single room was just the best, very modern ..it looked like new!. very posh shower and light up mirror over the sink..window facing a garden with tables and seats. breakfast was spot on with a good choice of food to suit all tastes,served at your table. Incidentally the single room status gave you a single table which I think is good. Close to Paignton amenaties and a local beach just down a little walkway..There's a bit of a hill to go down and back up to the hotel if walking but I'm 76 and just took my time...by the 3rd day I was tackling it no problem!!Went to Brixham and Torquay on the bus....Go for a ride on the steam railway..brilliant I had a great time thanks to all the staff and owners who looked after little old me!!

I DIDN'T LIKE...having to leave!!!...wish I could have stayed longer than 4 nights...everything was just perfect

Viv and the other staff are the most amazing people. Funny, kind, caring and nothing at all is too much to ask. The breakfast was incredible. Hospitality was honestly out of this world. It felt like a home away from home. Myself and my partner wishes we didn’t have to leave after coming to stay for the air show. They have a honesty bar as well downstairs which was brilliant! An incredible amount of DVDs you can take to watch in your room, books as well. We stayed in Pebble and it was the perfect room for us. I’m trying to find excuses to come back again!

Having to leave!

The room was as described when I booked, and the large bed requested was super king size, and the bathroom facilities were excellent. There was a good choice of options at breakfast, which were always prepared to perfection, and presented in a timely manner. I must add that having the use of the honesty bar was very much appreciated at the end of the day, enjoying a drink either sitting indoors or outside in the lovely garden. Debbie, Vivien, Paul and Mark were outstanding hosts, they made us feel so welcome, and went that extra mile to make sure we had such a wonderful stay. We will be booking again for sure.

Could not find fault with anything during our stay at Amber House.

The location is ideal for those looking for a base to explore the surrounding Devon area. Close to the coast, and the town of Paignton, and also ideally situated for those wishing to visit some of the National Trust and English Heritage properties in the region. The room we had was excellent, as was the hearty breakfast we enjoyed each morning. The use of an honesty bar was an ideal way to unwind with your favourite drink at the end of the day.

Could not fault this Hotel in any way. The staff went out of their way to ensure that all was well during our visit.

Amber house was lovely, Mum and I enjoyed our two night stay and will definitely come back. It was clean, quiet and so friendly without being in your face. Breakfast was amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Loved the fact there’s a conservatory or garden to sit in. Rooms were clean and had plenty of storage etc. Parking is easy and it’s central, we visited Paignton, Goodrington, Dartmouth, Teignmouth and Brixham and Dawlish on the way. Thank you!

Great location close to the town. You can see the steam train from the property which is nice! The whole property was spotless, our room was a good size and the bed was huge. The bathroom was quite big too with a brand new shower. Good quality breakfast. Very friendly staff!

From booking advert looks like the property is seaview but I could not see the sea. We had parking view, but not a big deal for us as we went around the area all day long. I would have loved a sweet option in the breakfast such as Pancakes, but I still loved the breakfast anyway!

Very friendly owners who stayed up late until we arrived to make sure we were all settled. Always happy to help as well Clean, quiet rooms with very comfortable beds. Our room contained one double and one single means excellent space for the price. Property has lots of off road parking and has a lovely garden to sit in during the morning and evening with a self serve bar. Included breakfast was excellent with lots of cooked variety and range of cereals as well. Tea and coffee freshly prepared aswell

Nothing to fault. Only suggestions we could put forward: Maybe look at taking advantage of government electric vehicle charging grants to get a car charger or two installed. We would like to make this our go to hotel for visiting Cornwall and having the option to charge over night would be absolutely fantastic. It would be nice to have some fruit such as bananas and apples available at breakfast.

Very good range of choices of good food at breakfast. Location excellent to get out and about by car to sights local and further afield. Good car parking on site. Possible to walk to Paignton and back - slightly uphill walk on return journey. Excellent hosts who were always ready to go the extra mile eg assisting on getting luggage to room.

We cannot fault Amber House.

We loved everything about Amber House. Myself , husband and 12 year old son stayed in the Rock pool family suite. The suite was spotlessly clean with comfy beds and the most amazing shower. The breakfast was delicious with fresh, local ingredients. The location is perfect with a short walk to paignton pier or goodrington and the views are fantastic. There are a selection of games and dvds that you can borrow during your stay which was a lovely touch. The owners are all very friendly and welcoming and made our stay feel like a real treat. We will certainly be returning in the future.

Nothing at all.

The owners were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. The in room guide provided useful information on local amenities and I used to locate an excellent restaurant (TJ's) which I ate at twice during my stay: on the second occasion with a local friend who was also impressed. The Wi-Fi was fast if you needed to save your own data allowance.

One minor issue I had was no heated towel rail in my bathroom. I am sure the hotel would have provided additional dry towels upon request, but it would be more convenient to not to have to ask. This only arose because I had a shower returning cold and wet on a couple of occasions out on the moors, and the towels didn't dry naturally for the next morning.
