Room was large and comfortable. The bed was large and plush!! Bathroom was modern and spacious. Breakfast was delicious and custom-prepared quickly by a friendly staff. And the location was insanely good, right off the main drag in Burford, which is one of the best center-city shopping areas in the Cotswolds.

The room was a bit tired (carpeting especially), and was lacking a in-room mini fridge. The stairway to our room was almost dangerously steep, with a sign that rightfully warmed about hitting your head on the very tight ceiling. But hey, the building is 600 years old! So the charm mostly made up for the inconveniences.

Our room was very comfortable. Good selection of coffee and tea in room. Molton Brown products in the bathroom. Dining room was very relaxing, attention to detail, staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious with a very good choice. Breakfast very good, big selection, service friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Lounge areas were cozy and very comfortable with log burners a very relaxing atmosphere.

This is a lovely, historic inn with the expected uneven flooring, twists and turns. This is exactly what we expected and hoped for. Staff were very helpful about securing our bicycles in a safe location in the lovely courtyard. Our room was ample with a very nice modern bathroom. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast is served in the beautiful dining room with views of the courtyard, very charming! The food was good and ample. The inn is a couple of blocks from the main street with all the pubs and restaurants and shops.

If you like historic inns, nothing needed improving!

Very good service. Very attractive lounge areas with lit fires, making a cosy atmosphere. Comfortable, clean room. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. Service and decor in the restaurant were also excellent.

The bathroom was very small and the room was not good value for the amount of money paid. Looking on the Booking.com website again I see that there are much better deals than the one I got, which seems odd given that I booked for a Monday night in February.!

Beautifully decorated for Christmas, a welcome open lit fire to come down to in the morning. Elegant refined Character English hotel well furnished with antiques & arts. Easy walk to shops. Helpful polite smiling staff & a really nice touch to receive a Welcome letter offering help/directions with parking/help with bags if needed. Breakfast was just a treat so nicely presented Excellent menu/attentive staff and stunning dining room with swags of Christmas greenery & warm white gentle fairy lights. Thank you!

Plastic cartons of milk in the room 🤦‍♀️must go! Please offer guests a small jug of fresh milk on arrival. My bedroom was warmly decorated with designer wallpaper an thick linen curtains-sumptuous bed Small ensuite fine for me but if you like more space in your shower ask for a different room. You offer the finest choice of Coffees/Teas & delicious chocolates/biscuits. Very appreciated. Shame about the plastic mini milks.

All the staff were so friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. They had kindly written a card for my husband & I as they knew it was our 40th wedding anniversary too. We had a lovely room, very clean and comfortable, full of old world charm. Beautiful outdoor seating area and garden. Great breakfast and lovely dinner. couldn't fault it!

Lovely hotel and staff worked hard to ensure everything was good.

We were with friends for a Christmas break. Disappointing the bar closed at 10:30pm which meant we could only have one round of drinks and in bed by 11pm this was our Christmas treat. The barman was lovely and obviously worked long hours and very hard working but surely someone could have served us drinks until at least 11pm as we were guests.

The location of the Lamb is excellent, short walk to the centre of Burford. A quiet and pleasant road, parking at the next door hotel. The breakfast was good, the hotel is in a very old and traditional building, comfortable room and good public rooms.

The staff were not terribly welcoming and customer friendly or knowledgable. There seemed to be a general lack of training, when a small mistake was made there was no apology.Rather overpriced .

Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy my dinner of Turkey Balotine very much it was rather chewy, and the vegetables weren’t cooked very well, I didn’t like to complain as I was with a friend but I do feel it should have been better

We asked to change rooms after the first night as my husband was finding the stairs difficult. The staff member was very helpful and moved our bags to the new room. Furnishings throughout the hotel were lovely and we particularly enjoyed the cooked breakfasts.
