Everything was good here,a few minor issues but nothing to big,we had the compact room,which we wouldnt book again,very small,and no air getting through as its on the side of the property,so i asked for a fan,which i got,which did help,so my mistake by booking the compact room,the staff was very friendly,even the young lady who did her 1st shift at the bar,lovely and cheerfull,the place was spotless apart from a few little things,but wouldnt put me off going again.the breakfast was ok but could have been hotter,ours wasnt that warm,but the young lads and lady did a great job out the front doing the waiting on our tables,the pool outside was spotlessly clean,which we never got chance to use,dew to the it raining,lol typical !!!!!

The location was the worse for us,on bookings it said this property was in the town centre and beach front,not at all in this case,we couldnt even get a taxi into the town,so had to drive,which meant we lost a car parking space,and had to park the car on our return quite far up the road,wouldnt let it put us off,we learn by our mistskes and we would do things different,

The pictures make everything looks a lot bigger than real life. It is a little lodge with an absolutely amazing character. I believe it is run by the owners, who certainly go the extra mile to make your visit the most friendly, welcoming and charming. A lot of attention has been paid to the details inside the rooms and around the whole place. Everything is so functional, delicate, elegant and sweet. You can't help but feel "Aaaaahhhh". Breakfast choices are not many, but all food is freshly and nicely prepared. They give you all the local knowledge as well about where to eat, where to go and so on. Very good location to the sea, city centre and other attraction, but no sea view.

The room was too small, but we did not mind very much as we were out most of the day and the bar and pool area was very comfortable to use in the evening.

Hotel is exceptionally clean, our room appeared to have refurbished with some nice touches like a small sofa and a coffee machine. Pool was lovely and clean and welcoming bar with a good selection of drinks. Breakfast was efficient with an ordering system to select your meal and beautifully cooked with a great selection of fruit and pastries.staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Would definitely stay again. Good location short walk to promenade with some nice restaurants nearby

Parking was available but not enough for all guests and spaces were a little tight, some guests had to park on road.

Everything! The hotel is located in the perfect place for getting to the beach or having a wander into the centre. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They couldn’t do enough for you. The facilities at Riviera lodge were wonderful, especially the outdoor pool. We was fortunate to get the sun so enjoyed cocktails by the pool. They also have a hot tub which you can book a time slot for per couple which makes it more private. We booked this after a 10mile walk so it was well needed! Our room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. We had breakfast every morning which we enjoyed- top quality ingredients, full of flavour and service with a smile.

The only negative that we have was the bed! It was either the springs in the mattress or the wooden bed frame but every time we moved, it was very creaky which didn’t make for a good nights sleep. It would not put us off staying again though as this is something that could easily be resolved.

My friend and I arrived earlier then the stated check-in time and they let us in very quickly. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and we booked the hot tub twice - without any waiting - at all. The room was clean, we went for breakfast twice in the morning and the service was efficient and quite quick. Breakfast was excellent. The location of the hotel is near the beach/town centre yet it's in a quiet area. There was a bar was inside the hotel and they were playing nice music all the time. If you wanted to stay outside on the patio at night you could - they had blankets ready by the door nearby. Facilities were amazing (hot tub, swimming pool, chess, pool) We recommend staying at this particular hotel.

There was a spider inside our room behind a picture that was on the wall. The room smelled moldy and had a strange smell.

The staff were so friendly, they couldn’t do enough for me and my partner. When we arrived check in was so smooth and check out was even easier. The room was standard but clean and had everything that we needed for our stay, the staff gave us fresh water and clean towels everyday during housekeeping in our room. We made use of the facilities which included an outdoor pool that was very clean, a bar which was stocked with every drink, the outside area which was perfect for reading by the pool on a sunny lounger to relax in the afternoon and we even used the hot tub which we booked in the evening in our last night - it was super relaxing and seated in its own private area by the pool surrounded by plants and flowers. The hotel was in a great location, only a 10 minute walk into Torquay town centre which was full of shops and cafes/restaurants and a 5 minute walk to the nearest sea front and pier which was again loaded with restaurants and bars. The hotel was just the perfect location for us as we used it as a base to explore the town and for us to be able to come back to relax in at the end of the day.

We had an issue with the toilet where it was leaking and making our bathroom floor wet around the base which in turn made the carpet between the bedroom and the bathroom slightly wet. We only noticed this when it was alerted to us by housekeeping. The owners explained that this was out of their depth and they were going to call a plumber in as soon as possible. Me and my partner weren’t too bothered about this as we only had a couple of nights left at this point but you could tell how genuine and apologetic the staff were about this issue. It wasn’t resolved before we checked out but I have no doubt that it will be swiftly fixed and sorted as soon as possible by the team. Not a criticism just something to note.

EXCELLENT HOTEL ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.. my husband and I had a weekend break after travelling from Essex .. we arrived early and their was parking and our room was ready which was fantastic after a long journey .. lovely large exceptionally clean room very quiet .. we also went in the hot tub and pool which was all very clean and we throughly enjoyed it and towels where provided aswell …there was a great selection at breakfast and the service was excellent …the owner was vert very kind and “nothing “ was to much trouble for him during the whole stay …it was only a short walk to all the restaurants.. bars .. beach ..amusements .. shops .. rides ..and town centre ..it is the perfect location for everything ..I would just like to say thank you for a lovely stay and we will definitely be back 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The room was clean and comfortable, I was concerned it would be too small as listed as compact but whilst is was cozy it was in no way cramped or uncomfortable. Just a standard double, all the usually facilities and a compact but clean bathroom. I could not fault the hotel, great attentive staff. We were welcome by the owner but most of our stay were served by Felix their son. He was fantastic and couldn’t have been more helpful. Breakfast staff were friendly and accommodating and the breakfast ordering system was great. Some of our party had to be out early on one of the days and they happily arranged for staff to come in early and feed them. Rooms were clean so housekeeping are great too!

Everything was perfect from the moment I stepped foot through the door. And, as a solo female traveler, I felt safe, looked after and very well welcomed. The Riviera Hotel exceeded all my expectations, It is an incredibly well run family hotel. I’ll be back, with friends, family and on my own! The rooms are clean, comfortable and welcoming, the linen’s are crisp and clean, and the Breakfast was always delicious, always hot and a never a long wait. The facilities are second to none, with the Hot Tub being the cherry on the cake! Thank you and see you next year 😊

This was a very last minute booking but the hotel was so lovely. The staff were very warm and welcoming from the very moment we had arrived. Nothing was too big of an ask and they delivered in every aspect. The room was very lovely and homely, it was immaculate with luxuries provided. The breakfast service was lovely, ensuring our needs were met. The service was spot on! On our last day we had slept through breakfast, and as they noticed we weren’t there, they had offered us a little snack bag to take away with us for the journey. This touch was so lovely, and I have never seen service like this in any other hotel I’ve stayed at. A special thanks to John, Nicki and Felix, you guys had made our stay extra special. We really appreciated the hospitality you guys have offered. Due to that, we will definitely be coming back again!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
