The staff worked very hard and were always friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic for the town centre and beach, and surprisingly quiet. The family room was big enough, the beds comfortable and shower was excellent. The heated towel rail was very useful. Access to the outside seating and park was a bonus. The food was very good and plenty of choice at breakfast and dinner, and they were happy to cook a different request for our granddaughter! The evening entertainment was mostly good.

The hotel is very careworn and the outside fabric and general internal decor definitely need an upgrade. That said, everywhere is clean, the towels and bedding are fine, you get what you pay for and for Devon this hotel is excellent value for money, especially with the half board option. It has a relaxing atmosphere, lovely staff and is a great base for exploring, 5 mins walk to the train and bus station too. This was our 2nd visit in 2 years and I wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Loved the location, hotel facilities, room was very comfortable and the staff were amazing! There is abar on site, parking and a nice restaurant area for evening meals and breakfast. You are given a table which you have for your stay which is a great idea.

We would say that the entertainment was quite loud but we were placed in a room close to the main entrance due to my wife's disability as she has trouble walking long distances.. The entertainment only ran till 10:30 but if you plan to stay in your room and watch TV then the noise could be a concern if your in a room close the bar/entertainment area. There is no WIFI in the rooms but only in public areas which didn't bother us as we were locationed in the first room from the entrance.

We loved everything about the hotel it was just so perfect location for us and it was so clean .the only problem we had was the shower in the room went from ice cold to scolding hot we tried to adjust but stood for ages it definitely needs sorting as could actually scold a child or elderly person.Apart from that which made us laugh we slept so well we loved the entertainment in the hotel and bar area and the lovely seating area in window.we will try booking for breakfast and evening meal next time .what a fabulous hotel very quirky to .

The welcoming staff the smiley staff. My wife suffers from anxiety and clostraphobia, and they were able to move us during the busy morning breakfast period into a quiet area without any problem so lovely and very much appreciated. The location was perfect. Tea / Coffee making facilities in the room too.

Only a minor improvement would be in the bathroom where the shower was a combination shower n bath tap. I feel that the shower could have had a mounting on the wall rather than hand be hand held resting on the tap. And maybe a grab rail. Nothing else as all great 👍

Lovely simple little room with tv and tea and coffee making facilities. Bed was soft but comfortable. Room service provided every morning. Entertainment in hotel leisure room every night. Perfect location as it lies near enough in the middle of the sea front strip.

Two single beds put together rather than a double bed Water pressure for shower was low Location of hotel is lovely, right on sea front however, Paignton front turns into a drag strip come 11pm (obviously not hotels fault) so can be loud with cars. Can't connect to WiFi in rooms

Great location with views to greens / beachfront and nearby harbour. Traditional ensuite rooms with comfy beds & good value breakfasts & great service, V good nightly entertainment from a variety of solo artists in the main lounge bar & conservatory. Friendly experienced staff always helpful and a credit to the Marine Hotel, Paignton.

Nothing really, seafront roadworks diversion caused some traffic noise at night and seagulls were a bit noisy at night with windows open in hot weather..

Staff are very friendly, a real credit to the place...the staff really are 5 star! Room was a great size, well presented and VERY clean...as a bonus, we hade a private entrance directly onto the park, and rarely had to go through the hotel. Bar prices - but they have to pay for their entertainment (we weren't too fussed about the entertainment, so we used the multitude of bars right on the hotel's doorstep!!) Breakfast - small portions (1bacon, 1 sausage, 1 egg, 1/2 slice fried bread and some baked beans) - Have since found out this is to avoid waste, if you want a little more of anything on the plate you just have to ask and they'll happily accommodate. I do think this should be made clear on the menu.

Great location, directly opposite Pirate Golf. Over looking the seafront. Parking available. Dog friendly. Really really clean, lovely size bathroom and shower. We were on the top floor / on the side overlooking the park. The window wasn’t flush with the wall and stuck out, couldn’t see the sea if looking out the window but mirrors were on the side part of the window that was sticking out from the trim so that you could still get a sea view - nice touch. Door was secure so strangers couldn’t just walk in. Key fob on room key so you could gain entry yourself.

Staff are great and work very hard, the location is perfect ,walking distance to everything you need, hotel has a great size bar area and cheap drinks, nxt cheapest drinks was the spinning wheel just down the road4 min walk ,which also has great food. breakfast is half the price of the hotel at gary coppers 3min walk..room was very large with a decent shower,down side was we where above the dinning / breakfast room so don't expect a lay in as the noise and door banging was pretty horrendous,

As the hotel had a large group from Bus tours the dining room was full and we were shown to a smaller dining room. The table service was excellent and the staff are all very friendly. Breakfast arrived promptly and was to a high standard. The fruit was all fresh and not from a can as was the orange juice. We didn't have dinner at the hotel but on the quality of the breakfast, maybe we should have done so. Our room was large and very comfortable. Wi-Fi access was available in the lounge areas down stairs but not within the room itself. Parking was very good.

There are areas in the hotel which probably need a freshen up. For example, in the small dining room for breakfast it was evident that the wall paper had been poorly applied and was of a poor quality.
