Lovely breakfast room Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff

We didn't like that dogs are allowed into the breakfast room the restaurant areas . Don't like the fact that more and more hotels are letting dogs into the hotels. This is a personal thing, but we don't appreciate being greeted by heavily tattooed staff with unkempt hair and we would have liked to see more staff in some sort of uniform.

Quiet attractive location. Parking v close to the hotel reception which was so convenient with baggage. Great breakfast and helpful staff on both the restaurant and reception. Nice walk into Oxford and close to bus routes too.

Bedroom didn’t have bottled water facilities

Large hotel with professional staff. Reception team were helpful organising our first night in Oxford from organising taxis to restaurant recommendations. We arrived late after the dining options had finished at the hotel so we welcomed the help. Liked the furnishings with the nod to Oxford's history in shoe making. Appreciated having a fridge in our room.

Room was smaller than expected, breakfast was ok, not worth £17, felt it was overpriced. My eggs Benedict was disappointing, slathered in too much sauce, muffin wasn't toasted and no ham.

Such a nice hotel. From the helpful friendly staff to the food and facilities. Breakfast was excellent and we ate well Dinner at Frank's we were among a handful of guests eating on Thursday evening but it was good food, not overly priced and nothing too much trouble. I needed to stay on my own until 4 on checkout day and this was easy to arrange. The room was clean with a gorgeous shower and the most fabulous gels and shampoo so I'm afraid I indulged a LOT. Bed very comfortable with nice crisp white linen. Will be using this hotel if/when we come back. Oh and rather than take the car into Oxford centre 😞 we walked to the nearby bus stop... buses every few minutes so really easy to use. Room had everything including fridge for our milk and cold drinks.

Lovely hotel, very nicely decorated on the inside and well kept on the outside. Super well located in regards to proximity to Oxford city centre but also in a quiet area. You can either get a bus (+-10min) or take a stroll along the river into the city (+-35min). The rooms are tidy, well equipped and very comfortable. Breakfast is also very decent. You have a choice between buffet food (continental and english cooked breakfast and you can also order some items of a menu. Perfect for 1-2 night stay close to the city.

It's not a dislike or a negative point, just something that could be changed/added. There is no drinks menu available at the bar, which might be handy to have for some guests :)

We had an absolutely delighful stay at the Hawkwell House. We loved the stylish and comfortable rooms, spacious garden, peaceful village vibe and proximity to Oxford city centre. The real highlight, however, was the kindness of the staff. When my son lost the key to his suitcase, Malcolm the manager unexpectedly came to our rescue-- sawing through the lock himself to save us from a locksmith's bill. His generosity truly brightened our day. This warm heartedness clearly extends to the whole team as all the staff members whom we encountered were equally thoughtful. It is not every day that you find such genuine care, making our time at Hawkwell House truly memorable.

Excellent accessible room. Comfortable beds and quiet location. Lovely building and decor. Well designed hotel and friendly staff on front desk.

Breakfast. Food was okay but could be better for price of the room. One person was not welcoming and we.didnt like being told off at breakfast. A "Good Morning how can I help you?" would have been much more polite than "if you've been here before you should know where the plates are". Table wasn't cleared until we asked as no clean tables available. Generally a poor experience which could be lovely in such a nice bright dining area.

Clean, beautiful design and not crowded. Shower was also very good. Very friendly staff. The surrounding were amazing so we preferred to walk to the city centre even though it was a 45 min walk. From one direction you can go to the city centre passing through different neighbours, and other direction (much more beautiful) was walking along the river. We did not have breakfast at the hotel and chose to eat breakfast after our walk every morning in a different spot in the city centre. Afternoon drinks at the hotel’s bar were great. Will revisit for sure.

Staff were all friendly.and when I told them it was my partners birthday the day we arrived they put card and few gifts in room that's a lovely touch. We loved that it was 12 clock out time on departure day makes alot difference it's not to early.

Just such ashame they had power cut sat morning we relise it wasn't hotels fault but we couldn't have showers or do my hair and we were goin to a wedding. then we had noisy generator allnite just outside are room even with window closed it was noisy. All that wasn't hotels fault but really spoilt it we got 100pd refund but I think perhaps we should got bit more back.

The hotel was set in beautiful grounds with places to sit and relax outside. Inside the decor was quirky - reflecting the things special to Oxford - brogues, trousers (bags) and shirts. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with so much variety and choice. We ate in the hotel and the meals were good - though I’d have liked more choice of meals without fish or meat.

I’m old fashioned and would have liked a chest of drawers to store my clothes - it was adequate, though, if you were only there for a day or two. We stayed for 5
