The accommodation was excellent. An upstairs room in a separate semi - detached building with its own exterior entrance. The room is spacious, tastefully furnished and equipped and the adjoining bathroom is large, with modern bathroom furniture. The large shower is particularly good. The room was warm when the heating was on ( but see below !). The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful; and we had a particularly warm welcome from our landlord in the bar in the evening. We very much enjoyed the lively Friday bar night! Good beer; and a good breakfast in the morning. A really good overnight stay in a pub easy to reach from M4 motorway.

The bed coverings. Although tastefully decorated, they were too thin and inadequate for a cold night. This upstairs room with an open top staircase leading directly into the bedroom itself means that in cold weather it is cold at night once the central heating goes off. We were so cold in bed as not to sleep properly and to have to get up in the night and put on some outdoors clothes ( jumpers and socks!). We would recommend providing duvets.

It's just so relaxing & friendly. Come & go as you please & the breakfast is so good We at lunch & evening dinner & had no complaints about the food, sunday roast was awesome.

There was nothing we didn't like, very minor suggestion for the "assessable room" the shower over the bath needs a hand rail to help pull yourself into the bath & to steady yourself when getting out. Otherwise all good.

Last year 2022 I attended a gig at the Arlington Arts Centre and I stayed at Ye old Red Lion. I was very pleased there, so when I got tickets to attend the same venue this year, I wanted to stay in ye old red Lion. They even put me in the same room which was comfortable and had a shower that pinned you against the wall! the food is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.

Nothing to complain about.

The food at the Red Lion is incredible, the chef is exceptional and the high quality of products used means the breakfast and dinner is always great. Rooms are clean and well kept and the beds are comfortable. It is nice and quiet so a good nights sleep is assured.

Hair dryer not working.

The staff were all lovely and keen to make us feel very welcome. All the meals were very good, including the various breakfasts that we had over the course of three days. Nice beer in the bar and a very cosy feel in general.

The mattress on the bed needs replacing!

The rooms were warm & comfortable, the staff were very welcoming & accommodating. Breakfast was lovely. We ate in the pub both evenings & would highly recommend.

2 small niggles but the TV volume not working in one of the rooms (merely for noise rather than actually watching) & room Internet non existent.

The overall service and the accommodation itself were unreproachable. the staff was extremely courteous and helpful and the lunch meal we had prior to our checking in was fantastic. the room, which was a separated dwelling from the pub itself, was very charming, clean and well presented. overall aesthetic was fantastic. for for those reasons we would gladly stay again.

Although the room was beautiful and well presented the bed itself was extremely hard. Hard enough that both my wife and I woke several time during the night forced to turn over, as our arms had become painful or fallen asleep. (both of us sleep on our sides). we discussed the sleeping situation with the host in the morning and were informed that other rooms had softer beds and to request a room with a softer bed if we would like to return in the future.

See below for breakfast, overall, we really loved staying here, Killiecrankie is a lovely rustic place & the venue is in such a beautiful village, the ideal base from which to visit the Newbury area, the staff were nice enough, we would come again! Thank you very much!

Breakfast & meals were a little limited, no cereals, a "selection of spreads" was 2 little pots, few veggie options - though the host was prepared to do scrambled eggs on toast, which were unfortunately slightly undercooked, as were the sausages, one tea bag in a biggish pot. There are ants in the Bathroom. However, these are minor gripes which can be corrected

Large room. Quiet even though next to the pub. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent! Quality ingredients, cooked perfectly to my liking. Great tradition old pub.

The heavy brass keyring for room key!!

The room was lovely and excellent but lucky the weather was so hot and humid evening that is prefect but I love this place. I have a feeling that if I stayed at the same room during the winter time it would be worse because the door is in the front of car park but this room is suitable for the summer season only.

I was disappointed with a waiter when I had my evening meal as she does not checked with me if i need ketchup or salt as I wanted that and also she did not asked me if i want the dessert ...this waiter needs to prompt to consider other people who waiting for or check to have everything on the tables.
