The location was perfect for exploring the area and there was a reasonably priced overnight car park nearby. Staff (Luke) was very friendly and helpful and the restaurant across the road (The Royal) was very nice for dinner and breakfast
The only negative comment was that the staircarpet leading to our room was quite dirty and stained - room itself was very clean, so no problems there, but it was just a poor first impression and it needs replacing with something more hard-wearing and easier to clean

How friendly and accommodating the hosts were. We arrived early so left our bags which were taken upstairs and put in our rooms. It was a hot day and fans had been placed in the room to cool it down. The rooms were small but equipped with a fridge and hot drink facilities. The location was great.
Only a couple of minor things. The bed was uncomfortable, the wallpaper was peeling off the walls and the main lights flickered.

This is a pub with rooms. It also has a good selection of draught and keg beers, We were looked after by a bar manager who successfully dealt with rooms, customers, cellar and staff simultaneously. He also seamlessly transferred us to a room above their sister restaurant opposite, because there was a problem with the heating in our room. He went the extra few yards and steps to get our luggage back when our room was sorted.

Excellent location, cosy and comfortable pub, ideal for my purpose which is visiting an elderly relation in a care home nearby.
My room was very cosy and comfortable. Three minor things: the hot tap turned on the opposite way to the ‘normal’ way and consequently always sprayed the area around the sink with lots of water…very high pressure. 2) There was a small bottle of ‘fresh’ milk in the fridge which was great, however the milk had curdled. 3) It was, I think, the coldest night of the year and I did feel a bit chilly in the middle of the night (no extra blankets around).

Our host was very helpful and our room was very clean , had everything we needed for our night stay. Its location to the town perfect. Lots of eating places in the town or we could have had breakfast opposite. The rooms are in a separate building so there is no noise from the pub
Sadly owing to its position and age there’s no onsite parking albeit there is a paying car park close by.

A lovely welcome: self-contained accommodation above the pub and comfortable twin beds (as requested). Our host supplied a complimentary breakfast in the room of cereals, milk/fruit juice/ choc croissants which was very considerate for (Ridgeway) walkers wanting an early start. Despite having a room/windows facing a main road through Wallingford it wasn't noisy in the middle of the night.
Nothing - straightforward pub/bed accommodation (with additional cooked breakfast if desired) at market value.

A warm and helpful welcome. The room was extremely clean, with all facilities I required. I was particularly pleased to have a bath as well as a shower. A large, very comfortable bed. Excellent position to enjoy Wallingford.

Staff were very helpful, and the place was good and pity they don't do breakfast but plenty of places to eat in the town.
Nothing really just lacks breakfast facilities. And parking could be a problem.

Loved the pub in a great location with a good atmosphere. Everyone, staff and locals very friendly. Big shout-out to Luke who gave a great welcome and was very informative. Easy to check-in and out. Definately stay again.
Unfortunately the owner Lynn was away so there was no dinner or cooked breakfast available. To be fair to her, she had pre-warned me well in advance and she did offer a "breakfast bag". There were plenty of alternatives in the town.

Lovely room, small but well equipped (including a fridge and fan), great shower pressure and lashings of hot water. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the bathroom and everything spotlessly clean. Would stay again in a heartbeat, thank you to the whole team.
