Great location, modern amenities, comfortable beds! Room included some extras, which were appreciated. Helpful when needing service.
Well, our room was last room hall on first floor. Heard swooshing and wind noises all night under the door every time hallway doors opened and closed. Carpets smelled like glue (new carpet?), sink was clogged (they took care of it), housekeeping gave us towels with long hairs and forgot to replenish some items. Lack of some service not worth the very high price.

There isn’t one bad thing to say, it is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at worldwide. The staff were so helpful and kind . The hotel porter especially stood out for me , he was just perfect .

It was my daughter’s wedding and lots of guests stayed for 2 nights, some just the 1 night. We spent the evening before the wedding at the hotel and 20+ of us spent a considerable amount of money in the restaurant and on the roof terrace. Matthew was extremely rude to myself and our guests. I did tell him on the night! It did put a real low on what should’ve been one of the best nights of my daughter’s life. On her wedding day, we had a break from wedding breakfast to the evening reception, so again 30+ of us returned to the hotel to have some drinks, unfortunately we had the same experience where a staff member addressed the bride about the volume of people in the way! To say we were disappointed in the staff is an understatement. The hotel is stunning, the rooms were beautiful, but sadly it would not be somewhere I would chose to spend lots of money to stay again.

The location was very central. Rooms were spacious, and we slept really well. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, nor did we have time to use the spa, so can't comment. Staff was very friendly and helpful, even late in the evening, and with advice on what to do in the City.
Central location means there is nowhere to park at the hotel itself, even a quick drop off is difficult, and be aware of the many pedestrianised areas of Oxford. Our room was largely clean with a little issue on one of our pillows (although there were so many, it didn't spoil the stay).

Location is fantastic, not so far from train station. Definitely walkable even with luggages. Just in front of christmas market and near to eateries, grocery stores and all the attractions. Early checkin is a plus point too. Room furnitures are sleek, bathroom modern and clean. Coffee machine, artisan tea bags, free chocolate and drinks in the chiller.
Smaller than expected, bit pricey, staff tried to go into the room without knocking and stains on sheets. About the staff, we just checked in and was told by reception to let them know when to prepare the sofa bed and I said yes. I was changing my clothes in the bathroom when i heard the room door opening, but because our luggage was blocking the door, the staff couldn’t go in. I was surprised that he didn’t knock at all. Regarding the stain, not sure what it was but it was red. So we asked reception to change the sheets and the staff came swiftly to change the sheets even though it was night time. The next day we also noticed on the other bed (sofa bed), also have some stains but we don’t bother to ask for replacement anymore as we were all tired from our walk.

Wonderfully scented hotel, very new and modern, loved the style. Extremely comfortable quiet room. Was upgraded to one with a roof balcony and wonderful view- highly recommend! Nice with complimentary soft drinks and sweets in the room. Staff in reception were great. Gym was small but all you need. Perfect central location.
The breakfast staff didn’t feel quite as efficient and the breakfast lacked the taste and standard I would expect for this caliber of hotel Small suggestions: more oumph with Turkish eggs, expand the buffet with some salad vegetables and some great sourdough bread. Finally a tiny niggle but an envelope was pushed under my room door at 530am waking me up with the sound like someone was in the room! Leave notes hanging on outside of door or drop off during waking hours!

The decor and interior, the location
The fact that at 10pm on a Friday evening we were told it was last orders for cocktails. Also at breakfast I ordered my breakfast (not the continental with unlimited drinks) and a coffee with hot milk but then my breakfast arrived and we had not received our drinks. In querying this I was told drinks were self service which was not explained when I ordered them. I feel when you are paying over £300 a night you should not have to get your own coffee at breakfast. Valet parking which be a great addition to the hotel as well with the distance to the car parks.

We liked the very central location. The staff were excellent and keen to ensure our comfort. Breakfasts were good, once one had negotiated (or ignored) the 'clever' menu. The room was comfortable, once the bedding problem stated below was sorted.
We had an issue with bed-clothes. I made a request for the bed to made up with sheets and blankets in the English traditional way, and a reply came to say that this would be granted, but on arrival we found only the usual duvet, and it turned out that the hotel didn't actually have any blankets, and some of the staff didn't know what a blanket was. As stated above, the staff tried very hard to ensure our comfort and the problem was solved by the next day; it's just that we arrived late at night, reeady to sleep, and it took a long time to get sorted out. There was hardly any shelving or wardrobe space, and no bed-side cabinets. The washbasin was of a misguidedly modern design with no plug. The breakfast menu.

Perfect location for the theatre and central Oxford, only a short walk from the station too but still lovely and quiet. Loved the decor, the staff couldn’t do enough for us - very friendly and welcoming. Comfy bed and nice freebies. Excellent breakfast.
Only minor issues, far outweighed by the positives! The room was too hot for us. Managed to turn down the heat and then turn off the air con - it’s a shame we couldn’t just open a window for some air. Also, we couldn’t hear every step of the person in the room above, probably due to the lovely (but noisy) wooden floors.

The Store is the most important addition to Oxford’s hotel scene in decades, since the Old Bank opened. And whilst the Old Bank is smart and comfortable, it’s often over-priced and has no public space (lounge etc.) for guests. The Store is elegant, contemporary and has a spacious and comfortable lounge. Service is outstanding and the location central.
Like all the very best hotels, The Store turned something that I didn’t like to advantage. When no cake or anything similar could be served in the afternoon with my Earl Grey—a state of affairs which will be changed soon—the manager raided the kitchen and returned with some fruit and a brownie, on the house. This is hospitality.
