We recently stayed at The Angel at Burford, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. Nestled in the heart of the picturesque town of Burford, The Angel offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere that perfectly blends traditional charm with modern comfort. Accommodation: The room was cozy, clean, and thoughtfully decorated, with exposed beams and a homely Cotswold aesthetic. The bed was comfortable, and we appreciated the little touches like the complimentary tea, coffee, and toiletries. Despite being a historic building, the amenities were modern and everything was well maintained. Service: The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive throughout our stay. Whether checking in, ordering a drink at the bar, or asking for local recommendations, they made us feel truly welcome. Dining at the Restaurant: Dining at The Angel’s restaurant was one of the highlights of our visit. The menu focused on fresh, locally-sourced ingredients with a great mix of traditional British dishes and more contemporary options. Our meals were beautifully presented and full of flavour. The sticky toffee pudding, in particular, was outstanding – a must-try! The ambiance in the restaurant was relaxed and intimate, with soft lighting and rustic décor creating a lovely setting for the evening. Breakfast the next morning was also excellent, with generous portions and a good selection of hot and cold options. Overall: The Angel at Burford is a wonderful place to stay if you're exploring the Cotswolds. It offers genuine hospitality, great food, and a truly comfortable setting. Such a charming Inn and Pub. Very friendly and helpful staff. Amazing outdoor garden to have a cocktail and relax in. We were able to eat dinner in the garden since we had sunny warm weather, a treat for us in April! Food from Breakfast to Dinner was absolutely delicious and a nice variety on the menu. Just a blocks walk to the Main Street in Burford and many beautiful sights to see in walking distance. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The sink in the bathroom had separate cold and hot valves/spigots so a little tricky washing up. However there was a nice tub with shower and thoughtful amenities.

Stayed at this property previously and as expected visit met expectations. Room was both clean and comfortable with all standard facilities supplied. Food was excellent i.e both dinner and breakfast. Staff also very friendly and welcoming.

The only negative comment was that a green LED emergency exit light was placed within the room above the door, which initially was an issue when attempting to sleep. Don't think I experienced such lighting during past visits, as normally this form of lighting within accommodation is located within the hallway and not within the room itself.

Excellent accommodation, spacious twin bed room with coffee / tea making facilities and excellent en-suite bath / shower room. Beds very comfortable. The food is a highlight, excellent home cooked dishes, good choice and delicious. Our breakfast was really good on both mornings. Lovely cosy pub atmosphere with log burning stove. Staff very friendly, and efficient and knowledgeable about the local area. Very good value for money, will definitely be visiting again - Burford town is lovely, great shops & cafes and so beautiful.

Staff were fantastic and very welcoming. Dinner was very tasty and well cooked and presented well. Breakfast was superb and included in the B&B price which was very reasonable at £130 a night through Booking.com Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Great surroundings and has a very nice garden area out the back. Very nice shops locally to browse and All in all, a great stay for our 19th Wedding Anniversary. Great location, great breakfast & the loveliest staff. I don’t know her name but the girl that greeted us when we arrived was so accommodating & sorted our room out so we could check in a bit earlier as we were going to a wedding nearby. Which was so nice of her to go out of her way to sort that for us!!

The only thing is the blinds in our room still let a lot of light in, so our room got really bright very early in the morning

Beautiful location. Perfect Cotswolds pub. Room and facilities are wonderful, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and good value. Breakfast included was very generous and the perfect start to the day. Whilst not obligated to eat dinner there, they graciously hold a table for each night, and the meals were exceptional. Really enjoyable stay

Only draw back for some may be steep stairs and sometimes difficult for parking but the wonderful staff carried our suitcases up and down the stairs for us

From the moment you walk through the door, you're made to feel very welcome. Our room was delightful and very comfortable. Bedroom and bathroom very clean and decorated in 'the cotswold style'. Dinner was great and breakfast was delicious with great ingredients. Will definitely be back despite only living 25 miles away. 😀

The staff were exceptional, so welcoming, friendly and took complete care of us. The food was delicious, particularly breakfast which was a real treat to order from a menu. The hotel and room decor had character, and the garden beautiful. The location is great also, with character, quaint shops, nice walks. We will definitely return and would highly recommend. Thank you to staff for making our stay perfect.

Only our preference, however the bed and pillows were not to our liking. Though clean, good quality etc..
