The welcome was very friendly. We were able to park right outside. We bought a drink, watched England's quarter final game! When we were ready we were shown to our room, given our key and settled in. The room was very comfortable with high quality bed linen and towels. The shower room and toilet was of a high standard. Tea and coffee making facilities and a complimentary continental breakfast was pleasantly acceptable. We ordered and ate dinner whilst chatting to other patrons. As it was to be a relaxing weekend we remained in the bar until late and it was a short climb to our comfortable room! Given the occasion to be in that area again we shall certainly stay at the Plum Pudding Inn again.

We were very pleased with our overnight stay. Nothing to the contrary.

Rooms were fabulous, spacious, nicely dressed and furnished, and the bathroom with the walk-in shower was great - more than I was expecting from a country pub-type hotel. Food in the restaurant (we had dinner) was also very good, both quality and choices available.

Nothing really. A proper sit-down breakfast option would have been nice, but I guess that can be tricky on a Sunday morning from a staff perspective. What was provided in room was fine.

Room was absolutely spotless. Every day the breakfast goods are restocked along with clean bedsheets and towels. As a bonus there was a folk music session in the pub below on our last night - quiet enough that it couldn't be heard in the room but wonderful to listen to them downstairs! It's obvious a lot of time and care is put into the place. We'd definitely return in future.

The fan in the room was fairly hopeless against the unfortunate 30+ degree heat, so could maybe do with an upgrade - but this is a minor thing for such a great stay.

The included breakfast in the room was a lovely touch. Croissant, juice, preserves, fresh fruit, porridge pot & fresh milk. Also the inclusion of a coffee maker rather than instant coffee was welcomed. The evening menu was varied & good quality. I even had the opportunity to watch the Regional game of 'Aunt Sally' which was interesting! I would defo stay again!

The rooms were spotless and seemed to have been recently renovated - the decor had a light, fresh feeling. The staff were very friendly and explained how everything worked, even though the pub itself was going to be closed that evening. The location was very quiet (even more so as the pub was closed!) We liked the arrangements for the continental breakfast, too; the room had a mini fridge with everything you could need for breakfast including fresh milk (not UHT!) This meant that we could have breakfast in the room as and when we wanted to. The Nespresso machine was a lovely extra touch too. Perfect!

Just one tiny Even Better If.... It would be good if the bathroom had hooks or a rail to hang towels on, but otherwise faultless!

Lovely country inn , very friendly owners made us feel welcome , nice food excellent service in resturant, staff attentive and helpful

Breakfast was disappointing , it was set up in the bedroom , fruit looked a bit past its sell by,croissant’s were rubbery and obviously cold , meat offered was processed ,away with friends so unable to have breakfast together people need to be aware of this before they book I probably didn’t look!

An unusual mix of old and new. Superb shower. Spacious room with all of the usual facilities. Comfortable bed. Rural village location. Quiet - once the pub closed. Good pub food. Large range of beers.

We had a key to get in via a side door if we returned after the pub had closed. We were told the lock "is a bit fiddly". We DID return after the pub had closed and it took several minutes of fiddling to open the door. During this time I called the phone number on the booking confirmation which went unanswered. We did mange to open the door after some more fiddling but it's not ideal. I would strongly recommend that if guests think they will be returning to the property late, that they give the side door lock a trial run beforehand.

Friendly staff. Very nice food in the evening The room was very nice with a full fridge of breakfast items ect. The bed was clean and comfortable.

I think our room was above the kitchen so we heard a constant humming noise. Luckily it stopped around 9/10pm The toilet seat did not fit the loo! So a little awkward for us ladies.

We do like this place, well situated just off ring road, an appealing village nearly swallowed up by a retail park. Traditional pub with excellent ale and continental style breakfast to eat when you want. This time,totally unplanned, we found a beer festival on too with a live band. In fact we so enjoy this place that we detour to stop here as this year was not really on our route

Nothing not to like, one consequence of the beer festival was the usual excellent menu was curtailed to cope with the greater numbers and higher turnover of space needed

Beautiful pub. Great location, and great food. Breakfast is supplied in you room and is more than enough, continental style breakfast. Easy to get to Milton Park if you are working there.

The room is very expensive for what it is. £117 for a room in a pub and for what you get this is very high. I would see this as a £75 room as you do get breakfast included.
