Deneys & Helga are wonderful hosts, a great welcome when you arrive! Got an upgrade, which is always a plus & on such a beautiful day when I arrived. I arrived by mainline rail & arrived at Torquay station, there is Torre station which is nearer, (100 meters) so you might have to arrange accordingly, or get a taxi. Not much parking I'm afraid, I could only see room for two vehicles but not sure if there was parking at the rear of the property. There is a local bus service to Torquay that stops nearby & passes Torquay station eventually. (Service 12) The room that I had included a private balcony that's shaded with a fridge with bottled water & fresh milk for your tea & coffee. The bed, although being quite firm ended up being very comfy indeed with the choice of a soft or medium/firm pillow. The shower en suite is the perfect size. If you've forgotten to pack your personal stuff, they have that there for you, along with slippers & a bath robe, they thought of everything! The free WiFi was easy to get into with no lagging problems. P.S. they give you a welcoming cup cake! Breakfast was lovely with a bit of music in the background, fresh orange juice & a cafetiere of coffee. You order your breakfast from the list & alter or keep the same. Overall, a very nice stay on the tail end of some glorious weather & with the English Riviera on your doorstep, about a mile away & the ideal location with the most charming couple at the helm of Arran Lodge. I'd definitely come again for a good stay! 😉🤗⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Not much to dislike, other than there's no lift, but the building wasn't meant to have one.

Wow, what can I say?!... Absolutely amazing hosts from stepping through the front door and to be greeted, to leaving the next day. Deneys and Helga were amazing and upgraded my room for me... Room 6 with its own little private patio I couldn't have asked for more. The room was quiet to have a relaxing sleep after traveling for 6 hours. The extra touches were a blessing. I was too tired for breakfast but I hear it's very good. The decor is very my style. You wouldn't expect it until you walk through the door. Very clean and comfortable. If I could give 11 out of 10 rating, I would. Absolutely recommend Arran Lodge. I'll be back soon!

Helga and Deneyes were brilliant hosts with an eye for detail in every area of the hotel. From the moment you walked in their welcome was like meeting old friends, the entrance hall was a delight showing their South African heritage. Having been shown to our room we knew immediately we were going to enjoy our 5 day stay, the room was great far exceeding our expectations and would put many a 5 star hotel to shame. The bed was so comfortable we had fabulous nights sleep. Breakfast each morning was a time to chat to Helga and Deneyes about our plans for the day, the food was excellent and we were able to select from a varied menu. We would have no hesitation booking our stay here again and another couple we meet at the hotel shared our sentiments, our stay was first class, thank you for looking after us.

Wow! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, our stay has been amazing. We were greeted by the wonderful owners Helga and Deneys. The conjoining room with a 12 year old gave her, her own space with her own bathroom which was perfect. Our room was very comfortable, very, very clean and well equipped with so many extras, including dressing gowns and slippers and lots of personal touches. Included was coffee, tea, fresh bottled water, fresh milk and biscuits, which were replenished daily. WiFi was spot on, great shower with lots of space. The breakfast was fantastic on so many levels. The choice was phenomenal from hot to cold food and refreshments. Fresh hot English breakfast to suit your appetite. Perfect poached eggs cooked by Helga 👍🏻 served to us by Deneys. They’re such a great team and nothing was too much trouble. Perfect hosts who greeted us daily by our names and who were genuinely interested in their guests, which always made us feel at home. Perfect location, 8 minutes walk to the Sea front. Parking in front of the property. Excellent value for money. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you Helga and Deneys for such a wonderful stay, you made our holiday perfect.

recently stayed at a wonderful bed and breakfast that I can’t recommend enough. The place was spotlessly clean, located in a perfect spot close to local attractions yet peaceful enough for a relaxing stay, and the breakfast was absolutely fantastic—fresh, beautifully presented, and with plenty of options to suit all tastes. The hosts were also incredibly welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for a charming, comfortable stay with top-notch hospitality, this is the place!

We liked the decor of our room, and the balcony that we had. We had fresh milk, drinking water, tea bags etc topped up every morning, and the room was cleaned as well. Our hosts Helga and Deneys made us feel very welcome, and made sure we had everything we needed, nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfast selections were great too, and value for money. Excellent accommodation. Good location. Near the train station. Friendly host & hostess. Nothing too much trouble for them. Room clean and tidy and spoilt with them stocking up the fridge on a daily basis with water, milk, and providing tea/coffee facilities as well as providing clean towels. On site parking also available. Would stay here again and would recommend this accommodation.

Lovely couple who own this B&B! They really made us feel welcome and made sure that we were all comfortable during our 3 night stay. Towels and toiletries were kept stocked up without us even needing to ask. The room and bathroom were very clean also. Location to station just 2 minute walk so very convenient. What we loved the most was the amazing tasty and healthy breakfast prepared for us each morning, it was very filling and was nice to have so many options. Would 100% stay here again and really recommend if you’re looking for a place in Torre!

Our breakfasts were exceptional with such a variety of choices including a delicious fruit salad. We enjoyed being within walking distance of Torre Abbey. The owners are so kind and helpful - we didn't want to leave!

Nothing could have been better! We had everything we needed including mini fridges which we used daily. We have a daughter with special needs and had two adjoining bedrooms both with ensuite shower rooms so she felt safe but also independent. The standard of all the equipment was excellent, faultless! Can't wait to stay again! 😍

Once again, exceptional service from Helga and Deney. On arrival, I was greeted like a friend whom they both had not seen in a long time. I was made to feel at home straight away and had the impression that nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast the following morning was as ordered and cooked fresh using delicious, top-quality ingredients. I highly recommend staying at the Arran Lodge B&B.
