Wanting to make an early start i just had a continental breakfast which was very nice. I very much liked the fact that fresh milk for tea and coffee was brought on arrival, that there was a selection of bottled waters in the room, fresh coffee available, but most of all I liked the fact that there was a real feeling of care and concern , and that nothing was too much trouble to ensure guests have a comfortable stay.

It isn't a dislike, but I did wonder if there should be a direct contact no., for problems that occur "out of hours". A small problem did occur whilst I was there, that might of had a quicker solution had there been a contact no. Just a thought!

Ideal location for Glyndebourne which was the object of the visit. Very helpful and friendly staff - it's the first time I've been asked if I'd like fresh milk in the room - which was a good jugful and kept well in the small milk fridge. Meant I could really enjoy my morning tea. Ground coffee and a cafetiere provided rather than the ubiquitous, dreadful packets of instant. Airy comfortable rooms with windows you could open and exceptionally comfortable bed. Breakfast served at your table rather than a buffet.

Our room and en suite were beautifully clean and comfortable and all the staff that we met (David, Atlanta, Ryan the chef and the lovely lady who was going to clean our room when we left) were all friendly, professional and exceptionally helpful and kind. I have to stick to a Gluten free, soya and fructose free and Low FODMAP Diet and Ryan ensured that he cooked and served me only food that I could eat without becoming extremely ill. I ate the Special Plaice, crushed new potatoes and courgettes and roast parsnips Las night and my husband had the Sausages, mash, broccoli and thick onion gravy and it was all delicious. Our friend who joined us for the meal is vegetarian and she said that the cheese and something filo pastry tart was delicious too.

The shower room could have done with a shower mat to step out onto, but we managed and didn't mention when we were there because everything else was exceptionally good!

Couldn't really fault anything, the staff were incredibly helpful and pleasant, breakfast was good and the room was lovely. Everything was clean and cosy, I actually felt it was a shame we weren't staying an extra day. Also the rubber ducky bathmat made me laugh, that was very endearing I wouldnt say it was a bargain - clearly we were staying on an expensive weekend and all local accommodation was quite pricey - but it was cheaper than an alleged "low cost" national chain and the Roebuck definitely made it feel worth the price

Could be a bit more responsive to messages via Booking.com after an initial prompt response to a question about check in times, but were helpful over the phone.

Lovely pub with very friendly staff. Room was small but well equipped. Very close to Glyndebourne, which is why we chose it. Great breakfast. Great food and beer in the pub.

Shower switch was a bit stiff and hard to turn off. I think we had the smallest room, so no wardrobe. More of a pub with rooms than a hotel, so depends what you are looking for, but we liked it!

The Inn isn't too far from Lewes, and there is a bus stop opposite - so the location is great. I had a friendly welcome, and a very comfortable bed. There was ample parking, and a lovely breakfast in the morning. I highly recommend an overnight stay here. The decor and vibe of the Inn itself was very inviting.

I was delighted to find a mini fridge in the bedroom which said 'Fresh Milk' but, when I opened it, it was empty. That's it! I made do with the little pots of UHT, so I still got my cuppa!

We had a great stay in the Roebuck Inn. The location was very easy to find and there was a big parking. The rooms are nice, quiet and fully equipped. We had breakfast and dinner here and we really enjoyed everything from the beginning to the end. The staff was lovely (special mention to the waitresses who served us at night and the lady who was here in the morning with her little dog, she's a diamond!)

Unfortunately, the last morning the fire alarm set up when our neighbour went out of his bathroom (due to the steam) so the wake up was not as soft as we expected it but it's no one's fault !

The room was very comfortable with two good armchairs. Fresh milk in the room to go with our cafetière coffee. A Roberts radio and good attention to decorative detail. Breakfast was exceptionally good, thank you. Very good quality sausages and all very well cooked. Good toast too. Good coffee and plenty of orange juice. Will definitely come again! Michèle

Nothing to dislike!

Just what you would expect from a quaint country pub, staff extremely friendly,couldn’t ask for more. Big shout out to the chef, the best fish and chips I have had for years. The breakfast was amazing. The room was squeaky clean, the best night sleep ever. Will definitely come back I will also recommend to my friends and family. Keep up the good work guys.

Rural and perfect for my purpose

Breakfast on the second day was not served properly. It was a Sunday and the Management went on holiday without stocking up the kitchen. So the staff were unable to serve what was requested and we had to wait very long. I left because after 45 minutes I only had my coffee and a bowl of yogurt while the other six quest still were waiting for tere food. Staff apologized extensively.
