The rooms are well furnished and very clean. We stayed in Browning, which overlooked the village square. The pub serves fantastic food in both a pub and restaurant setting. It is situated very closed to Renegade Brewery, which is well worth a visit. The staff were very helpful and friendly. A special mention should go to the Kiwi guy (we forgot to ask his name) who was fantastic.

At times, we could hear people next door. This did not put us off but it may be something to know if you are particularly sensitive to noise. Other rooms may, however, have better soundproofing.

We had a lovely meal in the restaurant it was in a very nicely decorated room, you could see the chefs cooking. I expect it would be lovely in Summer as the garden looked amazing. The food and service were both good. There was a good choice on the menu and the food was tasty and well presented. We also had breakfast and it was good too. Only one small thing, we had the granola, there was far too much (half of the amount would have been sufficient) and it lacked yoghurt, had to ask for more as it was very dry. We stayed in the outside room as there was three of us we had two rooms, both were very nicely decorated. There was nothing to criticise, the bathroom was amazing and the room I stayed in with my husband had a door to a garden outside, again would be lovely in the summer. My son had the upstairs room and it was also very nice. It was a very short walk to where we ate and had breakfast. There was no car parking but we parked at a small car park nearby. Staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly during our stay.

The heating had been turned up to warm the room. We forgot about it and the room was very hot through the night. If you stay make sure you check the controls on the radiator are low.

Large, well decorated room with an equally spacious bathroom. I had access to a small garden directly from my room which was a lovely spot to sit in on a sunny evening. Both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were delicious with plenty of choice. The village itself is very picturesque, surrounded by green countryside. I was getting married the next day so had my hair and makeup done in my room and it was a lovely space to get ready in.

It was a little hot in my bedroom even with the windows open as it was a hot day - a fan might have been a good option to provide in the summer months.

Clean, warm and a very comfortable bed. Attentive and friendly service by the two young ladies at dinner. Good breakfast.

No Wi-Fi reception in Room 8:(cottage). Didn’t like that rooms were named after guns (we were in Beretta) with a picture of a gun above the bed. Just my personal view but whilst I appreciate you are trying to appeal to the hunting and shooting brigade, it seemed unnecessary.

Our stay was incredible! We brought two baby cots and our daughters and the hotel was super welcoming. The room was comfortable and stocked with Bramley products which I love. The pub below the rooms is super cosy with an amazing bright conservatory and a big gorgeous back garden. We had two wonderful dinners there (don’t miss the 12h lamb shoulder for 2) and the breakfast is fantastic, really good food. Wine list is also great and fairly priced. Overall we had really fabulous stay! If you go with children don’t miss Bucklebury Farm.

The room is easily accessed - very spacious, warm, clean and a comfortable bed. The en-suite is a large room with a big walk in shower (lots of hot water).

The cooked breakfast had undercooked fried eggs, undercooked black pudding and overcooked bacon. No toast offered after. Sourdough bread only. A bowl of yogurt with a little granola sprinkled over and a small spoonful of defrosted mixed fruit. Think I'm out of date with breakfast. Pulls on headboard and throw on bed (dogs allowed on the bed)?

Lovely location, seems a characterful and popular venue for food, and a great menu choice with different diets accommodated. Food service incredibly quick and efficient - would definitely wish to eat here again. Venue itself has lots of different areas in which to sit, with bright and airy restaurant that still managed to feel almost cosy, looking out onto lovely garden. Staff really nice and accommodating. Room comfortable and spacious. Ideal location for events at Englefield House a short distance away, which is why we booked it - we will definitely use again!

Sometimes a little noisy due to location/road - it is a pub after all! Would have preferred a little more soundproofing perhaps, both in the room and the bathroom (bit of an echo, and this bathroom had a fire exit door opening directly onto corridor which was a bit disconcerting!) Noise travel about the only issue.

A wonderful stay with fabulous people who made us very welcome. Great staff who were able to help with anything we needed. The cottage room was excellent for dogs and beautifully decorated, very comfortable and spacious with great bathroom and shower. We loved the location, great walks nearby and idyllic setting. The breakfasts were delicious as were the evening meals. Just a great place with a wonderful atmosphere.

The room was great, bed very comfortable.

Breakfast wasn't quite as good as it should have been as the chef struggled to get it all out at the same time, resulting in most items being fine but toast hard and poached eggs underdone for one of us. Otherwise, it was excellent. As for the room, great - only slight gripe was no curtain or blind in the bathroom. Minor.
