Lovely & clean Twin bedded room with good bathroom facilities. Quality, white bath & hand towels supplied, such good sized towels too! Gorgeous, white, 100% cotton bedding with good quality Mattresses, quilts & pillows. We had excellent sleeps every night! We were self catering & so we didn't require breakfast, although there was a lovely dining room with facilities for us to make our own if we wished. The staff Maggie & management Roxanne were so friendly & accommodating, nothing was too much trouble! Plenty of free parking in the Hotel car park & free parking on the street next to the hotel car park if required, which is always a bonus in these busy tourist destinations! Once we parked up upon arrival, we didn't drive for the rest of the week. It's a very short downhill walk to get down to the beach & harbour, with several shortcuts of convenient stairs that take you right down to the seafront. The atmosphere at the Maycliffe was so peaceful, it helped make our weeks break so relaxing. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we extended our weeks stay by one more day! I'm just updating my review to say we would definately stay here again!

The only negative I can think of is that a couple of extra electrical sockets would have been useful, although I'm sure if I had mentioned this I would have been supplied with an extension lead with extra sockets :)

Booking The Maycliffe was a last minute panic booking as we were 'bumped out of' The Torbay Hotel less than 24hrs before we travelled, as they had overbooked!! We were greeted by exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. We were offered a choice of rooms and the one we chose had a nice seating area and a private entrance. All toiletries were supplied, as well as tea and coffee. There was plenty of parking space. Incredible value for the money.

Unfortunately the hotel is about a 15 minute walk from town, up a very steep hill (like the majority of Torquay!). Walking into town was OK but we only managed one return walk, instead we relied on taxis (plentiful, cost approx £5 - £6).

It was exactly as advertised and great value for money. Although an older style it was very clean and I had everything I needed. It had great parking and I found it easy to get to all Torquay has to offer. Staff were very approachable and helped me with my luggage.

People might struggle with the hill but I didn’t find it a problem.

The location was good as it wasn’t right in the town so found it to be quiet,it was lovely to have a smart tv in the room for more choice of programmes and the bed was extremely comfortable

The only problem I had was the shower kept going hot and cold,maybe a lot of people were using at the same time not sure.

The property was very clean and tidy. The staff who greeted us, were very happy and friendly and accommodating to us. We paid £67 for a double room, with ensuite shower/toilet/sink. For the price you pay it’s perfect and was all that was needed for our stay.

Room size was a little small, and the location of the hotel to walk to and from town is up hills. Which is about 15 mins walk. Taxis were very cheap only costing us £6 each way.

Great location. Basic but perfect for what we needed. The bed was very comfy, and the duvet and pillows were also great. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

For the price, nothing more that we could have asked for. Clearer directions potentially as we drive past it a few times!

Amazing position in Torquay for those either on foot (who aren’t afraid of hills and or steps, or for motorists

For the money it had all the essentials, a bit cramped but it is all there… including fridge/freezer, micro wave etc for residents use.
