We initially were shown to a room out the back which reminded me of motels you see on tv. It was small, dark and had a tiny bed. It wasn't anything like the look of what we booked. However, for some reason the receptionist came back and said she needed to move us. Thankfully, the room we were moved to was in the main house which was beautiful. The bed was large and very comfy, the room was a good size. The bathroom was very clean and good power for the shower. My only complaint was the wonky toilet seat. But since it was one night we didn't say anything. Would stay again when we're in the area but certainly ensure we are booked for a room in the main house and not the dingy annex out the back.

Nice quiet traditional English country hotel in a good location for travel connections to London. Room and en suite spotless, comfortable bed with windows that opened. Of especial note were clean and peaceful garden terrace and neat and spacious and peaceful gardens, much appreciated on a warm summer evening, together with large and easily negotiated car park with shading trees. Also a clean, quiet, and reasonably priced hotel bar, and polite and helpful reception/bar service/staff member, Alex, from Macedonia. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend the establishment to anyone.

When I arrived I realized I should have asked for a room with separate shower (not shower over bath) and no or not too many stairs. The room I had been allocated did not fit this criteria so the receptionist/Duty Manager (Alexandra) changed my room to a ground floor annexe room which had a bath and separate shower and she even carried my case for me. It was spacious, clean and very quiet and I got a great night's sleep. Nice evening meal in the restaurant.

Disappointingly, the chef was on holiday therefore no breakfast was available, not even continental. Alexandra recommended the farm shop cafe a few metres down the road but when I went there I discovered they had closed the cafe part during covid and had not re-opened. Bought a pastry instead which I ate in the car but not ideal!

There is loads of parking and the members of staff we encountered couldn't have been more helpful. We were checked in quickly and our room was spotless, warm and comfortable. We had dinner in Rasoi, their on site Indian restaurant and although the menu was fairly limited, the food was absolutely lovely.

If pushed I would say husband wasn't very impressed with his pint of Stella in the bar and some areas of the property looked a bit tired but that really is nit picking because when we are in the area again, we will be back like a shot!

Very easy check-in, and we were kindly let in a little while before the official check-in as we arrived early. A lovely room, looking out onto gardens behind the hotel, and very quiet. Super comfortable bed, big bathroom and great shower. We had a delicious breakfast the next morning, with good strong coffee which is hard to find these days! We were very impressed by how friendly and helpful all of the staff were, they went way and beyond, to make sure we had a lovely stay. Thank you all very much.

The only tiny problem we had, was that it took a bit of fiddling to make our key-card work, but it was probably just our inexperience at using one!

We had a function at this venue on Saturday 31st August 2024. ‘It was our 30th Wedding Anniversary.’ We had the best day celebrating with all our family and friends, the Hotel staff were so accommodating in every way! Alex made sure we had everything we needed. Our room was Beautiful, it was upgraded, which was such a lovely surprise 🤩 Breakfast delicious! Thank you for making our celebration so perfect !!

Alexandra was amazing! Such a lovely bubbly warm welcome - she made the experience! Breakfast was amazing! The hotel decor is gorgeous. Everything is neat and tidy and clean. I would have like to have tried the restaurant as it looks lovely.

The bedroom is very pretty and I feel lucky to have had one of the big special rooms. I observed however that although the linen was fresh and comfi, the pillows, duvet and mattress are past their best and unfortunately that combination gave me a disturbed and uncomfortable nights sleep. I would have appreciated a waffle robe and toiletries for a room at this price of this nature advertising 'luxury'. I had assumed and hadnt brought these items and it may not have been this way but it felt like the soaps left by the shower were left behind by mistake by a previous guest. They didnt look intentional.

We stayed the night after trick festival & couldn’t believe it wasn’t more busy, lovely building, no complaints about the room. We had Indian food whilst there, we were the only people there which I thought was a shame however staff were really lovely and attentive.

When we arrived there wasn’t anyone present, I had to knock on the door of the chef & ask when someone will be arriving so we could check in. A lovely lady arrived later & was very welcoming, it was a bit strange but also liked feeling as if we were the only guests.

Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful including supporting us with a late dinner reservation. Rooms and the whole hotel was really clean. Our evening meal was excellent - really high quality Indian food offering something out of the ordinary.

The only thing - but we did expect it - was the road noise which is quite noticeable from a ground floor room. But we were aware before booking that the hotel is on a busy road. Access to the A34 and to Oxford (via park and ride) was excellent and more than made up for this.

I was busy at a wedding on the day but they were helpful with accommodating check-in. My partner has mobility difficulties so they were also great with accommodating breakfast (they let me take it up to the room and sorted a tray and everything for me!) The staff were all very nice.

The door into our room was a bit stiff, but not the end of the world.
