The location and free car parking, coupled with the very convenient rail access for Oxford and Didcot makes the Railway Inn at Culham an excellent place to stay. The satisfying breakfasts and evening meals, served by helpful and friendly staff added to the satisfaction and value of our stay in June 2024. We had a quiet comfortable room on the ground floor. The rail line is busy day and night but we did not find it intrusive and always slept well.

Very comfortable bed, hot shower and nice cooked breakfast. Perfect location for Culham Science park. As the name suggests, it is right next to the railway so you do have to expect the noise of some passing trains at night. However I selpt well. Staff are friendly and helpful.

This stay was exceptional value for money and 5 minutes away from my appointment the following day. The staff were friendly and welcoming with one lady pretty much looking after everything. My evening meal was very enjoyable as was breakfast the following morning. My room was a good size, clean and comfortable with plenty of electricity sockets and good WiFi reception. I loved all the railway memorabilia in the main reception, bar and restaurant area and the place had a real family feel to it.

For the value for money, there was very little to be critical about. I noticed the radiator didn't appear to work but then the heat from the one in the main bedroom soon filtered through.

Check in, the room, overall comfort.

Parts of the hotel looked a little tired, and a lick of paint would help in a few places. A hand rail on the stairs was loose. We would have preferred a room which had a normal window with a view of the area rather than a Velux type window. These are minor issues, however. It was our second stay at the hotel, in the same room as I recall, so it didn't stop us coming back!

I was aware that the Railway Inn was right next to the railway line but there was no noise issues. The welcome and service was superb. I ate there in the evening and the breakfast was lovely. My room was lovely and warm and spacious.

I am finding it difficult to find anything to pick up on so being very picky, the mattress was a bit soft for me and the shower cubicle glass could have done with a deeper clean.

Great location for the business park I needed. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Rooms were clean and well kept and a brilliant stash of tea and biscuits - simple pleasures!

Not a complaint as I was aware of location and passing trains and times but I know not everyone thinks of this so I just used some white noise when the trains started in the morning and I wasn’t ready to get up.

Very friendly staff and a convenient location. The room was well appointed with a comfortable bed, good shower and plenty of power outlets for charging tech - amazing how many places still don't have that. Breakfast was excellent with a very handy tick sheet so that you could select what you want and the staff cook it for you, very promptly. Perfect for a business traveller and great value for money.

Bear in mind if you are a light sleeper that it is next to a railway (clue is in the name!), so passing trains shake the room. TV was a bit basic but otherwise this place is great.

We loved the owner and the other staff we encountered. We loved the dog, Brunel, that. greeted us. It was a quaint and cute place. The breakfast was lovely. We were the only ones that morning (just before Christmas), and she got up to feed us. It was lovely.

The walk to the room was a little weird since it went on to the roof, but it was fine. It was just a little weird because it was rainy.

We were pleasantly surprised at the warmth of our arrival, the lovely rooms we had and all their facilities, the uniqueness of being next to the railway line, which we found rather exciting and novel, not to mention the really good food at diner and breakfast. We loved it and would surely stay again if and when we find ourselves in that area. Should also like to mention how attentive and friendly the staff were. Best ever. Well done.

Nothing - don’t spoil it.

The place is a proper typical pub, homely with fantastic friendly staff, great set up for breakfasts .Can't pass comment on evening meals as I was there to go to a wedding locally so meal wasn't required. Literally everyone so friendly and welcoming. So nice as I was on my own and don't know the area. Landlady even dropped me at the wedding venue as local taxis were super busy and unavailable for an extended time.
