We had a 3 night stay in sea view room, it was cracking, views couldn’t be beaten.There was a good choice for breakfast, we had a full English which was freshly cooked and was to order, good ingredients and portions. The Hotel is right on sea front a stones walk from the beach and the harbour, the town is less than 5 mins walk away and it’s all flat. Very pleased with everything.

The room we were in window looked out on the workers entrance and delivery entrance so if we had the curtains open we were in full view of anyone

Last minute booking and only two rooms left, The two rooms left were on the ground floor at the rear of the property with only a car park and dustbins for a view but both had been recently decorated and were lovely so made up for no view. We booked a double room (69) but after looking at it decided it was a little small so changed to a twin room (67) which had more space. The bathroom was lovely with a wide shower and heated towel rail. Breakfast was very good with quite a wide choice on the menu and our waiter Tiago was very polite and efficient. We stayed for evening meals where, once again, there was a good choice and the food was generally good. The hotel was in an excellent location just across the road from the beach and within a few minutes walking distance from the marina for boat trips and into the town.

The only thing we didn't like was the location of the room. Our room was next to the rear entrance door where there was a car park and staff could use to enter. This door slammed shut for security purposes so it was noisy. Also people who smoked would use it first thing in the morning and the smell of smoke would come into our room so we had to keep the window closed.

The food was amazing and the staff couldn’t do enough for us even when things happened out of their control as there was a slight plumbing issue but this did not effect our holiday they were able to upgrade us and looked after us service second to none.

Scaffolding on the outside of the building but I guess this can’t be helped it would have been nice to be told about this before we got there though.

Great little hotel right on the coast

The Cavendish was a fabulous hotel, great food at a very good price, sea views , very helpful staff, and very short distance to walk to the shops , and restaurants. we will definitely be going back to the Cavendish again. Our rooms had a sea view which was fabulous, there was a huge selection of food for breakfast and plenty of it, and the hotel was right on the beach with a very short walk to the town centre. The evening meals had a good selection with plenty to eat, they had live music in the lounge, and there is a lift to most floors which is great for people who have mobility issues, people with prams etc. The staff couldn’t do enough for you, and would even carry bags down as required.

Nothing, we were so lucky to have been able to stay here especially at such short notice. We booked it on the day we went there to stay.

The location is superb - right on the front. Parking right on the spot - but maybe not enough in high summer if most guests have come by car. During my stay most guests were on coach tours. It had an 'olde worlde' human atmosphere. Breakfast main was freshly cooked and good.

I prefer a more buffet style breakfast. Except for cereals and canned fruit it was waiter service (including the porridge). There was a long wait to be served with tea or coffee and porridge and toast - which was the only bread - and the cooked breakfast. This may well have been a good way of reducing waste but was frustrating. I chose not to have dinner in the hotel. You had to book a place in the morning at a specific time. The menu choice looked very adquate but not exciting. I cannot comment on the quality but I would guess that it was good.

The whole experience from booking in to interacting with the staff was very pleasing, excellent facilities, food was excellent, entertainment was good,room was spacious and clean, view to die for, overall excellent 👍

The lift has to go to ground floor every time you get in it before it can take you up to your floor.

Nice bed and shower. Breakfast was nice. Staff were helpful. Location right on the sea front.

The water temperature from the shower kept adjusting between hot and cold. Alot of banging doors from 6:15 am. We think from staff taking things into the restaurant. Maybe put soft closers or padding on the door frames.
