The Buccaneer Inn is in a prime location overlooking the sea and situated only a few yards from the Babbacombe Theatre which was the reason for our visit at this time of year. We stayed on the night when "Storm Bert" was at its most ferocious, but felt warm, comfortable and safe in the room we were allocated. The view from the window was amazing. The bed was comfortable (and didn't have one of those annoying throws on it which most hotels seem to think is necessary - I don't!). The bathroom was large and clean and had lots of nice toiletries available. The staff were friendly and efficient. Our evening meal was very good. Although there is no breakfast provided, the room had a kettle, toaster and microwave. Parking is available in a public car park right behind the Inn which cost £10.55 for 24 hours. Unfortunately, the weather was too bad to explore the area properly, but we will definitely return during the spring or summer.

The weather!!

The room was great and had everything you could possibly need in a self catering apartment, bedding and towels good quality, and house keeping, well what can we say, the room was immaculately clean 5 Stars!! Bar and Restaurant areas well staffed and immaculately clean at all times. Staff and Owners very helpful Chris and Shannon were very professional in their approach towards all customers and were falling over themselves to give a fantastic service to all. The food was amazing and we ate there two out of the three nights we stayed, we will be returning next year for our 26th Wedding Anniversary and are looking to book once the availability is advertised on the web site. Tom and Debs that are the owners should be really proud of themselves and their Team.

They didn't do Lasagne!!

I recently stayed at The Buccaneer Inn on Friday, November 1st, and had a delightful experience. The spacious room features a large bathroom with a walk-in shower and ample toiletries. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the stunning views added to the charm. Debbie's warm hospitality made the stay even more enjoyable. The inn's location is convenient, being close to Babbacombe Theatre. While breakfast isn't served on-site, Angels Tea Rooms next door offers a perfect morning meal. I highly recommend The Buccaneer Inn for a comfortable and pleasant stay.

Nothing - it was all perfect

Staying at the buccaneer is a free and easy stay. Hosts are welcoming and friendly. Location is lovely with sea view at breakfast. Bed is comfy and basic self catering facilities are provided. However good food available at discount in the pub.

I prefer a bath and only showers are available. Pillows bit thin and more cushions would be nice. Also room 2 has no mobile mirror and although there are 2 on walls, both are dark and not easy to use to do hair and make up.

Location, friendly staff, fab view of sea front room, seconds from fab restaurants and Babbacombe Theatre - just great - parking at the back £10 for 24 hours! Just great

The property has a pub downstairs but you are totally separate so not really an issue. I’d say pop in a carton of fresh milk and ensure tea bags are fresh as tasted awful!

It's right at Babbacombe beach within easy walking distance of convenience stores, a laundrette, the railway down to the beach proper, bus services. I didn't have a vehicle so using public transport was important. Room has a mini fridge and a lovely covered balcony/veranda for watching the sun rise. Large room, nice bathroom.

For those with hip problems or mobility hindered, there are a set of steps to conquer to get to your room, but it's worth it.

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a lovely view. It felt very private, despite being above the pub. The small kitchen area was handy for making toast and sandwiches. Tip - take a tea towel.

Although it wasn't problematic for us, as we parked at a family member's house nearby, the Buccaneer doesn't have it's own parking. The road outside has double yellow lines and although there's a fairly expensive car park behind, it might be difficult to find a parking space in high season. It was practically empty during our stay though.

Slept very well , great pressure on the shower , very clean room , very friendly and helpful hosts , great pub too , , did nt eat there as had other plans but food looked great 👍 Bar staff very friendly too 😊

En-suite a bit on the small side but nit picking now .

Excellent all round, staff very accommodating and friendly, food Excellent and very good value, room very clean and comfortable with modern facilities...we had a lovely weekend and will stay there again.

There is nothing not to like...

Extremely pleasant and helpful staff. The food far exceeded our expectations especially the freshly prepared tapas despite the kitchen having to deal with a pre-theatre rush which they did with amazing efficiency. Lovely room with many thoughtful extras eg fresh milk in the fridge. We will definitely be back.
