The pub is a typical country pub in a small quaint village, the breakfast was lovely and included in the price, Leanne was very accomodating and a lovely person she made our stay :-))

The room was advertised as deluxe but sadly it wasnt :-( the bed was a VERY small double I dont mind being that close to my hubbie, but some might, there was mould on the ensuite ceiling and the shower was NOT a power shower ! Our room No 3 had a problem with the heater, basically it didnt work so our 1st night we were very cold. We reported the problem the next morning and came back that evening to an electric heater which made the room toastie :-))

The location is within the beautiful Benson village which is easily accessible by the X40 bus from Oxford city centre. It's about a 10 minute direct walk from the bus stop down the quaint country lane and small high street. The pub is very easy to find and you are welcomed immediately by a lovely roaring fire and friendly staff. Check in is personal and easy at the bar before up the stairs to all the rooms - all rooms are up stairs for any accessibility need checks. The room itself is decorated well and has a lovely bed, hanging space and desk/chair. I had my own bathroom with shower cubicle and fluffy towels. The water pressure and heat were spot on. Wifi was excellent and I had a couple of zoom meetings while I was there with absolutely no issues at all. Oh and it was a lovely surprise that there is a small guest breakfast included each morning - a nice touch! Overall, a really enjoyable, cosy stay - I would definitely recommend!

Only a couple of minor points which didn't detract from my lovely stay. My mattress had seen better days and could benefit from a flip or a new one if any 2025 updates are coming - It wasn't a big enough issue for me to mention during my stay and I still had a great night. Something to bear in mind as the rooms are set in a lovely old building above a pub so a quiet night is very much dependent on the other guests and pub occupants as the walls are as thin as would be expected from a building that old.

The pub was lovely, was a bit gutted we didn't have time to stay for the food as it smelled lovely. The room was very cute, we stayed in room 3. There's plenty of floor space and it was warm/cosy. I was worried about the amount of parking but we arrived back in the night and there was ample parking. Was so nice and the price was amazing! There staff were super nice and welcoming and would love to come back and stay again

The shower tray was filling up whilst in use so had to pause between washes. A staff member came up thinking we'd left the shower on as there was water leaking through the ceiling into the pub! It was definitely just unfortunate it happened whilst we were there and I hope it was all sorted <3

Exceptional stay with outstanding service and cuisine! The pub food truly remarkable My room exceeded expectations, providing comfort and elegance in equal measure. The staff's dedication to guest satisfaction was evident throughout my visit, with special mention to Leanne, who provided exemplary service during breakfast. Her warm demeanor and attentiveness made my mornings a delight. Overall, this establishment deserves nothing less than a perfect 10 out of 10 for its superb accommodation, Fantastic food, and top-notch hospitality. Ryan :)

After 37 hours of travel from Australia with friends we arrived at The Crown Inn to be met with a warm smile and a roaring fire . After a quick check in , we sat in front of the fire with a drink . Perfect after such long journey. We dined at the restaurant which was great. The rooms were comfortable and had everything we could need. Parking on site. The highlight was the staff both in the evening and in the morning. Thanks for such a warm welcome. Being within an hour from Heathrow it was the perfect stop over. Will definitely stay again next trip.

Friendly staff. Comfortable room. I liked that there was a large bottle of spring water in the room. Good location for our purposes.

The breakfast let the whole experience down. We would rather pay a little more for the room as opposed to a big charge on a decent size breakfast. We came to the breakfast room mid way through service. There was no orange juice left, very little bread in the basket, two small boxes of ‘rice crispies’ on the main table. The English Breakfast included in the room rate, despite being quite good quality, was very small. We were shocked that there was an additional charge for the tea and a half cup of coffee we consumed with our breakfast. A disappointing end to our stay. We would certainly stay again if breakfast was improved.

We didn't expect the complimentary small english breakfast to be included in the room rate as well as the continental breakfast, which was a welcome surprise. Staff were very polite and helpful.

As it was very warm and having to have the window open for air, our particular room lacked privacy as it overlooked the car park and outside seating area - maybe a net curtain or additional blind would have helped. Apart from this minor observation, everything else was spot on.

Attentive and pleasant staff. Good size room. Adequate bathroom. Everything clean and tidy. Cafetiere and coffee etc (but no milk). Good restaurant and bar. Adequate breakfast.

No air conditioning. As it was in the middle of a heatwave, it was very uncomfortable. As it is a pub there was some noise from people outside so opening the window was not an option. It is a pub so such noise, while not excessive, is to be expected. Otherwise it was very peaceful.

The pub was lovely with two real fires which we sat around the one after our evening meal. All the staff although were young were welcoming and cheerful. The food was really good as was the service. Our room was warm, cosy and the bed was very comfortable.

When we arrived and checked into our room, the deluxe room was really lovely and spacious but was cold as the heater hadn't been turned on. After speaking to Grace who went out of her way to try and help we decided to move rooms and the second room was lovely.

I needed somewhere to stay near Wallingford, so I booked at The Crown Inn at Benson which is only a short cycle ride or walk away. The staff were all very friendly and they allowed me to stow my bike in their storage room. The bedroom was very spacious and clean and the tea and coffee-making facilities were great. The bed was very comfy and I got a good night's sleep away from the road, which isn't very busy anyway.
