The room is well appointed and had lovely amenities such as heated tiles in the washroom and a heated towel rack. It had a little kitchenette area with a microwave, sink, kettle, dishes and cutlery. The bed was comfy. There were skylight windows that could be opened to let in a breeze which was perfect. The neighborhoods is quiet, and close enough to walk to the town centre. The breakfast selection was quite good, with yogurt, fruit, cereal, pastries, toast, meats and cheese, coffee, tea and orange juice. You could also order a hot breakfast at an additional cost. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Easy, friendly, fast checkin and checkout. It’s a wonderful location on a long, quiet street of 2-story row houses. The immediate neighborhood is fun to walk in but you are just minutes away from Christ Church and on into central Oxford. You are a block away from the Thames Towing Path, too, which is nice. The included breakfast was excellent; you select the hot breakfast you want, plus a continental buffet selection as well. I also like that there is a security hasp on the door so service staff can’t/won’t come in unexpectedly should you be sleeping late or early due to jet lag.

The only small disappointment was being in a more recently constructed annex rather than the old Victorian-looking main part of the hotel. I suppose a person could make a request upon booking but I didn’t even know there was a newer part.

Stayed for a week…, The staff is amazing .. Bushra was very friendly and helped in getting an early checkin and a late check out. All other staff were friendly Anna, David and Julie and they were all very helpful. The cafe food is great, tried the pizza, pasta and was amazing. The rooms are quite compact with a fridge, microwave and cutlery, so it’s really convenient. Spacious and well lit bathroom The location is great and about a 15 min walk to the city centre, 10 mins to tesco express

Nothing not to like

Great central location, staff very friendly and efficient. Snacks and water a very good idea. Breakfasts tasty and plentiful.

Room 220 needs a rethink. Kitchenette far too big - cupboards above and below take up too much space and don’t get used. Carpet in room needs replacing as it doesn’t fit and needs cleaning. Stairs to room make way too much noise and area is grubby. No space for suitcase and remove the office chair in the corner - not needed. The cafe is a bit cramped and is not great for dinner with people coming to collect suitcases and raising issues with staff when other residents are trying to dine.

I recently stayed at the Ethos Hotel with my mum and two daughters, and it truly felt like a home away from home. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail made us feel incredibly well taken care of. The breakfast spread offered a wide range of choices to suit everyone’s tastes, and the lunch options were equally extensive. Everything we tried was absolutely scrumptious! Plus, the hotel’s location is fantastic—it’s an easy walk to the city center, making our sightseeing plans a breeze. We’ll definitely be returning to the Ethos Hotel on our next visit. It was, hands down, the best customer service experience we’ve had in a long time!

We had the two bedroom apartment, it had everything we needed. The cafe with breakfast and wine and free snacks in the evening was nearby and suited us well. The rooms were great, just what we needed for a business stay.

We had an issue with the plumbing in the sink in the bathroom, we put the plug in to fill the sink and it wouldn't release, so we couldn't use the sink for the last 2 days. The staff did not come in and clean the room or make the beds in the 5 days either, that would have been good if they did as they would have noticed the issue with the sink. The heating was a bit too high as well, it was hot to sleep at night.

The room was really nice for our few nights in Oxford. The room even had a little kitchenette and microwave. Spacious room and nice bathroom. The staff were so lovely. The Polish lady was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Some expensive hotels could learn a lot from her about customer care. The younger lady serving in the evening was also a delight. Food was really good quality and huge portions. The cafe was decorated ready for Halloween. I left my runner's Garmin watch in the room and they phoned me shortly after when the cleaner found it and got it back to me really quickly.

I didn't realise there was going to be a gratuity added - 3 lots of £14.72 - at the end of the stay and we had thought when selecting the cook breakfast after paying for the buffet breakfast when booking that we would be charged the difference not the full £13 but to be honest everything was so good we didn't really mind.

This hotel was great. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The food was plentiful, be it breakfast or evening meals. We don’t try the lounge, but the cafe was a lovely, bright space. Booking the parking was very worthwhile. There would have been no street space, and though it seems expensive at first glance, you actually do get cafe credit, this makes it very affordable. The location was excellent, with quick foot access to town and the tow path.

The staff were wonderful and the breakfast was much better than expected! The room and bathroom were clean. It was also easy for taxis to find the location and only 5-10 min drive away from most venues within Oxford city!

The room was a bit cold despite the heating being on as high as possible. I was grateful for the electric heater that the hotel staff had provided, however it was a bit difficult to get comfortable at night due to the chill but the night was also very cold so I don't think this would be a problem in spring/summer.

good locaton. a smallish hotel I think converted from a large old house in a quiet, residential area so not your normal chain hotel which we liked. The room was Ok++, there was a cafe/bar/reception type arrangement which served food till late and the breakfast in the morning.

Was not happy paying £29.00 for parking, although this included a £20.00 voucher to spend in the bar area. For us the bedding was a bit odd, sort of blanket arrangement without a sheet, unless we missed it, would have preferred a standard duvet.
