STAFF everywhere were smiling, polite and helpful in the extreme, making it a very enjoyable and relaxing time.

Have stayed here before , (and had led a number of training sessions here on behalf of Oxfordshire LA in the past) , and enjoyed the ambience / grounds etc... A very good breakfast with plenty of choices , and a clean and well furnished room .

Would really like to stay in somewhere other than the garden wing - whilst the rooms are fine from the interior , it was a trek to get to it from reception after a very long drive down from the north , and the building looks very 'down at heal ' from the exterior.

The wonderful grounds in which we were able to exercise our dog, and enjoy a nice countryside walk. Great seating areas around the outside of the hotel and well manicured gardens. Probably the best shower we have experienced in a reasonably priced hotel. Nice clean room , towels and bedding. Plenty of car parking.

The exterior looks of the garden wing, which appear to be a large concrete block, not in keeping with the rest of the buildings or surroundings, however once inside became more acceptable. A lovely bathroom, let down by very thin and poor quality toilet paper. Poor external lighting at night.

We stayed on a DBB rate which was incredibly cheap. The bedroom and food were excellent as were the new refurbishments. We spent long evenings sat outside watching the beautiful countryside. The staff were absolutely brilliant too.

The lighting in the dining room for an evening meal is TOO bright!! It brings zero ambience. Also our first night there were children running around the dining room, shouting and screaming. No-one wants this during dinner and they were doing it the whole time we were in there - 8:30-10pm. I eventually asked a staff member to address it - I think he was the manager. He tried to but it was ignored.

Beautiful location and grounds, perfect for bringing a dog. The walks around the grounds were lovely and well mapped out to follow. Beautiful Italian garden and outside patio area with plenty of seating. Rooms were clean and spacious, including dog friendly rooms. Breakfast had a good choice of items. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

As we had booked breakfast and had a dog we were instructed that we would be seated in the bar and lounge area which was no problem. However on both mornings, no cutlery was provided so we had to go and find some. It would be nice if a couple of tables in the bar room were set for breakfast if people have booked breakfast with a dog. The outside of the garden wing block looks quite off putting but the inside is lovely and well kept. A coat of paint on the exterior would be make it look much more appealing. We had a wonderful stay at Milton Hill House and would definitely come again and recommend to others (these are just small details).

Elegant period hotel surrounded by extensive gardens, lots of lovely outside areas to sit including an Italian garden in countryside location with plenty of parking & indoor pool. Inside the main hotel building all areas are beautifully furnished as was our deluxe room. The restaurant has a lovely relaxed feel & well appointed with views over the gardens. We enjoyed a very good dinner made even more enjoyable by all the delightful staff who were all so friendly & did everything possible to ensure we had a lovely evening. Thank you Ellie, Chloe, Paige, Kaleb & the charming Anna in the bar, you certainly are the A Team ! The breakfast buffet was superb, the choices extensive , all delicious. 10/10 Although our stay was short & sweet our impression of this hotel was that every member of staff enjoyed their work , were always smiling & polite which gave a wonderful atmosphere around the hotel, a rarity these days! We are already planning a return visit we enjoyed our stay so much.

Our stay was too short!

We were warmly greeted at reception on our arrival. Due to building works on site, we were provided with a map which was helpful and very clear. While there was a wedding taking place the sound was entirely contained within that area of the hotel. We met with family in the foyer and reception staff were happy to allow us to move the furniture around! The staff at breakfast were very friendly and helpful.

We had some difficulty finding the venue and the telephone was not answered when we called for directions.

I love the location and the grounds. The rooms are good and beds are comfy. My favourite space is the Italian Garden.

There was an issue with breakfasts this time, which was a shame. We stayed before the dining room refurbishment (April 2025). Everyone was complaining about the issues with the cooked breakfasts not being available as a while. You’d be waiting with your plate of bacon and beans…. Which was going cold, while waiting for eggs. I felt sorry for the staff who were running backwards and forwards to the kitchen… getting lots of people asking them for different items. The new trays are very small and only hold a few eggs, for example. There were a couple of weddings in and it seemed the kitchen hadn’t taken that into consideration. Real shame! Otherwise a lovely mini break. Just spoilt by poor planning for the hotel being very full.

Room was lovely - although it was a personal trip I did have to do some work to do and the desk area was very useful. Comfy bed. Pool was nice - quiet early morning swim. However, website said towels were available at the gym reception and there wasn't a reception, just a door swipe card to access, so no towels. Receptionist on booking in/checking out was very pleasant & helpful - also found us wandering round lost later and took us the right way! Nice grounds, enjoyed a pleasant walk around.

Breakfast was poor in that there were enough staff around but they didn't really do anything useful. I waited 20 minutes for bacon and a further 5 minutes for tomatoes, even though I had advised there were no tomatoes at the same time as the bacon. Yogurt and museli were empty too and were not replenished at all. Limited fruit on offer. No one was checked in for breakfast, so there was no monitoring of how many people were left to come in - a useful guide to work out how much to top up. Plates weren't cleared from tables either. I've done this role in the past, it's not difficult, but there is more to it than just wandering round smiling vacantly, guys!

Lovely main house with beautiful decor and character, surrounded by fabulous green grounds.

The garden wing visually not appealing, our room on the small side, although we were lucky to get the park view and not car park view. The bathroom very small and pokey and sink had no hot water unless the shower was running at the same time. Breakfast nice but limited compared to other hotels we've stayed in and mid week, only on offer till 9am.
