Great price and value, character features , good space, unusual shaped room, didn't see much of the staff but the ones we saw seemed very friendly indeed Large white quality towels Even though it was part of a pub there was no problems with noise from the pub

these are things not the responsibility of the owners- but there was a lot of noise outside, late, people drinking and shouting and then early delivery vans and people slamming van doors etc very early morning , before 6am so sleep wasn't 100% bathroom a bit basic but clean and usable, no problem the price of being central with a great view I guess

room was everything it needed to be. Pub staff were kind and helpful. bed was very comfortable for the both of of us and the showers were spot on.

the only thing I can say that let the experience slightly down was the location being above a pub and the town. due to the room being quite warm on entry, we had to open all the windows which meant we could hear everything during the night. but us being light sleepers, it probably wouldn't effect those who are heavy sleepers.

This is a set of rooms over an old pub bang in the centre of Totnes. Due to change of plan I booked at very short notice. Checked in at the pub (and ate there afterwards, very nice) and then went up to the room 1 overlooking the main street. This meant alas a few noisy people at night and delivery vans in the morning but well, that's life in a small town. The pub offers no breakfast but there are other options nearby. A spacious and well lit room. Tea-making facilities. The shower took a bit of getting used to, alas this is normal in so many hotels, the days of a simple Hot and Cold tap have gone, now one needs a degree in engineering to work out which way to wind what and so forth, but otherwise it was fine. About fifteen minutes' walk from the station. Good also for the South Devon Railway at Totnes Riverside station.

Shower could do with re grouting but that is just so it would look nicer, clean and functional as it is. Noisy at night but this is to be expected if you book a room over a pub. My husband could do the pub quiz from our room!

Great location right in centre. Good value brunch. Roast dinners and jacket potatoes. Friendly staff. Very comfy bed. Room one is the best room. Parked behind hotel using just parking app. Pre paid, no hassle.

Confusion over payment of a cancelled booking, that had been paid in full with no refund. Either booking.com at fault or hotel for not answering my e mails. Manager eventually thankfully sorted it out when we were leaving. Just wish it had been sorted when we arrived !

Perfect location for exploring Totnes, good sized clean room with big comfy bed and friendly, polite staff. The food was excellent with plenty of choice and the breakfast - although not included in the room price - was delicious, plentiful and very reasonably priced. We’ll definitely stay again!

The tiniest of niggles - no bin or receptacle by the kettle for soggy used teabags! But we coped 😉😂

The landlord Rob and his staff are very friendly and welcoming. There is a quiz on Tuesday evenings - as a solo traveller I was welcomed into one of the teams - we didnt win but it didn't matter. There is a lovely atmosphere in the bar and the food is excellent. I stayed for three nights, the bed was comfortable and I slept very well. I will definitely stay again.

Good size room, good size bed. Friendly bar downstairs. Clean.

Shower impossible to set temp so only had 1 shower in 4 nights stay. Had to "strip wash." Small point but still frustrating.........sugar not topped up after use so had to unlock door, pop downstairs to bar, queue up to get more sachets, go back to room and open up again. Small point, but still annoying the 4 sugars I used each day, had not been replaced.

central location, lovely room, with street views, really lovely shower. Lovely big t.v. Lovely cafe for food opposite cafe 47 (not open Sunday though). super comfy bed I slept like a log.

no bin in main room, only in the toilet. would of been lovely to have a breakfast at the property as on a Sunday, most of the cafes to have breakfast were closed.

The room, which sits above the bar and the street, is large and the bed was comfortable. Good TV. Very convenient for the main facilities of Totnes. Good value at £85 for the night.

Obviously noisy up to midnight. We took that into account however. May be an issue in summer when windows will need to be open. Guests should be aware there's no privacy unless the curtains are drawn! Electric showers are inadequate.
