Two comfy, single beds for my sister and I in a “cozy”, quaint room. View: local bus stop. Enjoyed seeing specific characters (one person with 4 greyhounds) waiting for their buses. Wonderful location for exploring the interesting shops and coffee shops in Totnes. Staff could not have been more helpful with all questions, and especially parking and friendliness. Would HIGHLY recommend Round Robin Dartmouth trip from Steamer Quay. Also, tho’ expensive, we would recommend supper at the Bull Inn - you need to book ahead. Tiny portions but fresh and delicious combinations.
Parking was problematic but I suspected it might be. Next time, will catch the train to Totnes and stay at same place, hopefully...

Wonderful location in Totnes, classic pub hotel accommodation with clean rooms, spacious lobby, and the best part was that the breakfast started EARLY, as everything in Totnes - cafes, bakeries, etc - opens at 9 or later for breakfast. Polite staff in the pub and hotel, too! We also appreciated the fact that the wifi WORKED, and our room had a new, modern, wall-mounted air conditioner/heater/fan. The window opened and the breeze was nice, but so many of the older pub hotels in Britain don't have any air circulating in them, so this was lovely.
Lots of smoking in the outdoor seating for the pub, and you have to walk through it to get into the hotel.

Location and staff were great! The room was perfectly clean and quiet. Nice touches of a Nespresso machine, nice biscuits and loads of storage. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet at night.
car park was small as advertised. We attempted to use it. While I got our car from the pay lot across the river a pub guest for the hotel attempted to run over my Husband in the car park to get the space. We were not impressed by the pub patrons to the hotel. Were unable to find the app for the cheap Morrison's car park so used £10 a day lot across the river.

We love the location, it's so easy to get around to other places either on foot, by bus, train or boat. Hotel is comfy too with plenty of 'snugs' to get lost in. Bed and pillows were super comfy. Always find it restful staying here and love the building. The choice of cooked breakfast items is really excellent. Could add to the melon / fruit choices, in my opinion. Evening meal choice is adequate.
Some furniture a bit tired and in need of a bit of a refresh. Room could do with a few more pictures to highlight the history of the place. It's a great building and I think the owners miss a trick here.

The manager on duty went beyond his role in a friendly and professional manner. He helped tune in the tv - took away a perfumed room diffuser and moved his car so I could have his space overnight. Very clean and friendly. The hotel is very underrated and well worth another stay. Thank you so much especially as travelling alone.
The room walls being very thin. So woke each time next door went to the loo! Not sure how this could be mitigated in a lovely period property. I ate in the restaurant for an evening and had fish n chips which unfortunately were very over cooked or refried as came very quickly and was not particularly pleasant. Toast and scrambled egg in the morning were over cooked too. Which was a shame in both counts as much choice and expectations high from breakfast reviews. But so much everything of the stay was great. Staff great.

I was warmly welcomed by Helen as soon as I arrived in the reception area. I was lucky to have parking outside the hotel & Helen was very helpful with this too. The other staff I encountered (on the stairs & in the diningroom/bar area were all friendly. The room was very clean, The bed was comfortable with cotton sheets well pressed. Decent pillows. Shower with proper amount of power. I liked that the windows did open to allow for fresh air. I only spent time in the room sleeping, but I would have been happy to have stayed for a few days. Overall I was very happy with my stay. Thank you.
I could hear people & traffic outside. This was minimal, but I am a light sleeper. Next time (there will be a next time) I will request a room not facing the road. I think most people would not even notice.

This lovely old building is very conveniently located right in the centre of town at the bottom of the (very steep and narrow) high street. My room was very comfortable, with king-sized bed and good-sized en suite (shower only - worked well). It had tea and coffee-making facilities in the room, plus tv and hairdryer. The bathroom had Elemis shampoo, conditioner and body/hand lotion - much appreciated by me. Although the room overlooked the bus stop and a busy road, noise was not a problem at all. I forgot to mention the air-conditioning, which was efficient and quiet (most of the time - see below). Food was good. A good selection of items for continental breakfast plus a very good cooked menu. The bacon bap was particularly good! Dinner menu also had a good selection and the fish and chips (chunky and delicious!) were very good. Staff were very friendly, eager to help and welcoming.
There was a slight smell of drains in the bathroom.

Wonderful coaching inn with a great sense of history and character. Loved my room. Impressed how modern facilities to the rooms blend in seamlessly with with the historic structure and upkeep. A unique building. Each staff member met was so friendly and helpful. There's a warmth to the building echoed by the people who work there. Situated bang at the centre of Totnes - sitting in their forecourt, a great place to meet up and and simply to gaze watching the world go by.

The location to everything nearby. Leave the car in the car park and just get on a bus if you want to go somewhere different, not that you should. Totnes has plenty to offer by way of shopping, eateries and visitor attractions.
Thin walls. TV next door was too loud into the early hours. Not the Seven Stars fault though. Old building with character which is part of the attraction of staying here. Bring better earplugs!!

The location was amazing. Perfect for exploring the town. The hotel was really lovely and old and a llittle 'shabby chic' which we loved.. The rooms were very clean and a good size. There was tea and a kettle in the room and a modern coffee machine. The room was quite big and had secondary double glazing which was great as it is next to a road. The bathroom was big, well stocked with toiletries and had a bath. There was a small, free car park which was a real bonus but it is first come, first served. We would definitely stay here again.
