Not 100% fully accessible - quite a variation in levels between areas, in corridors and reception. Not always with handrails. Slope between reception and restaurant steep. Lift to bar not working. Disabled toilet available and clean. Would have preferred mugs rather than cup and saucer. Don’t like self service breakfast particularly for basic tea/coffee and toast. Very expensive morning coffee.

The breakfast was poor. We were not shown to a table and it would have been nice to have been served tea or coffee. As it was, were left to find our own way around the breakfast bar. The scrambled egg and bacon looked palatable but both were cold by the time we returned to the table not helped by a cold plate. The bacon was congealed and quite unpleasant. I would have expected much better . The atmosphere in the breakfast area could be improved by welcoming and friendly staff, tea and coffee served and hot plates. Why not have eggs cooked to order? It might liven the place up a bit.

We did like our reception on arrival and the room was good.

Great- Everything was lovely about the hotel the only down fall was on the first night I could hear everything from the adjoining rooms. The guests in those rooms were so loud one was having a conversation at 5:30am and I could hear everything. The banging around their room I couldn’t understand because looking at my room I couldn’t understand how they could be that loud. The plus side was I mentioned it in passing when ordering lunch and the lady I spoke with went to the guest support person and she came to speak to us to apologise. Even though I know it wasn’t the hotel’s fault I appreciated that they cared. The second night was fab as the noisy guests left and the spa is fantastic!!

Spotlessly clean and a very comfy bed. Good food and friendly service.

Only two things but both quite fundamental. WiFi not working in bed room (fine if you open the door and stand in the corridor!) and only 3G so can’t loop into phone. And bathroom floor super slippy when wet, I nearly fell over but managed to right myself. But for someone older or less sure on their feet it could be pretty calamitous. I did report both of these to reception but not sure they were noted beyond a polite apology.

Rooms were clean and comfy. Facilities were excellent. Spa area was excellent, clean and fresh. Staff very informative and attentive, sometimes too attentive! Didn't eat in the evening in the main restaurant as there was a big function so relegated to small dining room. Beautiful flowers and Christmas decorations. Breakfast was self service, all freshly prepared, nothing outstanding

That by booking through 'Booking.com' we couldn't put meals and drinks on the tab and pay at check-out. Should have been told this at the outset. Frustrating to have to carry payment methods around. Meals, snacks and drinks I felt to be overpriced. The small dining room was in need of maintenance - curtains/blinds not closing, stains on ceiling tiles, corners of wall paper turning up but the staff made every effort to make the room feel Christmassy. Despite all the best efforts from the staff, definitely got the feeling that because of the big event in the main dining room, we were not as important or valued.

Excellent stay, brought back so precious memories. Special thanks to Tracey for the welcome note, Lizzy for the lovely compassionate welcome at reception, , Sarah for the awesome massage, football look out this week.🙂 Also shout out to Chris and everyone in the restaurant and all the great spa staff. Thank you so much everyone. I will be back.

Not being able to stay longer

Swimming pool and spa areas were lovely. Good effort was made to provide vegan food for us at the event that we attended even though they forgot non dairy milk for tea and coffee. Appreciated the food though.. The room was comfortable with air conditioning

Hotel was a little bit dated. Cleanliness wasn't the best. There was a foot print on my pillow and some areas need a good dusting, not just in our room but downstairs toilets. Limited vegan options in the restaurant so went elsewhere to eat. Rooms a bit expensive

We stayed at the hotel twice recently and both times the staff were extremely helpful. We used the swimming pool and gym facilities, both of which are excellent - a decent-sized, 18m pool and very well equipped gym and yoga studio. Our room on both occasions was lovely - very large and with a very comfortable bed. We had dinner in the restaurant on both nights and the food was also excellent and reasonable value for money.

On our second stay, we were initially given a room in the older part of the hotel which was nowhere near the quality of the room in the newer part of the hotel and was next to the plant room which was extremely noisy. That would have been ok if the price had reflected the difference in room quality, but it didn't and, in fact, the lower quality room was significantly more expensive than the superior room that we had had the previous week. However, once we had asked Reception whether there was anything that they could do, they were brilliant and managed to find us another room in the newer part of the hotel despite the fact that the hotel that night was extremely busy - fantastic service from the reception team, thank you.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, I stayed alone and they made me feel very welcomed! The food was also superb! Every meal I had was amazing!!

My only critique is that on the day of checking out, my room was knocked on twice by housekeeping, of course this is their job, but I was getting showered and ready at the time which could have been slightly awkward. I wonder if there is a way for the housekeeping staff to know who is checking out on which day so that residents aren’t disturbed until they need to leave the room. Very minor point though, cannot fault the stay otherwise!

Quiet and comfortable accommodation. Super tasty breakfast. Kettle and fridge in the room with complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits with a pint of milk in the fridge which was great and much better than the little long life pots you normally get. We were there for a birthday party and if you want a venue with a super party room and fabulous party food then this venue is perfect.

The air conditioning wasn’t working in our room on one of the hottest days of the year. Fortunately reception found a large fan for the room which made sleeping more bearable.
