I found the room clean, quiet and comfortable - just right for an overnight stay before heading to London (only 20 minutes away). Walking into the centre of Stevenage from the hotel was quite easy, but having the restaurant open for dinner as well as breakfast was really good. There was a good selection on the menu and it made my stay much more relaxing. The location was good - about 15 minutes walk from the station and right next to a peaceful park and local museum, so there were places to go right on the doorstep.

There could have been more information in the room about places to visit, shop or eat - I was able to look things up online, but it would have saved time.

Friendly staff, lovely welcoming reception and wide, well decorated communal areas, gives a good first impression. Spacious clean bedroom and bathroom. Nice heavy curtains kept out the early morning sun. Comfy clean beds and room temperature easy to control with aircon. Situated on a busy road next to a fire station, but sleep was not disturbed. Very tasty buffet style breakfast included in the room price. As much as you wanted from a wide range of continental and full english. Easy check in/out, with good online communication.

Would have liked bottled water for kettle instead of using bathroom tap. Not familiar with the area, so it felt a little unsafe using the underpass late at night to access the hotel.

This was a perfect stay from start to finish. When we arrived our room wasn’t quite ready so we were given complimentary drinks of our choice and crisps. The children got cokes and I got a fruity cider with Tyrell’s crisps. I was also given a voucher for two free desserts for the children ! Not long after we sat down and were greeted by a lovely friendly waiter, our room wasn’t quite ready. The decor in the restaurant was lovely bright and airy. Our room was a family room for myself and two children. There was a large double bed and a ready made up double sofa bed. The room was the perfect temperature. There was tea coffee facilities and toiletries in the bathroom. Room had all you needed such as tv, hairdryer and ironing facilities. There was plenty of mirrors and a lot of space. At around 5 we went down to the bar to eat. There wasn’t many other people in there and the large screen TV was showing the football. The children ordered food from the children menus which were delivered quickly to the table. They ordered starters and mains and a J2O. These were all free and they thoroughly enjoyed them. I ordered steak sandwich and fries which was delicious. We took our mains upstairs as the children were tired. They also offer room service at £5. We used our free vouchers for desserts and they chose chocolate brownie from the main menu. Priced at £7.75 so we saved over £15! The staff brought this up for us free of charge as I had a lot to carry. The beds were so comfortable and we all slept soundly. Hotel was quiet no external noise. Next morning we went down for breakfast which amazing. The choice was fantastic and again the children ate free! There was fresh croissants, pan au chocolates, raisin swirls, fresh white and brown bread, uncut bread, all kinds of fruit, yoghurts, salami, cheese, cold meat, tomato, cucumber, many cereals with different types of milks. Hot food was sausage, bacon, fried eggs, hash browns, black pudding, bean and scrambled eggs.

When booking I requested a twin room which I thought we had booked. On arrival we had been given a standard double. This was rectified by the staff but they did say they weren’t given that information. Break fast was good . Lovely attentive staff .

We weren’t aware we had to pay for parking. The receptionist took money for parking and parking on my card but took an extra £16 to cover any extras that we had. I thought this was unnecessary. We were told it would be refunded if we didn’t use it.

The staff welcome you with a smile, they are friendly and very accomodating Room is clean. The place is easy to find, near the city centre and has few parking, but if the parking is full, thetlre is a public parking just opposite the hotel. Usually, the Holiday inn has complimentary welcome bottle water not sure why we did not have. There are complimentary tea, coffee and kettle good for cold weather. I found it the heating or air condition will take a while to work, but apart from this, we had a peaceful night spent on a comfortable bed.

Loved that it was a short walk from train station, loved the bar that was open anytime for us to get together with a few people. It was large, bright and breezy. The Breakfast was reasonable. We were travelling with a couple, we had however booked separately and they had a baby, but they were able to book us together on the same floor a room apart. Reception were lovely people, very friendly and welcoming. Was perfect.

I thought our room would be bigger as we booked a larger one, but overall satisfied.

Firstly the hotel was easy to find, having travelled for 3 hours by car that makes a difference; and there was space in the hotel's car park, which was one of the reasons I chose this hotel. Reception delightful, the room very comfortable and quiet; I discovered a very good bar with food, when I got back in the evening; next morning, the breakfast was more than one could wish for. And as a bonus, having to 'check-out' by midday gave me a chance to explore the town before my return journey. I look forward to returning.

Not a thing.

The standard twin room was spacious and clean. The hotel was peaceful and we slept well. Breakfast offered a very good range of foods with eggs cooked on request. The breakfast staff were especially courteous, friendly and accommodating. Parking suited our needs and was available. The Reception staff were cheerful and went the extra mile to create an Easter theme throughout the public areas.

The beds were a little firm for our taste. The decor in the room was a little tired.

The hotel is exceptionally clean, fantastic staff, great size rooms, scrummy breakfast and the in-house restaurant is very good. Parking was simple - just across the road, through the underpass and you're at the hotel - and the hotel validates your parking chip and we only paid £7 for parking when we left. They also stored our luggage on the last day, so we were free for another day out and collected it that evening. The whole experience simplified and added to a really rejuvenating long weekend away. We will go back. The location is great for getting into London and also exploring further afield. I was really impressed - and believe me, that doesn't happen often.

Car parking facilities are a little confusing ! Have to pay £12 for 24 hours but not many spaces in actual hotel carpark. So if you leave carpark, you may not get space back after paying £12. However, staff do ask how likely it is that you will move the car and discuss alternative options before paying for carpark
