Room number 216. Basic double room booked on B & B basis. This room has the wow factor. Windows over front of Hotel. Spacious bedroom comfortable bed side tables and wall lights. Two seater sofa, arm chair and coffee table. Wall unit with good size TV and tea/ coffee making area. Full length mirror and standard light. Decor modern and relaxing. From the bedroom you have a dressing room with a wardrobe, dressing table and mirror. Bathroom excellent and very up to date. Bath, shower cubicle , toilet with soft closer lid, and a sink. Shelve for storage and wall radiators.

Nothing the room was far better than expected. Comfy bed, spacious , and a view from the three windows over the gardens, promenade and water.

The location is great. The hotel is big and old and has character. The room I stayed in was decorated nicely. Tasteful, modern and neutral. Whilst I have some quibbles about cleanliness, I'm not a fussy person. The staff were nice. The lift is useful (but slow and often over subscribed) The hotel appears to really care about their guests and their holiday in the bay. I will definitely go back

The room was not spotless. There were lots of areas that were missed, clearly time and time again. Being barefoot was a risk. I don't look for hairs, cobwebs, grime - but it was there. The bed however (the only bit I'm really interested in) was clean and comfortable. The central light was very dim. My room was above the front entrance which hindered my ability to have the window open. Smokers congregate and the smoke and their loud voices enter the room. I didn't enjoy breakfast sadly.

Simon on the front desk was great, made us feel very welcome and was really happy and great to chat with. The room was great, very spacious and modern. Great location overlooking the water and a 2 minute walk to the theatre one way and restaurants and bars the other. Easy parking on fleet walk multi storey a few doors down, and we were offered a discount price by Simon, so only paid £8 for our 24 hours stay.

Only mild downsides - towels on the smaller side, and only one lift that sometimes took a while but really nit picking here! Also just to note - breakfast finishes at 9am but check out is until 10am, so we decided to skip breakfast and have a longer lie in, then went to the local weather spoons instead, so can't comment on the food, but the dining area was huge and well maintained.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel—it was in the perfect location! Everything was just a short walk away, including the harbour, shops, restaurants, and the heart of town. It made exploring the area so easy and convenient, and I loved being able to step out and be right in the middle of all the action.

One thing I didn’t particularly like about the hotel was the lift—it was quite slow. At times, I found myself waiting longer than expected, especially during busy periods. It wasn’t a major issue, but it did get a bit frustrating

The hotel is 3 star and met all our needs. Staff were friendly, lovely downstairs large seating area and bar. Very pleasant and comfortable. Entertainment Brian Adam’s tribute act. Very good, breakfast. We were able to check in slightly earlier than 3 and they upgraded our room to a sea view which was lovely. The room was large, clean crisp white bedding, comfortable bed. Which was perfect. Any one who watches four in a bed, there would have been some criticism 🤣ie a stain on the carpet, a little bit of dust in some areas but heh! who cares overall lovely.

The only criticism I have is that the breakfast is only between 7.30 and 9 and it was extremely busy when we went down at 8.30am (in which I would say most people had the same idea). This meant that the buffet trays became empty and were not refurbished quick enough therefore leaving everyone waiting. No one was monitoring them. Ideally for us we would have liked to had breakfast at 9.30. We were away for a break and would have like to have laid in a little bit later. The evening meals I noticed had two sitting 6pm and 7.30 which in itself says that breakfast sitting is not long enough as not everyone is booked in for the evening meal, but everyone is booked in for breakfast. Good breakfast though.

I loved the location, right in the middle of Torquay. A small stroll to the harbour and to the bars and restaurants.

Breakfast was nice but unfortunately because we went at 8 o'clock ( on a Sunday) there wasn't much left, I had to ask for bacon, sausage etc, and they did not serve fried eggs only scrambled. I thought if you stop serving breakfast at 9 you should still be able to have it. There were people arriving for breakfast at 8.45 and was very disappointed with the selection available to them.

When we arrived at the hotel we were pleasantly surprised to discover that our rooms had been upgraded to superior double rooms at the front of the hotel. we had no problem with the lift but it could have been bigger or another lift be installed. Breakfast was self service and the eggs supplied were scrambled but I did notice that some had poached eggs which were ordered. The breakfast was good. The hotel lounge sitting area is very large as is the ballroom. Entertainment provided was very good. I am disabled with a mobility scooter and nothing was too much trouble for staff when I needed assistance. The hotel is very close to the harbour and also the main shopping centre is nearby. My wife and I found this hotel had everything we could have wanted for a visit to Torquay. will be booking again in future.

There was nothing to dislike.

Check-in and check-out was very easy, the reception staff who greeted us on both of those occasions were incredibly nice and helpful, really warm and welcoming and it was a pleasure to have spoken to them. The room itself was very spacious, great view, clean to a good standard, WiFi was also reliable. Perfect location, right by everything you’d need.

The bathroom could’ve done with a little more ventilation as the window in there didn’t open. The staff member who was on the desk late at night was unreasonably rude, condescending and miserable, to the point where it affected the rest of our stay; when we checked out it was the same staff member who checked us in (who couldn’t have been more lovely), and had we not had the experience we did earlier in the night, we would’ve stuck around to chat a bit, we also would’ve had breakfast, but that guy really left us with a bad taste in our mouths.

Breakfast was a little bland to be honest. Great selection but just seemed inferior quality and having to get downstairs before 9am is a bit too early if you have been out the night before and the coffee was extremely strong and I like very weak milky coffee. Location was fantastic. The room was excellent but I think you could do with upgrade the quality a bit, for example, flaking outside windows, windows not clean, flaking paintwork so if that was done, it would be worth the room fee.

Location was fab ,bar staff were friendly and accommodating especially Kay ,drinks were reasonable price, reception staff were helpful also,entertainment was ok more for elderly people more so, rooms were big we stayed in delux on first floor ,we never ate there so can't comment on that ,on the hole I was happy with my stay ,I would book again ,no dislikes

Beds I found were quite hard and pillows were also ,for us ,but it's just general choice,no toiletries as such a push soap on wall but didn't work ,rooms were quite hot ,I would definitely stay again tho due to location & staff
