Spa ,swimming pool were excellent. Room was lovely with beautiful view. Free toiletries were nice to use. Staff very friendly and helpful. Plenty of seating areas. Evening meal in restaurant was excellent, very enjoyable. Continental breakfast was nice with plenty of options. Parking attendant was always available as were reception staff. Location area very beautiful.

Although continental breakfast was nice, it was not stated on our booking, we thought we were receiving a Full English Breakfast. This was available, but at an extra cost ,which we feel ,for how much we had paid , for the 4 night stay, this should have been included.

A beautiful hotel in a fabulous location. The uphill walk from the town centre is manageable and well worth it for the views. We didn’t use the spa, but enjoyed several drinks on the sea-view terrace, a real highlight. The continental breakfast was generous and delicious, and the staff were consistently polite and pleasant. A special mention for the afternoon room service offering ice and a slice with your complimentary G&T, such a nice touch! We stayed in a cosy room with a very comfy bed and a spacious en suite, complete with toiletries.

The only downside was the lack of air conditioning, during the recent hot weather, the room became uncomfortably warm and hard to sleep in, even with the window open. Despite this, I’d happily stay again. It really is a wonderful hotel.

Booked for my wife's birthday. Facilities were brilliant. Pool and spa were very relaxing, we had a perfect room with a stunning sea view and great balcony space. A great bed, with excellent pillows - something lots of hotels don't often get right! A really lovely welcome from the team and a good breakfast the next morning. A super stay.

The bathroom could have been better appointed - quite a small tub, which would have been better if fitted with a more modern shower unit. The 5.30 complimenatry gin was a nice touch but disappointing that you have to pay for your tonic from the minibar. I can't see why this couldn't be included in the service. Some small decor blemishes (marks on walls, rusting balcony railings).

Our room was spotless and the bed very comfy. Our view over the estuary was lovely, especially as the weather was so glorious. The bathroom was a good size, the towels were soft and fluffy and the water was lovely and hot. Our room was a good size. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food choice and quality was excellent. The bar area was very nice and the staff attentive without being intrusive. The choice for the continental breakfast was very good. If we visited Salcombe again we would have no hesitation in staying at the hotel again.

Being slightly picky, I thought some of the items on the cooked breakfast menu were somewhat expensive, two poached eggs on a slice of toast for £10.00 seemed a bit excessive, to me.

Amazing location set a few minutes walk away from the idyllic centre of Salcombe. We’d originally booked the inland room but were upgraded to the sea glimpse room. It was more than a glimpse! We had a beautiful view out to the estuary and that set the scene for a great stay at the hotel. The room was perfect, comfy bed, lovely shower gels and free gin! We ate in The Jetty for breakfast and dinner. I know people have complained about the £10 cost for a cooked breakfast but to be honest there was so much choice with the continental breakfast we didn’t order it. The views are amazing both in The Jetty and on the terrace, where you can have a drink while watching the world go by. We had dinner one night in the Jetty and were not disappointed. Spa and swimming pool were also fantastic. Clean, not too busy and the water was not too cold! Big thanks to the staff. They were polite, attentive and very professional. We had a brilliant stay and would definitely come back again.

The staff were all lovely, from the day I was contacted to check a few things about my booking, to our departure. They were all very welcoming, efficient and helpful, and took a pride in their work. The room was very spacious and the comfortable.The pool area was good too, and the breakfast was excellent with a good choice of buffet. My hubby and I did not have an evening meal at the hotel, so I can't comment about that.

I found the lighting system in the room a bit baffling to begin with, but got the hang of it after a member of staff explained it to me.

We checked-in to the pleasant surprise that we'd received a complimentary upgrade from an Estuary View Double with Balcony to a Suite. The suite was lovely, well-appointed with fabulous views over the estuary. The balcony was spacious and felt quite private. The food in the restaurant was excellent, as was the service. It was a feature of the hotel that all the staff we came across were friendly and hospitable. The decanter of gin on the house was a lovely touch.

This may sound at odds with the generosity we've highlighted in terms of the room upgrade and complimentary gin but it did seem a bit incongruous that a hotel of this stature would only include continental breakfast in the B&B rate and expect guests to pay separately for a cooked breakfast.

Had an amazing stay here in October. The hotel is stunning! I booked for my partner's birthday and we received a complimentary upgrade on arrival, and a birthday card in the room which was really lovely of the staff! The room was beautiful. We had a balcony that overlooked the water and complimentary gin. We used the Spa facilities which were fab and ate at the restaurant. The food was quite expensive but it was worth it! We only had a continental breakfast with our booking so we upgraded to a cooked breakfast which was equally as good. The hotel is also really close to the shops so it took us only a couple of minutes to get there. I will definitely be hoping to come back here again in the future and really reccomend it!

The food overall was fantastic. We ate in the jetty restaurant in the evening, the food was amazing and served in good time. In the morning there was a great choice of continental breakfast, and if we had decided to choose a hot cooked breakfast, there was plenty of choice and the prices seemed very reasonable.

Personally I felt that the mattress in the bedroom was a very firm, I did struggle to get comfy during the night but this didn’t affect my overall experience. I got to relax in the spa the next day and catch up on some sleep on the poolside lounger.

This was the breakfast….due to booking.com not making it clear it was only continental.there is on page 4 of the confirmation after booking that it was….after the parking issue and I did not notice. Several customers who booked this way were also not expecting a continental breakfast……! I suggest that booking.com makes it clear before you book that this is the case to save the issue being raised with the hotel……their site has it on the front page…..
