The property was so close to the beach so an excellent location. The hotel was lovely and staff were so friendly and welcoming. The spa facilities were the highlight of the trip.

I thought for the price the bathrooms were a little outdated, especially the shower/shower tray. It didn’t state anywhere on the website when we reserved a table that Sunday roasts were only between certain hours so unfortunately the website let us book for 5pm when the kitchen was closed and wasn’t able to get a roast. That saying the food on the regular menu was lovely as we ate in the restaurant on Friday, we just fancied a roast dinner.

The continental Breakfast was excellent. There is good choice and the quality of the food was outstanding. Service friendly and efficient. Sidmouth is a lovely seaside resort for a short break, and we loved the hotel...

We stayed in Room 159, described on the Booking.com site as having a courtyard view. It should read, " view over dustbin area to rear of the hotel". My feeling about this were made clear to the hotel. The view from the bedroom was not a major issue to us because we live in Torquay and have a view of the sea all the time from our apartment. If you come from somewhere less attractive then I suggest you try to avoid room 159. The room is otherwise quiet, very clean and luxurious !!

Room was lovely with super en-suite and included robes and free gin and tonic! Very nice! We used the spa - small but serviceable pool (nice and warm), large jacuzzi and sauna with free apples on exit which was a nice touch. Lovely situation - right on the sea but a little separate from shops etc so nice and quiet. Very short stroll to cafes and shops and beach. Breakfast was super - loads of choice (best I’ve had as a vegetarian) but we didn’t pay extra for cooked - and there was no need. Lovely breakfast table overlooking garden and views of sea and esplanade. Reception phoned to say I’d left a phone charger in the room and they sent it on to me (I paid the postage).

We had a view of the bins from our window at the back of the property but we hadn’t paid extra for a sea view so…

Beautiful hotel and great location. Stayed 1 night in a courtyard room. Room was spacious, very clean and bed was comfortable. We had complimentary gin in our room, however unless you want to drink neat gin then be prepared to spend £7 on two tonic waters from the mini bar, nice gesture but tonic not included (bring your own, will be a lot cheaper :) Spent 2 hrs in the spa, some areas looking a little tired but other than that it was relaxing. The hotel only offer continental breakfast, for myself this was adequate but my husband did upgrade £10 to have a cooked breakfast. We chose not to eat our evening meal in the hotel so I can not comment on the food served in the evening. The staff are very friendly. Overall a lovely nights stay

The rooms were well proportioned, clean and probably too warm (although it was sunny and the room probably heated up due to the sun). The staff were very helpful. The hotel itself was luxurious and in great repair. It was great to have a Nespresso machine in the room, I don't function until I have had a decent coffee in the morning. The leisure centre had everything we needed to relax, pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room.

The bar closes at 10 - so we missed a night cap before going to bed. The robes in the room (to go down to the leisure centre), would only fit an anorexic midget in my opinion. Parking was a bit hit and miss as to wether you got a space or not (although there is a big longstay car park opposite) The leisure centre could do with an overhaul, the steam room tended to go cold, and generally it needs some TLC in my opinion.

Room, bed, bathroom all excellent. Comfortable and warm. Spa was spotless and relaxing. Food was delicious and staff very helpful. Oh, and complimentary Gin! Nice touch.

There were two choices of Rioja and we ordered the more modestly priced bottle. It was delicious. On check out we discovered we were being charged for the more expensive bottle. I hadn't noticed they brought the wrong one (I assume they did) so it was slightly awkward. Still, a very nice wine and I paid the extra as the chap on reception didn't seem to know quite what to do about the mix up and as everything else had been brilliant I let it go.

It’s a lovely hotel within minutes walk to the seafront town, we chose an inland view double room which was cheaper than the courtyard room, so glad I did the courtyard rooms looked really dark and dingy around the hotel car park, our room was in the main building, Outside pool although very thin was very lovely and relaxing perfect and peaceful for chilling out. Restaurant was lovely and bar area and terrace.

The room although nice was quite small and warm I think it would get very warm in the height of summer.

Great location, enjoyed stay however not as well kept as other Harbour hotels we have stayed at. Lovely room great views love the gin and tonic in the room Easy to walk into Sidmouth Would return 😊

Room Description didn’t say balcony was shared which was fine, however couldn’t leave door open at night because of this and room very hot and stuffy and only 1 tiny window and very noisy fan. Asked for different fan on couple of occasions and never materialised.so had poor sleep in otherwise comfortable room. Shower dripping very badly but not able to fix as waiting part. Given location fish special did not change during stay …. Lots of people commenting. May be good to ask when checking in if you wanted to upgrade to full breakfast to help staff. Seemed short of staff

It was in a nice location. A nice easy walk into the town.

I have mixed feelings about our stay. When we arrived we were allocated our room which was really small for the price. You could barely pass the chair and desk to get to the bathroom from one side of the bed and not enough room for both of us to put our suitcases out simultaneously. It was roasting hot in there and the mini fridge wasn’t working. I was told maintenance would come and fix the fridge. No one came, when I went downstairs to ask they said oh yes they know it’s broken, they’re waiting for a replacement to arrive but it won’t be today. Only when we asked if there was another room we were offered one. Which was much nicer. It seems a strange policy to offer up your worst rooms first. We are going back to Sidmouth in December for 3 nights but I wouldn’t re-book this hotel.

Restaurant food was reasonably priced for the quality. The spa facilities were clean and big enough to accommodate a number of guests. Bedroom was clean large and comfortable. Car parking was free and easy. Breakfast the next morning was lovely overlooking the grounds and a nice selection of continental and cooked dishes.

I thought looking at the photos online it would be a little closer to the seafront, although you could still see the sea from the hotel it was a little walk down to beach and town.
