The location was perfect because it was walking distance to Paignton front. The kurb appeal of the hotel is spot on.

The rooms were hot and the hotel did provide a fan in each room, however, the fans were so dirty and full of dust I was afraid to turn them on, so I took the fan apart and cleaned it. I did the same for my daughter who was sleeping in the room next to us. The shower was also very crammed and the water very slow. The shower door opened onto the shower controls which were not ideal. The hotel building was huge so I understand this is most likely not possible but it would be excellent if it has a refurb as it smelt a built old and the corridor floor boards were very sqeaky.

We have a dog so the hotel was a dog friendly place and very very caring staff who understands people like us and our needs. The hotel was in a prime location as could walk the dug just across the road literally as open lawn area abd beach path. We had paid extra for breakfast which in our eyes was exceptional ,very very tasty.. overall it was a value for money stay with comfy rooms and very friendly staff and dog lovers. We will come again ..😊.Andy and Caroline Tucker.

Room was very warm as could with Air Con really, plus a little bit better water pressure in the shower.Car parking was a little expensive too.

Location was fantastic as you were literally a stone's throw from the prom/ocean; room was temperate and the beds were comfortable, views from the window whatever time of day were also great - I found when I couldn't sleep, being able to just roll over and pull the curtain aside a little to watch the world outside helped. Being able to access YouTube from the TV was an added bonus as it helped pass small moments of time, catch up on missed videos and also useful to play in the background when trying to get to sleep after a long day of walking.

Really sorry, but the bathroom loses a few stars, for one, with a kettle in the room it would be nice to be able to fill up said kettle from the tap, not have to walk back and forth several times with a small jug (which we bought) just to top it up; the loo was also a little restricting making it uncomfortable to perform 'simple actions' if you are a little on the 'larger' size of the scale... We didn't try the shower as this also appeared rather cramped/restricting. We also had a 'herd of elephants' travelling up and down the corridor late on our final evening, but you can't control what humans do after hours, so this isn't the fault of the hotel.

Great location, lovely staff. Room was fine, well serviced, great view. Not too expensive. Would stay again.

My only criticism would be Breakfast but Im being picky! Choice felt a little limited in places, hot food was good but not self service( maybe cuts down on waste? ) , in my opinion needs more yogurt choice, not just yucky fat free( if its fat free its not yogurt 😁) and there is just toast , no alternative, no rolls/croissant/ pastry, but for the price we paid its decent and well run and staffed.

It was brilliantly located and the rooms /beds were very comfortable. The staff were also super nice.

The breakfast offered had a nice variety but wasn’t the best overall. The rooms overlooking the beach also look out at a event hall/space/building and the night of our stay there was a wedding reception until pretty late and it was very, very loud. Not something controlled by the hotel but something to note of the rooms at the front.

The hotel's reception staff were outstanding; Paul is a Esplanade's secret hospitality weapon and Zak Brown helped me through a tricky situation with my wife at home who suffers from Vascular Dementia. Thank you both.

The hotel is not the Ritz and arguably not de luxe but they make up for it witth attentive and responsive staff and of couirse a price which is very, very competitive.

All members of staff were extremely friendly & accommodating, nothing was too much trouble at all! Room was well equipped, beautiful sea view & super cosy beds on par with Premier Inns in my opinion.

Found cold water & shower pressure in bathroom relatively slow but functional for it's purpose (I have long thick hair so power showers are always preferable for me!).

From the minute we entered the property Sarah and her team was very attentive nothing too much trouble. The hotel allows dogs. I was let down by Three Sisters Cottage at the last minute and was panicking where I was going to go at such short notice. Sarah stepped in to help us out with 2 disabled pensioners and a dog. We also had our takeout which Sarah stepped in yet again with Warmed plates and cuttlery. I can not praise this hotel enough

Hotel in a good location opposite beach and close to harbour and all local amenities. Hotel within walking distance of train and bus station. The food was good and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Would have liked some entertainment and think the hotel should push more that you can have an evening meal
