even better if it had been refilled by the time we left the next day given the warm weather.

Location, ease of checking in, grandeur of building, decor, breakfast menu choice

Housekeeping very poor: beds barely remade with duvet skewed half off and pillows still dented, cushions on the floor, water glasses not changed and toilet seemingly not cleaned. Sash windows left open and proved nearly impossible to close, needed to drag furniture around to stand on a chair, still could barely reach and took all our strength to push up - a window pole would have helped. Absent bedisde light with screwholes in wall. Full English Breakfast on 2nd morning served with pink uncooked sausages and miniscule poached eggs - size of small marshmallows!

Great location and there is a secret garden at the back with steps up to a wonderfully secluded sun terrace, with some of the best views of the bay and towards Drakes Island and the coastline. The bed had two toppers, it was dreamy and the bed linen was crisp, white and divine. My room had a lovely ensuite and large shower and everywhere was tastefully decorated. There is a kettle and Nespresso machine to make hot drinks and a quiet fridge hidden inside a wooden sideboard. Breakfast is served in the restaurant, which is located the otherside of the green and there is a good selection to choose from. The marina and other restaurants are approximately a 4 minutes walk away and only a 6-7 minutes taxi ride from the rail station to the hotel. Friendly staff.

Although fine for myself, there isn't a lift (although only three floors and they do state this prior to booking) and a 2 -3 minute walk to the restaurant for breakfast and you also have to check into the restaurant to pick up keys on arrival.

Lovely Grade II listed property which has been modernised inside with a large walk in shower and a very comfortable bed with clean, fresh quality linen. The location is great with places to eat, drink and even a cinema within walking distance. The breakfast, which was included in the room price, was delicious and cooked to order. Staff were very friendly.

My room was on the basement floor so there was a small staircase to navigate and, as my room was at the front of the building, there was a lot of activity outside my window throughout the day. The car park is also across the road from the building and there was a constant stream of cars going past right through until late at night. The room was also quite bright as there are only Roman blinds on the windows, so a sleep mask and ear plugs are a must.

Beautifully decorated room with view over the square. Super comfortable bed and pillows. Was very warm but fan supplied helped keep cool. Breakfast included which was super tasty! Location just perfect just a short stroll to restaurant and walking around Royal William Yard in the evening and morning was stunning. Staff in restaurant were all so friendly and welcoming. Water in the fridge was a nice extra.

The lock on room 14 was very stiff, but pointed this out to staff so hopefully they will sort for next guests. Rooms were not very soundproof, but it’s a very old building so I suppose this is to be expected.

location was fantastic and bonus weather was lovely so enjoyed watching a lovely sunset over the old naval harbour. Ellie was lovely and friendly at breakfast time and check in. The breakfast was delicious and at such a good price too all included in the stay. To have stayed in an old historic naval officers house turned into rooms was lovely and unusual will defiantly return when next in area. appreciated free car park permit too as otherwise that would have got expensive

can't think of anything except we noticed carpet getting a bit worn and light stains in places but didn't bother us for the price at all.

Rooms are in an impressive building set in the Royal William Yard . Close to parking and opposite the restaurant . Staff very friendly and service and breakfast were excellent . Rooms were well appointed and very clean . Bed was comfortable and lovely hot shower. Stunning views of Drakes Island and Plymouth Sound , Mt Edgcumbe and the Marina . Parking charges included .

The internal stairs to the lower ground floor were narrow and with luggage difficult to negotiate. Unfortunate to be woken in the early hours of our last nights stay by another guest knocking on the lower external door close to our suite as she had locked herself out of her room . It did frighten me as I woken from a deep sleep. She was very sorry and did apologise tbh if I it had not been a woman on her own I would have rung the emergency number that was displayed outside our door . Instead I went up to the main door and let her in .

Amazing location and beautifully restored Georgian property. We stayed in Room 10 then moved to the suite for 2 nights. Both truly beautiful. The staff are all lovely and very helpful, kind and welcoming. Breakfast is delicious.

I hesitate to mention but it’s probably best to say - the beds and furniture and soft rugs and cushions could all do with a freshen up in terms of aroma. Deep clean would be ideal but meanwhile some febreze! Also sofas in Suite are fairly uncomfortable. These things didn’t stop us having a brilliant time tho.
