Liked the location and distance walkable to town. Restaurants convenient nearby. Choice of breakfast good. Room nice and clean some things needed fixing better door handle not fixed properly and few signs wear and table on bathroom shower fitting and mastic. Didn’t like that I could hear ladies talking other side of interconnecting room as we’d not ask for this but might be the only one with the kitchenette. But other than this comfortable

Parking was arranged but expensive and it’s just off the pavement side on to the property and only 3 of these spaces.

The room is well appointed and had lovely amenities such as heated tiles in the washroom and a heated towel rack. It had a little kitchenette area with a microwave, sink, kettle, dishes and cutlery. The bed was comfy. There were skylight windows that could be opened to let in a breeze which was perfect. The neighborhoods is quiet, and close enough to walk to the town centre. The breakfast selection was quite good, with yogurt, fruit, cereal, pastries, toast, meats and cheese, coffee, tea and orange juice. You could also order a hot breakfast at an additional cost. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Everything was perfect!

We stayed 2 nights at Ethos and got two interconnected rooms as a family of 4. We originally booked the apartment, but the hotel called to let me know that this was undergoing some refurbishment and would we be ok with the interconnected rooms. Of course this was fine and in fact, I suspect we ended up with an upgrade as the rooms were beautiful. We had our dog with us and staff were really kind about everything. The area is beautiful, very chilled out yet really close walking distance from the centre of Oxford, some lovely pubs and cafes and the green belt. Breakfast was included and really nice, the rooms also had a very comprehensive selection of tea and coffee, fridges and even a microwave oven. I would definitely stay at Ethos again and recommend it for a family visiting the city. Thanks so much, Ethos Hotel, you made our stay special.

Only a minor negative point to mention, the AC seemed to be on a program so it went on by itself at 7 am. I'm not a fan of AC for health reasons, so having to jump out of bed to manually switch it off wasn't the best, but we were getting up not too soon after anyway.

Easy, friendly, fast checkin and checkout. It’s a wonderful location on a long, quiet street of 2-story row houses. The immediate neighborhood is fun to walk in but you are just minutes away from Christ Church and on into central Oxford. You are a block away from the Thames Towing Path, too, which is nice. The included breakfast was excellent; you select the hot breakfast you want, plus a continental buffet selection as well. I also like that there is a security hasp on the door so service staff can’t/won’t come in unexpectedly should you be sleeping late or early due to jet lag.

The only small disappointment was being in a more recently constructed annex rather than the old Victorian-looking main part of the hotel. I suppose a person could make a request upon booking but I didn’t even know there was a newer part.

Stayed for a week…, The staff is amazing .. Bushra was very friendly and helped in getting an early checkin and a late check out. All other staff were friendly Anna, David and Julie and they were all very helpful. The cafe food is great, tried the pizza, pasta and was amazing. The rooms are quite compact with a fridge, microwave and cutlery, so it’s really convenient. Spacious and well lit bathroom The location is great and about a 15 min walk to the city centre, 10 mins to tesco express

Nothing not to like

Great central location, staff very friendly and efficient. Snacks and water a very good idea. Breakfasts tasty and plentiful.

Room 220 needs a rethink. Kitchenette far too big - cupboards above and below take up too much space and don’t get used. Carpet in room needs replacing as it doesn’t fit and needs cleaning. Stairs to room make way too much noise and area is grubby. No space for suitcase and remove the office chair in the corner - not needed. The cafe is a bit cramped and is not great for dinner with people coming to collect suitcases and raising issues with staff when other residents are trying to dine.

I recently stayed at the Ethos Hotel with my mum and two daughters, and it truly felt like a home away from home. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail made us feel incredibly well taken care of. The breakfast spread offered a wide range of choices to suit everyone’s tastes, and the lunch options were equally extensive. Everything we tried was absolutely scrumptious! Plus, the hotel’s location is fantastic—it’s an easy walk to the city center, making our sightseeing plans a breeze. We’ll definitely be returning to the Ethos Hotel on our next visit. It was, hands down, the best customer service experience we’ve had in a long time!

We had the two bedroom apartment, it had everything we needed. The cafe with breakfast and wine and free snacks in the evening was nearby and suited us well. The rooms were great, just what we needed for a business stay.

We had an issue with the plumbing in the sink in the bathroom, we put the plug in to fill the sink and it wouldn't release, so we couldn't use the sink for the last 2 days. The staff did not come in and clean the room or make the beds in the 5 days either, that would have been good if they did as they would have noticed the issue with the sink. The heating was a bit too high as well, it was hot to sleep at night.

The room was really nice for our few nights in Oxford. The room even had a little kitchenette and microwave. Spacious room and nice bathroom. The staff were so lovely. The Polish lady was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Some expensive hotels could learn a lot from her about customer care. The younger lady serving in the evening was also a delight. Food was really good quality and huge portions. The cafe was decorated ready for Halloween. I left my runner's Garmin watch in the room and they phoned me shortly after when the cleaner found it and got it back to me really quickly.

I didn't realise there was going to be a gratuity added - 3 lots of £14.72 - at the end of the stay and we had thought when selecting the cook breakfast after paying for the buffet breakfast when booking that we would be charged the difference not the full £13 but to be honest everything was so good we didn't really mind.

Lovely independent hotel in quiet residential area a pleasant 15 min walk to centre. Great staff, good breakfast included. Room was clean and well appointed with own door to street. The cafe/bar part of the hotel (across street) was very nice. Last minute stop over on a road trip and we good a good rate. Would recommend and will be back if in Oxford again

Be aware no car park and on street parking is resident permits only. Was a warm night and AC was struggling. Else pretty much perfect
