Rose was very welcoming. We had all facilities required for our stay and nothing was too much trouble..Very homely friendly feel to our experience at the cottage. Breakfast excellent and plenty of choices hot and cold, even preordered hot full english, so ready for when you awake, after a relaxing sleep, with quiet fan assist ceiling light if required in the summer..Plenty of garden seating and large space if youd like to sit out and soak up the tranquility off this beautiful village ...Loved the stay and would recommended highly..Phil and Michelle

This is a wonderful place to stay. The location is amazing as it is only a short walk to the village and river thames with lovely walks in all directions. Rose is a lovely lady who makes you feel so welcome and her cottage is very clean and comfortable and had everything you need for a great holiday. The breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit and cereals and then a full english or other options. There are some lovely restaurants and pubs in the village and it is close to the station for Oxford etc.

Rose was very welcoming and helpful. The property was in a nice quiet location and was spotlessly clean. The garden is beautiful, we sat out there in the morning before we left, and Rose kindly allowed us to stay at the cottage until our lift arrived. Ample parking space, too. Breakfast was really great, there was fresh fruit, cereals and hot food. I think Rose does a great job running this lovely place.

The front door is a bit tricky to lock and unlock, but that was likely our fault for forgetting the instructions on how to do it!

Breakfast was especially good, plenty of varied summer fruits in bowls, freshly baked croissants and good tea. The twin room was big enough, an excellent wash basin had a wide porcelain top to place wash bags etc. The shower-room was next door. There is a large back garden growing vegetables and several well tended flower beds. The property is towards the end of a cul de sac and is very quiet, We parked the car on the drive.

It was very hot during our stay and we found the duvet rather warm.

Spacious room with it’s own sink, small fridge, kettle and tea cups. Also a TV. Pleasant outdoor view. The breakfast menu was varied and it was all very good. For example, one morning I had kippers with poached eggs, the next a full English breakfast. Rose is a sweetheart and I enjoyed our daily chats.

This charming B&B is located in a quiet road within a 5 minute walk from the village centre and the railway station. There was ample room to park. The host, Rose, was very welcoming to her home and a delight to chat with. Rose was extremely accommodating, letting my son join me for breakfast. Now when it comes to breakfasts, this exceeded my expectations, absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend Melrose Cottage to anyone visiting this lovely area. I will be returning.

Excellent breakfast - really well cooked and lovely range of fresh fruit. Great to be able to store our bikes indoors (we were cycling the King Alfred's Way). We arrived after food stopped being served in Goring (Sunday evening) but it was only a 15 minute walk to the riverside restaurant in Streatley. Good range of teas in the bedroom. Good flexibility for a group, having twin beds in the rooms.

Rose was very lovely and welcoming. Its like staying at Grandmas house! I had the downstairs ensuite room at the back. It was very quite. It had a fridge with milk, microwave and kettle. I didnt have any breakfast as I left before 7am but Rose offered to leave something out for me if I wanted like cereals, bread etc. She was there when I was leaving and insisted I at least took a banana :-)

Nothing really to dislike although the price was a little steep for just a room but overall I didnt mind as Rose was so lovely!

Rose was wonderful. So accommodating and kind and made a wonderful breakfast and packed lunches for our Ridgeway walk. A really homely stay with all the things done right. A great location. Oh and a handy little fridge and milk provided. We booked a double, but needed a twin, but when we got there Rose was able to change it and put us in the Twin, which was handy.

It was great to be in this real bed and breakfast offered by Rose, and our rooms made us feel right at home. The opportunity to sit in her large back yard was much appreciated. Even more so, we were so impressed by both the full English and continental breakfast she offered us. We used the packed lunch option she offered, and were not disappointed. Rose was an excellent host all round.

Nothing we can think of.
