Location - right in heart of the town but on riverside. Lovely gardens. Good location for visiting Oxford and Blenheim Palace Interesting old building Decent breakfast - full English and continental choices Staff were friendly and helpful; special thanks to the night manager who managed to get fellow guests who were talking and drinking on the patio outside our room at 1215am to go to bed!

The stable rooms are v small - to be fair they had described them as’ cosy’; and quite hot as it only had one small opening window - though there was a fan. All the lights fused except bathroom so we had no bedside or room light - just as well we didn’t want to read ! Had to park outside the hotel in public car park as hotel car park was small - so get there early to grab a space - we had to get up early to move car to avoid charges.

Breakfast good Hotel in great location next to the river with a lovely garden. A combination of historic and modern buildings. A popular venue for weddings. Great staff who were all very friendly and helpful.

Room didn’t have air conditioning and it would be very hot in summer. Bathroom the mirror was high on wall I couldn’t see my face in it! Also shower badly fitted and bracket for shower head didn’t come out far enough most of water ran down wall. Both very bizarre and unnecessary faults. Bedroom very comfortable.

Location for the centre of town was fabulous. Walking distance from all the points of interest. Hotel overlooking the Thames from the garden which we used everyday as it was beautiful weather for our stay. Hotel never seemed too busy and we always got somewhere to sit outside to have a drink. Staff were lovely and went out of their way to help. Love the building as it is listed and very characterful. Breakfast was of very good quality and varied but would suggest better ways to keep it hot as I found it was warm.

There was nothing i disliked however I had booked 2 rooms and the twin was for my mum who is 88 and suffers with sight loss and her friend who is 80 and they were given a room with a bathroom which was up 2 steps and then down a small walkway to another 3 steps down into the bathroom. The shower was also over the bath. This wasn't the best room for them but they managed. I am aware the hotel doesn't have a lot of twin rooms and the hotel was fully booked so i was unable to change it. If you have mobility issues then this maybe an issue for some.

The room was cosy, clean and comfortable. The outside gardens and view were great for rest and relaxation. The staff was polite and helpful. Breakfast was varied and good.

The room was small but enough just for one person. The hotel was booked for a private event and restaurant was not working but understandable the reason but was a shame that didn't had the opportunity to enjoy the gardens more. Also because of the private event there wasn't any parking and had to leave the car outside the property on a public parking that wasn't paid overnight but at 8am had to find some corner in the hotel to park it.

The situation of the hotel and rooms were very picturesque. Our room had an amazing view overlooking the river. Very clean and modern room with a comfy bed and lovely bathroom.

Plug socket on both sides of the bed was needed. Had to checkout early before breakfast and was offered a takeaway breakfast which was very poor. There was no bottle of water, no spoon to eat the yogurt, 2 tiny slices of bread with a jam and marmalade portion, no butter and no knife to spread the jam. Also the restaurant was closed as a function was on and had to go elsewhere for an evening meal.

Beautiful location. Easy walk into town where there were plenty of nice places to eat. Lovely breakfast with a view.

Room was clean and comfortable but was very disappointed with the view. We had room 7 which has opaqued windows so you can’t see out but when we opened the window we could see why, just had a bee of the roof and generators. The double room I chose on booking.com had a lovely view so not sure what happened there? We were only staying one night so it was ok but would have mentioned it if staying longer. We would however stay here again and I would make sure we don’t get room 7.

The WiFi was impossible to access. We did not have the WR code leaflet in our room and I spent 20 fruitless minutes with the porter as he gave me pieces of paper with a variety of password/username combos, but he was advising me to go into the wrong WiFi network. He was kind and helpful and polite, but clearly did not know how to use the WiFi system. The next morning I saw the leaflet in my children’s bedroom, and was up and running within minutes. So that was quite frustrating. But otherwise we had a great stay thank you.

The property was set in a beautiful location. The grounds were idyllic and the Thames running at the bottom of the gardens with narrow boats sailing along was lovely. Staff were so helpful and professional. The double deluxe room was clean and nice and the tea & coffee station was well stocked. The room was cleaned on a daily basis

The breakfast choice was good, if you asked for toast they made it fresh for you. The staff were very helpful. The negative was the hot breakfast items were not hot at all, only lukewarm which I didn’t like. The sausages were not appetising as the skin was like rubber. I am definitely not a complainer but all of our family did agree that the hot breakfast could have been better.

Abingdon is never going to be cheap so we thought The Cosener's represented really good value for money. The setting is stunning with lawns leading down to the river, tucked out the way in a quiet cul-de-sac but only 250 metres walk from the bustling town centre. Staff excellent. Really good breakfast spread with eggs cooked fresh to order and the nicest staff imaginable who went the extra mile to make the whole stay perfect. Room was spotless with high quality bathroom, comfy bed and good brands on the tea/coffee making tray. Cosy bar with sensible prices and lovely patio looking out over the gardens to the river

A place as grand as this for the same price as a premier inn! Whats not to like?

The hotel was absolutely lovely. The staff were lovely to the lady on reception when we got there after a very long drive was lovely. The setting was absolutely amazing to the nice weather helped a lot, The lady on reception also gave us some good recommendations to have a drink and food In the town 😀

The room was very basic and yes didn't pay a lot. There was a kettle in the room but had to put it on the floor to boil it as no plug socket near it a bit inconvenient really. The bed was very tight to the bathroom door. Also had to ask for decaf tea at breakfast and was brought 1 tea bag out of the kitchen. Also my husband had the bacon which was very hard 😕
