Rooms were very clean and comfortable, excellent bathroom/shower facilities. Lots of TV channels, comfy beds, great tea & coffee facilities, complementary bottles of water, lovely biscuits. Room was very quiet, couldn't hear any outside noise despite hotel being in centre of city. Dyson fan provided.

Only one key provided for the room and there were two of us, and key is required to get in front door of hotel as well as the room, so it meant we either had to return to the hotel together or one let the other in. Not a big deal but would have been nice to have a key each.

The Vicarage Suite was excellent, with super facilities including a wonderful bathroom and private garden. The welcome from the staff was excellent.

Despite the suite being very spacious, hanging space for clothes was limited. Fortunately, we were only there for the weekend. Also, we would say that for visitors arriving by car and unfamiliar with Oxford, access to the hotel could be challenging. We were fortunate to know the city, could navigate the charges for the low emission zone and arrange private parking, once we had dropped off our bags.

This is a very well run establishment with friendly staff. Exceptionally well appointed room with all kinds of handy things about the room such as ironing boards and irons. Ultra-clean and very comfortable. Quiet location despite being very central. Our room (6, the Nicholas Hawksmoor Room) was on the back of the house and that certainly helped in this regard. You can either go to the breakfast room or have your breakfast brought to you in the room in what looked like a picnic hamper, ordering it the previous evening from a list that you leave hanging on the door. Excellent shower.

Nothing to really dislike, although my partner could have done with a firmer pillow. There could be more things to choose from on the breakfast list, but this is nit picking.

The location is great, it’s quiet, the view is lovely and the amenities are great and the bed was very comfortable.

No A/C, the room was incredibly hot and the fan did not have a remote so could only be switched on and off with very limited control over the temperature. The TV is huge and honestly ruins the space - I’d have preferred not to have one at all. The shower knob was very difficult to operate with wet hand and there was no actual cold water so I couldn’t cool myself down.

An older but beautifully kept hotel with loads of charm. Very clean. GREAT location. Lots of plugs and usb ports available. Staff was amazing from checkin to cleaning to checkout. Very willing to hold our luggage for us - both on arrival and the day we left. Supplies in room refreshed every day - including water, tea, cookies and towels. Our room faced the street with a lively student union across from us. It was not a problem. We still left our windows open but ran some white noise on our phones and slept like babies.

We asked if they would consider installing a hook or two in the bathroom for robe or pjs. Staff made a note. Bed was very firm (rm 12)so after the first night I made some layers to sleep on top of. Bear in mind if you go during hot season there is no AC - but a small fan is provided.

They asked you to fill out a breakfast card each evening so they knew what to have on hand in the common breakfast room in the morning. They provided cereals, yogurts, rolls, breads, meats and cheese. Only one type of fruit was offered during the three days we were there. We had plenty to eat and were very happy. Staff were very helpful and always available. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Location was fabulous!

Maybe a bit more fresh fruit for breakfast.

The hotel was beautiful and very clean. The location was perfect for us as we were going to the theatre. Our room was stunning and comfortable

It's only a small thing but we thought the breakfast was a little disappointing (cereal, toast and Yoghurt etc) for the money we paid i thought we'd have something cooked. We would definitely stay again but not choose the breakfast option and eat out. That was our only issue as we did pay alot to stay for one night. Otherwise it was amazing.

Perfect location. Warm, attractive and comfortable room. I really liked that the curtains were draught proof and the room was also pitch dark, no light at all, which was great. Was the room sound proofed? Because I heard nothing from anywhere except the corridor and it was an incredibly quiet hotel. Staff were very friendly competent and helpful. I would stay in this hotel if I visit Oxford again.

It was a very quiet hotel and the only thing I can think of that I would have different would be a soft close toilet seat.

Breakfast is served to your room in a hamper which is excellent. Cereal, meat, cheese and breads as well as fruit juice and coffee. Yummy. It is so easy to walk anywhere from the hotel and all the shops and many colleges are right on the doorstep.

No lift but at least the staff were very obliging helping us with our cases. St Michael’s Road is part of the Oxford Zero Emissions location so taxis have to pay a fee to pick up there. There are no Ubers in Oxford but that is the same for every Hotel!

Great location and friendly staff! I absolutely recommend this hotel. Lovely little breakfast in your room as well. The rooms were nice.

The rooms could be cleaned a bit better by a person with an eye for details. Quite sloppy in some places with dust and dirt. Therese was also a stain on the duvet cover, you could tell that it been washed but still not nice to see. Light sleepers should be aware of the surrounding streets that are quite noisy from bar goers and garbage trucks.
