Have stayed here before , (and had led a number of training sessions here on behalf of Oxfordshire LA in the past) , and enjoyed the ambience / grounds etc... A very good breakfast with plenty of choices , and a clean and well furnished room .

Would really like to stay in somewhere other than the garden wing - whilst the rooms are fine from the interior , it was a trek to get to it from reception after a very long drive down from the north , and the building looks very 'down at heal ' from the exterior.

The hotel is set in large grounds and provide a nice walk or run. The house is quite grand, and has an Italianate Garden to enjoy. The breakfast, was self service and all the food was good. Coffee/Tea is available during the day. Standard Double was an ok size of room. Bath room nice, with walk in shower. Staff very nice and helpful. Though work was going on in the hotel to improve guest areas it did not feel like a building site, and apart from some parking space lost for construction materials you would not have noticed the work going on.

Not major issues: 1) did not get told that work at hotel was going on until just before stay. 2) Though room booked, and the booking did say which wing the room was in, it was not clear until we got there that the wing was of a 1970's/80's build so hundreds of years younger than the main house, and the concrete walls looked tired. There was no photos of the external building shown on the Booking.Com website. Having said that, I would consider going here again, but may choose my room more wisely.

Lovely helpful staff, great pool facilities, th jacuzzi and steam and sauna a great bonus, really goo value for money and great location, the main building was beautiful and so were the grounds, the rooms were clean and cosy.

The car park at the back was full so had to park my car at the front of the building, which was a long walk to the room. Also would be nice to have had a bath in the room, not just a shower. Our rooms were in a brutalist building at the back, the middle garden square was in need of of some updating. And breakfast was in the bar while the restaurant was being developed, only one coffee machine and a big queue.

The staff were very friendly, the food was very good. Location of the Hotel was very peaceful.

Although we were advised before our stay that renovation work was being carried out it was slightly disappointing to have a builders storage container directly outside our room window blocking any view we may of had. Due to the dining room being relocated into the bar area, breakfast was a little disorganised. Cutlery was not readily available, hot drinks were situated in another room off the bar and there was a long wait for some hot breakfast items to be available.A plus point of the situation was the staff were very quick to tidy the tables and on hand to assist. The choices of breakfast items were numerous and very tasty.

Just a lovely place & excellent location for working at Harwell or Abingdon Rooms were spotless Staff very helpful & happy! Breakfast was excellent Located next-door to the Packhorse, which is a great pub / restaurant Good safe parking, next to accommodation Didn't get a chance to use the leasure facilities on this occasion, but everything appeared well-maintained & very clean! Will come back

My room was next to an internal fire-door, which kept being bumped & banged all night... I did mention this when I checked out I will certainly stay again though..... just will make sure that I choose another room...

We liked the room which had a view over the garden. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast where we had so much choice and the service and provision were excellent. We had dinner at the hotel. There was a good menu and the service was excellent. Very pleasant staff. We had a drink in the bar. The bar staff were very helpful and good humoured. We liked the reception area and all the grandeur of the Milton Hill House Hotel. We didn't have time to use the facilities but we appreciated the swimming pool and the gym. We liked the long hours at the swimming pool and the fact that the windows in our room could be opened. Reception staff were also very helpful and pleasant. We are recommending this hotel to our friends.

I didn't see any acknowledgement given to the history of the house. I did look up the history on google and it was so interesting.

No lift A bit noisy at the front of hotel as my room was above main entrance Shower broken and not very powerful Rooms a bit tired, peeling wallpaper and carpets worn, dirty in places Hotel was cold in many places had to get extra heater for the room which they kindly provided, this helped No fridge

Hotel is quite laege and rambling but all rooms are big and comfy. There is a decent sized swimming pool and the breakfast is excellent. When we were there there were several Christmas parties on and in the morning the reastaurant was completely full. So the staff opened the doors to the next room and laid more tables to make sure everyone had a seat. Few hotels would make the effort.

When the hotel is full, you may have trouble finding a space to park near your room. But there will be spaces and you can use any entrance to enter the hotel - just make sure you have a map so you dont get lost!

Breakfast was more than adequate. The setting was lovely, as was the main house and the cottages looked charming. Sadly my room was in a soulless cinderblock addition, though comfortable and clean. Clearly, this property needs some care and attention - loose brickwork and pavers throughout the pergola area were outright dangerous. Woodwork around doors and windows in chipped, scrappy condition in high use areas. The pond was in dire need of cleaning as well. Staff were polite and professional and service was good. The superb location is what recommends this property.

Breakfast was amazing, loads of really delicious food and choice, couldn't have been happier about the selection and standard of the food, really good for the cost as well. Room was very peaceful and comfortable, we had a brilliant nights sleep. The pool was excellent, staff really friendly and helpful, the site was lovely, the staff were super helpful and happy to sort out any issues and they were really kind and met all of our needs.

I had to send my dinner back, it was pork belly and the rind was super chewy. The waitress got me a different meal very quick. I had a toddler with me so it's a bit like everything is on a time limit with a little one. They did meet the time limit fine but I just felt a bit stressed that they might not. And saying all that they were very cool about me being in the restaurant with a lively little one.
