Great place. Friends we met on holiday suggested meeting up here for a meal. They live close by and regularly eat in the restaurant. We decided to stay the night to save driving home the same day. The standard of the food was excellent for both the evening meal and breakfast. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the rooms were nicely decorated.

Just a couple of minor tweaks but no way did this detract from our enjoyable stay. A hook on the back of the bathroom door would have been handy and maybe paper coasters or beer mats in the bedroom as we felt bad putting hot cups straight down on the furniture. These are not criticisms, just observations.

The hotel is located a little out of town, very quiet and with a good view of the stars. The room is spacious for three people (2 adults and 1 child) with a dog. There is a courtyard in front of the rooms and a small grass space in the car park, which the dogs enjoyed. We had a pizza before we got to the hotel and wasn't very hungry, but I wished I'd had dinner at the hotel. We only ate the starter menu. My husband had "Wild mushroom arantini", which was wonderful. The sauce come with arantini was super great!!

If I dare to pick a point I didn't satisfied, it was that hot and cold water came out of separate outlets, which was not easy to use.

Every time I go there I am treated with a very warm welcome, fantastic food and service. I had the beef dish this week which I describes back to them as the best meal I have ever eaten, which it was. The rooms are comfortable, cosy, spotlessly clean and good value for money. Car parking always has loads of space and its 5 mins from my facility, so ideally located. I have stayed in other more town centre positioned hotels and they do not compare to the Bird in Hand. I look forward to my next stay as I know the level of excellence will remain the same. Thanks to all who made my stay amazing.

Welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Excellent food choices and quality. Lovely building with very attractive interior. Roaring fires. Fresh foliage on tables. Real candles. Dog friendly. Child friendly. Good accessibility for those with mobility problems. Plenty of parking. Bedrooms in separate building. Very comfortable and well appointed. Liked lobby for coats and shoes before entering room.

Surprised no electric vehicle charging point at venue and lack of them in area generally. Great accessibility but shower over bath in all rooms.

Quiet and comfortable accommodation close to several visitor attractions. Easy to find and ample car parking right outside accommodation Ground floor room was large with comfortable beds and good quality toiletries in the generously sized bathroom. The pub/ restaurant is warm and friendly with attentive staff. The menu consists of good quality pub classics with extra blackboard specials and breakfast has a good choice of hot food cooked to order and delicious pastries. Excellent venue for a mini break; highly recommended

Location, amazing food and restaurant (especially breakfast), well equipped rooms other than below, very friendly staff, parking and access to the property.

The rooms could do with a fridge and air conditioning as an option, especially for Asian or foreign guests.

We attended a family gathering at the Bird in Hand at Witney and stayed over in the accommodation. I do not usually write reviews but the service, quality and ambience of this restaurant warrants a special mention. The decor and detail were exceptional but a lot of credit goes to the staff who actually seemed to be enjoying their hard work. Service was very efficient and menu, quality of food and portions were all to be commended. After the meal we went to find our accommodation in the grounds and again the choice of furnishings and equipment was top quality. Bedding, bathroom, wifi, refreshments, hairdryer, iron and board all very user friendly. What a find in the beautiful Cotswold countryside just outside Witney and Oxford. The management deserves the success they have achieved by their special efforts.

Evening meal - expensive but worth every penny. Room was large, comfortable and had everything we needed. Staff were polite and on the whole, great - especially friendly with our dog. Courtyard style outside accommodation suited us having a dog. Lovely bar and eating area, and plenty space outside to get peace and quiet with lovely views of the hills. Easy parking. Room was clean. Beer and wine was lovely.

I didn't like paying the bill on arrival and spending a fortune on an evening meal to then be told we needed to pay an extra £20 on departure as a fee for the dog. Just felt very disappointed this wasn't made clear or even waived given what was already spent - it was a bitter goodbye to what had been a great couple of days The breakfasts are not remotely to the same strandards as the evening meals. The quality of the products on the continental breakfast is decent but the cooked breakfasts are lacking in choice and have basic ingredients. Also, fruit selection is poor - no berries.

The property was in a beautiful location close to Blenheim Palace and many other interesting places. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. We ate at the property both evenings and the meals were exception. The produce was fresh and beautifully cooked. The breakfast was superb. There was plenty of choice. After our breakfast we didn’t need anything else to eat during the day until our evening meal. As it was buffet style with the addition of hot dishes from the kitchen, you could choose exactly what you wanted. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay at the property again and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.
