The hotel is in a lovely locacation. Easy to find and with lots of interesting things to see if you like quiet English villages (even though it's a half hour walk from the city centre) The hotel itself is a character piece so you have to manage your expectations. I imagine each room has unique characteristics. I had a tiny bedroom but an enormous bathroom and a walk-in wardrobe with a window in it. There is also a bar which serves as a local pub and people seem friendly enough.

The building needs a bit of love: It's old and in danger of looking run down. The windows need urgent attention, but most everything works just fine.

Hotel rooms are above a restaurant so there is noise until around 11pm The walls are thin so you can hear other people talking in their rooms

Gorgeous old house, in a quiet tree-filled neighborhood—with a 12th century church and some thatched roof houses and gorgeous gardens. Pretty and quiet. You can hear the doves. The room was nice and comfortable, a very spacious bathroom, a good shower, a comfy bed. Older furniture and decor but really cosy. Tea kettle and cookies provided. Breakfast was delicious—perfect eggs with avocado toast or salmon, and cereal. And there’s even a little kids playground outside the house!

I didn’t mind these but: - it’s a bit outside of Oxford, 45 minutes’ walk to Magdalen College (there is a bus, AND the walk is nice) - no elevator—you carry your suitcase up a couple flights of stairs

Very friendly and helpful staff made me feel very welcome. Breakfast, bar food and restaurant excellent. The Asian cuisine is first-class. The hotel is in a nice setting, only 15 minutes or so by taxi from the city centre. There is a very pleasant ourdoor area for food and drink.

The building is slightly dilapidated and could do with some TLC. Small things, such as faulty lock on the bedroom door and peeling paint on the old-fashioned metal-frame windows in the bathroom. Also, the walls are pretty thin, so it's possible to follow a conversation next door!

Bit dated, the wardrobe was wobbly and slowly falling apart and the drawer front fell off when too chef, BUT I can see they have been upgrading in areas so fair enough as it takes time to do a whole hotel. Did not spoil my stay

The fact that the young ladies bar staff came out to find me to lead me back to the hotel which was more than I expected. The room was a welcome sight after trying to find and was comfortable and clean, The breakfast was basic but excellent.

Very hard to find as it is tucked away off the main Iffley Road especially in the dark. An there are no directions to get to it. If the lovely girls had not come out I would have been quite lost. Also be prepared for chicken sausages as this is run by Asians you will not get pork sausages.

Spacious and bright bedroom and bathroom. Decent choice of warm breakfasts, we liked the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. Millie in the restaurant was particularly friendly and helpful. A couple of issues when we arrived were dealt with promptly. The hotel is a bit run down but is very good value for money.

Privately run place. Very friendly owner and lovely bar staff. Nice bar, good atmosphere and full Indian menu which was lovely. Place could do with some cosmetic upgrades but I like to support these businesses run by people trying hard against the chains. Free parking too. Would definitely return when next in Oxford

It was a great location for my stay. I was meeting friends and we all walked along the river to the city centre to spend the day. Others have commented on the decor...and yes...it's a little tired. Does that matter when you're out exploring all day and just need somewhere clean to sleep. I thought it was great value for money considering what I paid for bed and breakfast. The staff were friendly and gave me the key before check in so I could return whenever I wanted. Left the car there much earlier than check in time . Would definitely stay here again 😊

The lovely location, the comfortable bed, the bathroom, the breakfast, the bar.

Not enough plug sockets that work, and one of the bedside lamps didn't work. Needs a bit of decorating, but didn't affect our comfort. Had a good sleep, but could have blackout curtains to keep the light out on the morning
